This is some of her best work. Marvelous!! Love it.
Although no soprano has ever sung Bellini's "Beatrice" better than Joan Sutherland, this is pretty spectacular.
I am 76 and have lived my life more or less in tandem with Joan Sutherland and to me she is still the greatest soprano of all, but I have to say that JuneAnderson is the closest to come to JoanSutherland and is way above the others of this generation.

el aria es magnifica..como todo .lo de BELLINI........que para mi es un genio iluminado de la opera...........motivo por el cual..........no todo el mundo puede cantarlas.........................SON OPERAS MUY DIFICILES...PARA ENSOÑACIONES ANIMICAS ESPECIALES......y orquestalmente son de mucho ímpetu.......pasional.........emotivo.......dramático.....y un conjunto de ............locura no solo para la orquesta....sino también para cada uno y todos los interpretes...........y eso es una labor muy grande y tediosa en nuestros días..............lograr.ese compendio artístico capaz de representar ...esa loca alma de BELLINI............Y...a estas alturas de la película.............entre comillas............ya sabemos quien era capaz de cantar al GRAN BELLINI...........SOBRE TODO EN ESTA OPERA.....................

Superlativa per voce e pathos
Sencillamente Magnifica Aria.
Strepitosa. La Sutherland sarà stata anche superiore da un punto di vista tecnico. Ma la partecipazione emotiva di June è qualcosa che va oltre ogni considerazione. La sua voce conquista per quel che da sola riesce ad esprimere. Come accadeva per Bjoerling
Alberto Del Buono, tu la Sutherland dal vivo non l'hai mai sentita.
Leyla Gencer's performance shouldn't be ommitted either: though no SOPRANO VIRTUOSO like Sutherland and Anderson, she is way more drammatic than her colleagues and their interpretation more vivid too.
Pity that Callas never sang this role!

Yea Anderson is very similar to Sutherland… very small voice and bad technique ! Canary like singing.
Have you actually heard them live? None of them had a small voice, nor cannary singing. Tiny voices are Sumi Jo, Eva Lind, or more recent, Lisette Oropesa and many other current coloraturas.
@@AndreiUngureanuoperafan No I never heard these singers live. Recordings are perfectly fine to judge a singer’s vocal technique. I read many times that Sutherland was capable of producing loud noises at the top of the voice. Loud noises do not always means good singing. Civilized screaming could be loud and pleasing but it is not good singing. Her top notes were small and thin. The middle and low notes were bearly audible and her diction non-existent .
