How or do you create any other water proofing between shower pan and floor tile ie: stopping water migration

Greetings BRT! I am sure that you would not install it that way unless you were absolutely confident but was curious if adding some sort of a transition tape (fiber mesh etc) over where studs and 3/4 sub-ply meet would be over kill or actually adding additional rigidity? No matter how good they are secured (studs & ply) I cant imagine some independent movement hence thin-set cracking down the line. Any words of wisdom or you think I inhaled too much pvc primer? Great video as always! 🔥💪🛁🚽📐
There will be wedi subliner that will span over that area 4" onto pan. I hear what your concerned about. But the subliner is supposed to be able to handle any normal expansion and contraction of wood. As long as the subfloor is adhered well, I don't see it being an issue 👍
@@BathroomRemodelingTeacher Thanks a bunch Steve! You and your videographer (a better half I assume) are doing amazing job. There are few guys/channels that kick ass here on YT (we know who they are lol) but you are the only one with such a detail. Since I am a pro I can say with certainty that this is the ONLY way how one can actually learn. Also in my humble opinion, ones knowledge is worth a dust unless you are ready to share. And you are. That makes one very, very special! I can just imagine how much work and dedication this whole thing takes but it will pay off. It always does. I hope that other people (pro or diy) will notice and recognize the difference and appreciate it. All the best. 👊
Do you have a link or name of that door system and nook insert?
I'll post the video of that door here eventually. but I ultimately was not happy with some of the components. Required way too much silicon to adhere to tile. no reason for it....I'll try to find the model and get back to you 👍

@@mnice59 here's the link to the model of door I used. It was 5/16" glass which I don't really like, and the silicone to attach wall channels was a bit ridiculous... www.build.com/dreamline-shdr-6348760/s1240314?uid=2965265
