For some reason, DK has a track record for being great with machinery. In the Olympic Games, he's shown to be capable of repairing E-123 Omega, something Tails himself couldn't do. I find this hilarious.

The very fact that Rare decided to add lore of “let’s kill off this monkey grandma” and it’s STUCK will always be funny to me. Side note: the ghostly wails when you talk to Wrinkly in 64 used to really creep me out
I like to imagine that nintendo didn’t even know about her being dead until the game released and were like wtf Rare you killed off a character?! But continued with it in later games😂
@@lpnp9477 Yeah that's how i see it lol. Or at least finished with her Kong puberty. Though when you think about it, she's the only one in her family that doesn't stand up right, so she's the real anomaly
I like to imagine that Tiny Kong’s redesign is because she tried to use her size changing powers, to be bigger instead of smaller and things went about as well as using a Monkey’s paw. It gives a reason for why no one else has aged and if Wrinkly can become a ghost I don’t see why this also kinda dark idea could’ve happened. Would also be cool if the jungle beat bosses came back and got some personality.
I think the size change lines up with what became of Wrinkly Kong and the original DK. Time actually moves forward for the Kongs as our real years go by, and they all age: DK grows into an old Cranky Kong, Wrinkly dies of old age, and Tiny moves through puberty into her teens. Makes me curious what has become of Kiddy Kong at this point.
Ever since the movie came out I’ve adopted the headcanon that Funky Kong is in charge of the kart factory and invented Mario Kart. He only participates occasionally since, as the creator, he’s just too good at it for it to be a fair race

When you really think about it she's gotta be one of the most skilled Kongs. Truly the star student of Kong Kollege. Also fav Kong is Tiny

Oh yeah, if(more like when) we get that DK spinoff Movie, I can definitely see the other Kongs being heavily expanded on. Plotwise it might be something along the lines that Cranky is about to retire as the ruler of the Jungle Kingdom which makes DK the next in line. The Boss Kongs from Jungle Beat don't think he's worthy to be king though and challenge him for the throne, but while that internal conflict is occurring the Pirate fleet of the Kremlings plan their invasion of the whole Jungle Kingdom-and DK will have to contend with all that+ the responsibility of being king now.
Yeah i always headcanon'd that jungle beat takes place first as current DK's test to become the prime Kong to lead and defend against enemies. The extra details i like to include are: Cranky and Final Kong are old rivals and Final took over while Cranky was dealing with Mario.
I'd say Jungle Beat happens after Mario vs. DK for the Gameboy. So Mario chases him out of New Donk City and into the Jungles. When DK arrives he goes through DK Jungle Beat. After proving himself worthy of being future King DKC, DK Land, DKC2/DKL2,DKC3/DKL3 happen. Than DK finds some Bongos and Donkey Konga happens. Than DK64. Than DK:KOS and so on and so forth.
Yeah, donkey could also have to mend the rift between his family and the orangutans, because the threat would be so great that they couldn’t handle it alone, would be awesome to see
All these ideas are great ! I also would love to see some characters from the TV show appear in it, like Bluster Kong. The duo between general Klump and Krusha was also very funny and kinda sweet
The Kongs are probably my favorite video game characters yet. I love apes and monkeys in the real world, and this cartoony depiction of them in the Nintendo universe has always captured my imagination. I’d always thought of the Manky Kongs as a separate species or race of Kongs, and imagined that there was some weird race war going on between the two that pushed the Mankies to join up with the Kremling Krew. Lanky’s a defector I guess.
I miss the likes of Chunky, Candy, Tiny and Lanky, and would love to see them return in a new game. If not, it would surely be something to have Bluster Kong in the mainline DK series.

You know, I always thought Mankey Kong was just some unamed Kong or some kind fake engineered king that King K Rool came up with. I never knew he had a name. This is probably my new favorite UA-cam channel for its level of love and dedication for Donkey Kong that Nintendo will almost certainly never display again. I'd also like to point out an odd change in some of the Kongs. Kongs that resemble DK (Cranky, Wrinkly, Funky, Swanky, etc.) had their noses altered about the time of the Konga games' conclusion, around 2005, DK aside, these Kongs had their noses changed up so that their nostrils protruded up off their snouts. For DK, for some reason, this nostril protrusion did not happen until around the time of Mario Kart 8, about 2014, and can be best seen by comparing DKC Tropical Freeze on the Wii U and on the Switch. Funnily enough, Konga's conclusion seemed to coincide with the end of the Rare style of DK characters, as Cranky and K. Rool, just as two examples, were last seen with their Rare-inspired designs in Konga 3. Thereafter, their designs not only altered their noses but their overall designs as well. I prefer the older designs, myself, but I love all the Kong designs, even Uncle Kong's.
Something you missed with Tiny was that she’s actually a gifted Genius and the islands Tax official, mostly counting Banana coins and she wants to be a super model when she grows up idolizing Tiny. Also no mention of Chunky’s love of wrestling and his personal hero Kong Hogan?
It's funny cause Candy herself also has to be potentially the most intelligent Kong. Runs multiple businesses, while being a model, a dancer, a musician, the go to minigame Kong in a lot of the franchise all while juggling a relationship on top of that. Tiny picked a good one to look up to
@@MagillanicaLouM honestly I never really thought about Candy like that, I do kind of wish they did tone down her design a bit (Basically A modern take on her DK 64 design) but I do like her being a bit more intelligent than she puts on.
@@smashers6971 Yeah, it's genuinely impressive when one actually stops and looks at what she does in each appearance. But I don't think her design needs any changing, personally. Not for the games anyway, I imagine a DK film would tone her down and just in general they change up the designs a bit of pretty much every Kong that appeared in SMB movie anyway. But otherwise she's fine as she is. Especially with how Nintendo has done Pauline lately, I don't think they'd see an issue with the current Candy design they made themselves lol.

If we get another DKC game from retro, I hope it is with the orangutan or the return of the Jungle Beat Kongs. Have more playable characters by having the 64 crew back. That would be fun 🎮
That discussion of the Manky Kong war is so damn hilarious. I think it comes back to the internal hilarity of the Manky artwork you used. Thank you also for mentioning Bluster in Super Mario Kun, and referring to the DKC Cartoon trading cards. That’s kinda the only place to find clean artwork of the show’s OC characters like Skurvy and Bluster.
Sharp agreeable too this video. My ending thoughts though. You forgot the moon monkeys kong in the dreamlands dream sequence and Chunky Kong is the Son of Funky. Tiny Kong is Funky Grandson and Chunky Son. That about it. 10/10 video.
my personal theory is that lanky kong isn’t related to the kongs in any way, he’s just some random guy that wandered into their part of the jungle and nobody questions it or makes him leave because they just assume he’s a “distant cousin”
Major props to Swanky Kong for his generosity. He's in the prime position to scam the other Kongs, with the prizes being partially from chance and all, but he chooses not to.

I like the idea of the Kongs and Kremlings being tribalistic and Donkey Kong having to beat the other intimidating Kongs to become their overall ruler. It makes the whole setting more dangerous and warlike. Therefore, making DK himself ppear as more of a powerhouse.
I remember when I first played Donkey Kong 64, I was terrified of wrinkly Kong, it spooked me that she was a ghost and came out of a door thats inside was pitch black. but when I got older and played the it again as a adult I had become deeply saddened because I remember playing Donkey Kong Country 2 that she was in and grew fond of her because she was nice compared to cranky it makes me sad that they killed her off she's a lot nicer than her husband LOL

Thank you for pronouncing Super Mario Brothers the way it was always meant to be pronounced. It means a lot
Carlito crossover when
The Kong from donkey Kong land is named "guinea Kong" he's an Italian Kong who you were supposed to help escape from poachers...he's also a detective
"speaking of neglected, meet lanky kong" dang dude what did he do to you?
If I have a good name for the unnamed kong, I would say Sleazy Kong.
Doesn’t matter how old I get, when the DK Rap starts playing you go big or go home. I’d be at a funeral and just bust a move. Lmao.
Great video! Diddy, Dixie and Funky have always been my favorite Kongs
If this DK movie is really happening, Redneck Kong better make an appearance
The white haired super kongs from DKCR and Pinky Kong. RIP
Best show on DVD
Ok but who tf is that Afro Kong in the beginning of the DK rap who runs off and then chunky kong comes in
Redneck Kong should return as Red Kong, and muscle him up like the Kremlins, and of course change the color of his overalls to red.
"for unknown reasons"
Probably so they didn't have to worry about legal action taken by Dinky Toys, I would imagine...
Someone mentioned this in the comments of my Diddy Kong video, and I think this is a safe bet
my personal theory is that lanky kong isn’t related to the kongs in any way, he’s just some random guy that wandered into their part of the jungle and nobody questions it or makes him leave because they just assume he’s a “distant cousin”
NOT EVEN 3 SECONDS IN 😭
Major props to Swanky Kong for his generosity. He's in the prime position to scam the other Kongs, with the prizes being partially from chance and all, but he chooses not to.
That intro alone got you a like
"Donkey Kong woke up and decided he wanted all the smoke." Video ended and I'm still chuckling at that one 😂
AYO THAT JOKE IN THE BEGINNING---- 🤣
Edit: I'm gonna say Dixie Kong is my favorite lol
Funky Kong's segment was incredible. They need to just let Vybz voice him from prison.
Yes, he even looks like him 😂
We have gotta be in store for a new DK game here soon I would think, it's been much too long now.
@TheMentok i love your videos for the info, but also for how you edit them.. you have me crackin' up constantly.
The Kong skeleton in Mario & Luigi SSS is called "Bohno" which is a double pun to Bohne (Bean) and Bono. I always found that one hilarious!
I miss tiny kong
Really cool video, but I have a question: What about the monkeys 🐒 from "Barrel Shield Bust Up" from DKC3? Are they Kongs? Also what about the monkeys from Mario 64 that steal Mario's hat?🤔
Fedora Kong just standing there vibing. Living his best life. He was so powerful he evaporated from his existence.
Uncle Kong looks like the brother of Bluster Kong. 🤣🤣

So a prototype of Superstar Saga was dumped last year, and in it, it was revealed that, at that point in development…
*BINK WAS ALIVE. LIKE ACTUALLY.*
Goddamn, the Donkey Kong jungle beat bosses look quite menacing. Especially "Final Kong"
The Rera of Kings was quite Wonderful. But bringing in another Kong but as a villian is quite neat especially Rasta Kong is wonderful. And Rabbid Kong made a faster than camera speed blitz lmao
I like how Rare said that after the events of DKC1, the kongs had all the mankies executed for treason.
You also missed Ringo from the single Fleetway DK Comic.
I like the idea of the Kongs and Kremlings being tribalistic and Donkey Kong having to beat the other intimidating Kongs to become their overall ruler. It makes the whole setting more dangerous and warlike. Therefore, making DK himself ppear as more of a powerhouse.
I would be super hyped up if there was a kong movie, my favorite kong is Diddy. He runs the fastest and jumps the highest in DKC2
I always found it very based seeing Donkey Kong punch all enemies in Junglebeat rapidly! 😄
Candy Kong is as subtle as Mr. Turner with the Battering Ram.
yes! do the orangutang wars!
【Shades Finnish Pirates】Honor to become a Kongalogist, thank you it would have not been possible without you making up that word! My theory for the Mystery Kong in the Hat is that he is a detective, also he has weird man boobs & nipples and i would name him Detective Kong or Detective Soy Boy Kong. I actually was really interested in the Manky Kong as i watched some DK videos, i saw the monstrosity and had to know who he was so thank you! I want to see that DK movie you described, would be epic and i know it!
Unfortunately it probably won’t happen, but a guy can hope 😂
Yes, let's hope :P World would need some Donkey Kong action right now :P Thanks for answering!@@TheMentok
remember those cool movie posters in mario & luigi superstar saga? its so good seeing nintendo make movies of their franchises
I knew the ones on the thumbnail but you started out strong with one I’ve never heard of so good show
Of all the Kongs Throughout the Donkey Kong Country series, my favorite Kong is Funky Kong because he's a literal monobro of the Jungle and of course Ghastly King because he's an evil colossal Gorilla!
Bluster Kong is and always WILL BE my favorite Kong in all of Donkey Kong. And, just saying, I’ve never seen him and Leo Luster in the same room together.
The player 2 Kong in Donkey Kong Jr. Math is my favorite playable kong.
we all know funky is the coolest kong to ever exist
Geezus. I had no idea the DKC series had so much actually serious lore lol xD. All these family trees and such. Really interesting XD
