As a prior USCG H60 mechanic/aircrew, I approve 🙂 pretty cool. It does need four tail rotor blades instead of two and a hoist and the external fuel tanks for accuracy. Would be cool to see it fly over water. That’s pretty cool.

I seriously doubt that optical flow will work any better with 1 big and 1 little rotor disturbing the surface of the water rather than 4 smaller ones! 😉 As to "GPS accuracy is worse on the Z axis" I don't know about this model but most of these Senior Citizen's Toys use an onboard barometer for height control. 😊 Also (though I may have missed mention of it in the video) the quick badly focused look at the Destruction Manual seemed to show that the Transmitter could be easily switched between left and right throttle control and 2 Rates are also available. Not exactly sure what the "up" position of the switch 5 is for either. The Manual's description of its operation is the usual Chinglish Clear As Mud! 🙄

nice video i am thinking about getting a helicopter like the one your are flying,but my purpose is to fly slow take off and land make circles and get use to the helicopter and become a good pilot,i do not like flying fast because of my eye problem so nice and slow as she goes mr. spark.and another thing a beginner needs to learn the basic of ground work,setting the gps and calibrate the transmitter before take off.

Looks fantastic. I grew up near the Coast Guard base in NC and my neighbor was a rescue copter pilot, so I saw the real blackhawk and dolphin ones a lot. I'll stick to building tiny whoops and my old mavic for filming, but that's a pretty amazing set of features for an RC toy!

Great video of the features!...I bought one. I noticed you had an inside flight....What is the throttle secret to launching inside to prevent ceiling strikes. All of my launches outside would be higher than the inside ceiling.

Can i lift anything with it?? I was looking at a rc CH-47 Chinook but it doesn’t have the gps system and gyro sensors for the same price. I also love how the blackhawk looks aswell.
I lifted a camera. You should NEVER lift anything suspended off the bottom of a helicopter as it will always end in disaster as the helicopter attempts to compensate for the swaying motion.

Nice review. As noted by another person, the name is "Jayhawk." It's designation was originally HH-60J but they were converted to MH-60J in 2007. The "cargo doors" are crew doors.
Just retired from the CG in October. Never got to see the 60’s too much. Was around 65’s a lot though. (Patrols on 4 cutters, and last duty station was the ESD in Humboldt CA)
The difference all depends on where you live in the world. LEFT is MODE 2 and is pretty much all of NORTH AMERICA. RIGHT is MODE 1 and is in pockets of countries (other than North America) around the world.
It wasn't covered here (unless I missed it) but this transmitter can be set to either left or right throttle control. (Shown on Tx display.) Generally, when the sales site also gives you the choice of Tx mode versions, (as here) it means that the Tx will default to the noted version at each power up unless you hold down the "Mode" button while turning on the transmitter.

Hey captain, love your videos. I would like to ask you a question. I recently purchased the F09-S coast guard helicopter. Fun machine to fly. However, whenever I have to charge a battery, it takes at least 12 hours to fully charge. What could be wrong? Already got hold of a new charger. Same charging result. Could it be defective batteries. They hold a charge, just takes 12 hours to recharge. Any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Gene
If you use the included battery charger it is a slow charge. I’m guessing you are not familiar with battery charging in the RC hobby. If you use an RC hobby charger plugged into the XT30 cable & balance cable you can then charge the batteries like the rest of us in under an hour.

It will work with “any” analog FPV goggle and monitor, so you have a million options. The only thing you need to know is that all budget FPV Goggles expect that the user does not wear glasses as they will not fit over glasses.

Beautiful UH-60 Coast Guard heli. I just purchased and want to know how do you charge the battery...the manual is not helpful. Do you charge with the battery off and just monitor until the display on the white balance/Charger goes up to 12.0 Volts. For example I started charging at 11.3 Volts and went up and stood at 12.0 Volts (within 20 minutes)....Upon turning on the battery to Check the bars...I saw 4 bars. Is this how you charge the battery..Did I do it correctly
I also heard the sound you mentioned. I think it sounds like a worn out bearing in the gear train. That is what my toys sounded like when they got over-used. Could it be that or was it sound effects to simulate the helicopter sound? Otherwise, it seemed like a nice copter.

@@droneqsl7860 You are lucky. The problem with the beacon and the SKYDIO is that the camera does not center itself on the Beacon so if your CAR or PLANE or whatever moves up and down and side to side it always goes out of the camera for awhile.

I guess it all depends on the rules of the country you live in. But honestly, 99% of the world is focused on DRONES so items like RC Planes and RC Helicopters are always ignored by the law.

That tells me the batteries on the coastguard heli have a different firmware to monitor battery usage. Have you tried it the other way around.. coastguard batteries into the Blackhawk?

The Coast Guard version is called the Jayhawk, not a Blackhawk. My neighbor in Sitka, AK was a CG pilot and flew them. Cool bird!

The secret is don’t use auto takeoff. Do a manual takeoff and properly control the left throttle.

It is a small INSTA360 Camera and I simply stick it to the body (side or bottom).

Is the blackhawk model the same as this one as far as ease of flying and with pretty much the same features as this coast guard model?
Yes, very similiar except the coast guard model is designed for beginners whereas the blackhawk requires the pilot to have some hand/eye coordination.

Many of us had tried, years ago, strapping the skydio beakon to all kinds of RC items. The results are really poor so no one really does it anymore.

I've been wanting an FPV helicopter (not a drone) for a long time, but nobody makes them until now.
Does it require FAA registration like drones do?
I guess it all depends on the rules of the country you live in. But honestly, 99% of the world is focused on DRONES so items like RC Planes and RC Helicopters are always ignored by the law.

As a former Coastie, the USCG version is a Jayhawk, not a Blackhawk. Same airframe, different accouterments.
Coast Guard calls them Jayhawk.. Very cool still.. Ex Coastie here! Semper Paratus!

CAPTAIN DRONE (Steve) is that the left hand or right hand throttle version?
You set the Mode since the Left or Right joystick does not drop down as per an FPV drone remote.

Can it use the batteries from the Blackhawk helicopter? Are they interchangeable? Can this new charger also work with the black hawk batteries?
I would say yes they appear to be the same size. Can’t confirm 100% as I don’t have the Blackhawk batteries to confirm
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 FYI, Great heli. Just got it. Love the flying functions. Just to note. the Blackhawk batteries don't work on this F09. They fit and turn on the lights. But the remote control will not turn on the main motor.
@@warrenyu7949 interesting. You are saying if you place the batteries from the FO9 Blackhawk heli into the F09-S Coastguard Heli, the heli won’t take off? That tells me the batteries on the coastguard heli have a different firmware to monitor battery usage. Have you tried it the other way around.. coastguard batteries into the Blackhawk?
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 just tried it. It works the other way around. The interesting also is the camera works with the F09-S. But not with the F09 battery.

Oh wow!!! That Heli is close to a grand … ouch. A bit speedy for dogfights with the DJI but still very cool!!
