Wow, I played the demo and never realized that your Ergo amount turns blue when you have enough to level up, that is VERY handy.
I think the feature is not in demo.
For those who didn't play the demo: The deflection works like Sekiro's, it doesn't disbalance the enemy for a riposte like in BB.
Standard block: recoverable hp loss (easy but costly)
Perfect guard: no hp loss and build enemy's nonvisible stagger meter. eg. When the Watchman boss does a chain attack, chain deflections are needed.
This is the core part of the game and everything else is built around it. The nerfed roll during lock on is to encourage deflection.

Problem is the deflect doesn’t feel anywhere near as did as it did in Sekiro. Also the focus on taking down Hp instead of posture doesn’t pair well with the stiff dodge. It’s probably just me but it feels like the combat is trying to be two things at once and so, because neither the dodge or parry feel good enough to be the primary form of defence, it just doesn’t feel quite right to play. Imo they should have put in a much better dodge like Bloodborne and had the parry as a more risk reward sort of mechanic

the problem with parry only mechanics is everyone playing has to learn the same technique and will be boring to watch

Demo was good but the parry mechanic was pretty laggy/buggy. Hopefully they fixed that

im so greatful i bought a Series X over a Ps5...... its insane that less than 2 weeks after starfield we get Lies of P. absolutely keen as a bean after playing elden ring and sekiro on repeat
Ya i just got game pass this past month for these 2 games. Except on PC. Great deal!
Yea but u get to play only decent games on gamepass while ps5 gets access to triple As exclusives.
Thank god i got a Pc not wasted money on buying this game looks good but not worth buying i own a PS5 i gave my series x to my son becuase I got a 3080 rig so i check it on Pc save some money GAMEPASS is really good but i wish xbox made more exclusives becuase on paper the series x is a really good console for power 🔋.
Owning both a good PC and Ps5 is better than whatever garbage you wrote. You get access to everything pretty much. Like there's no way you will deny PS5 doesn't have great exclusives there unless you're a blind fanboy.
@@lord461 not sure if you're replying to me or not but I own a ps5 and I gave series x away becuase it doesn't have enough exclusive games this gen so the PS5 is the best console I ever owned so nothing garbage about what I wrote and maybe take a day off from being a dick.
Souls likes are mostly low ffort junk, i've heard nothing but praise for mortal shell but when i played it i hated every second of it

@@bellzeppelin6913 Making an ARPG isn’t copying. It’s a genre genius! Is every racing game Forza-like? Every RPG Zelda-like? ARPGs are about combat. Heavy and light attacks blocking parrying etc. Souls didn’t invent this. They did it well but didn’t invent it

That take is soo dumb lol. soulsborne is a formula from the dark atmosphere, gameplay, story telling and hard difficulty, and if a game ticks most of those checklist it will be universally considered by the gaming community as a soulsborne

you need to stop with this whole "fromsoftware is just dark souls" shit. they released DOZENS of games before demons souls. they have TONS of games that are absolutely nothing like dark souls. its not a "love letter to from software" to copy ONE of their franchises. its literally just trying to cash in on that elden ring money while from twiddles their thumbs and waits till christmas to sell the "DLC" that was just a piece of the game they ripped out to charge us again for later.
I'm guessing you hate souls games because Fromsoft's most popular games ARE the souls games by far. Also noticed you took a dig at both Lies Of P and Elden Ring. Yeah, you're definitely not a souls fan.
Elden Ring was a complete game. I don’t mind paying for DLC. I don’t understand how you can call Elden Rung an incomplete game
@@eligreg99 because the maps for the DLC were literally in the game files since launch?
@@FingerinUrDaughter Have you ever worked on a game before? Just because a DLC is in a game file doesn’t mean it’s in its final form or complete. They could’ve literally already started working on the DLC as they were putting on the finishing touches for the main game.
@@eligreg99 its in the game, fully implemented. it just lacks items and enemies, kind of how the northern limits on demons souls was 100% finished and on disc, but it never got enough sales for them to bother with releasing the DLC.
