A turbine would be pretty impractical for me, but the cool factor can't be denied. Regardless of what you put this in, it will be nice to follow along and get a "real" sense of what the setup and ownership is like.
Jeff!! Oh my!!! I'm so keyed into this - a life ambition to build a turbine Heli - watching and following with keen interest!! Great video as ever!! Thank you.
At 5:02 I think you misspoke by calling the secondary turbine a "secondary compressor wheel." I think I've watched enough AgentJayZ to have that straight. This is so cool! I'm kind of glad I'm late to finding this video. This way I don't have to wait to see how it turns out. I look forward to watching your other videos about the turbine helicopter.
It's not a secondary compressor wheel, it's the power turbine wheel. The first turbine is connected to the compressor. It's called the gas producer turbine. The hot gases then pass through the power turbine which is connected to the 90 degree gearbox.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 would love to Mount it on my Nano… from my judgement of your Content and my Promo Videos the Nano is ready to do this Step 🤩 Im burning for what Chopper you take on Turbine
Lol, West. The proper description of the 2nd stage turbine wheel and is consider part of the N2 system and compressor side being the N1 system. 2nd stage turbine driving the gearbox and 1st stage turbine wheel driving the compressor. Sorry, lol Ima Helicopter mech so ADHD. 😁😁😁
@karlhines82 how often do you have to service it and best way to mix fuel? I currently have a nitro 700 and I’ve been wanting to build a scale with maybe the whiplash 700kit or so you know about the artf king tech 800 size? Thx much
@@chrisgarcia9711 the service interval is 25hrs but i am going to go until things get noisy on the gear box. For oil i mix at 4% and run power model jet oil or kingtech oil
Awesome! Can't wait to see this build and watch it fly. On a side note, I noticed that you seem to be using a Multi Sizes Digital Pitch Gauge lately instead of the usual one used in the past. What is your opinion on this new pitch gauge vs the other one you have been using? 🧙♂👍
It’s going to be a really fun and cool project! I have been using and still use the same pitch gauge I have had for over two years now. It’s a cheap $20 pitch gauge off Amazon. Just 3D printed different size holders to fit into the different helis.
Not great lol it has the power to weight of like a gasser. The biggest issue with turbines and the power to weight ratio is they produce a ton of thrust, but they take a while to spool compared to a Nitro, gas, electric set up. So collective management is very important to keep a consistent power band in flight performance.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 oh ok. I would have thought that the output shaft would be geard off the main shaft and not turning another turbine blade that then connects to the transmission. Seems less efficient.
Can't bloody wait
Same
It’s going to be an awesome project! Can’t wait!

I’ve never built a turbine heli before but many planes. It’s definitely a different type of flying and sound! Stay tuned for the build and flight!

Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed the video! This should be a fun project and can’t wait to get started and fly this thing!
Oh Yeah! Can't wait to see this thing fired up!
Me either! It’s going to sound AMAZING!!!
Yes!! I’ve been waiting for a build like this 🎉
This build will be starting soon! Just waiting on some custom parts!
Very exciting. Looking forward to seeing more!
Just waiting on a few parts and I can finish up part one of the build!
Very interested to see this whole build process and flight performance and characteristics.
I am excited for this project as well! Should be a fun one!
YESSSS LETS GOOOOOOOO. The smaller of the two comet. I know you ca make it fit.🤣😂🤣😂
That would be awesome! That might be a idea one day!
Can`t wait to see this build really really looking forward to it.
Nice, we follow also here in Netherlands,
Thank you! Hope your excited for this one!

I think it’s pronounced “sicoy” 😂 can’t wait to see the build
I thought it was Zicoy? But yeah it’s something like that lol
Anything that phallic has to be awesome 😂.
It’s an incredible looking engine! Like art work lol
@@westhobbiesrc8051 I think it is pronounced something like “Zee-coy” or “Zicoy” ??

Lovely piece of kit 👌🏻
Yes it is! Incredible peace of machinery!
So Great mate that Rocks

That is good to know the actual names! Thank you.
Some 700 sized Blackhawk would be p-rno mate
Wow that rocks
Wonder if it will be something scale. It would be hilarious and impressive to see you 3D a turbine.
Hmm! Maybe I will! We will see!
You are going to enjoy that turbine… it makes more power than listed. Actually like 5.8hp. I have mine in a MA whiplash and it has 24hr on it
Oh wow! That’s great to hear! I was hoping it made more power! Definitely going to need it! Lol

I'm hoping for a MD500E myself or some other scale helicopter.
That would be cool! I plan on building a MD500 one day!
Now I know how to open a boc
Good!
When will you release the build video?

Please do a radio setup for the heli
I can definitely do that! Everything will be the same other than throttle and ECU programming.
Part of me is hoping you're putting that in a RAW 420 🤣😂
If they made a smaller one I would! This is takes up the whole 420 lol
Do you have the X45H in stock? If not what is the waiting period?
Zi-coy
Yes it’s Zicoy
Kerosene or diesel, which will you run and why?
We will be running kerosene just because that’s what I’ve always run on turbines.
Un motor así con una transmisión,podría mover una bicicleta??😁😁
How is the power to weight ratio compared to a quality electric setup that goes in same 700 size helicopter?

@@LichaelMewis only issue with that is the main turbine is spinning at 100,000 plus aRPM so they would have to gear the output shaft down a lot.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 yeah and drive that to a reduction gearbox then output shaft for the clutch.
🤣Sonic Booom!!!
That would be cool!
A helicopter that has to do with speed.
Actually no! No speed heli for this.
Are you getting the miniature aircraft Heli for this?
No, it’s not going in a miniature aircraft helicopter.
Raw 700
Maybe! 🤔
scale
No,not scale. At least not this time!
😂😂, xicoy not Xcoy....
