Waterproofing a curbless shower🚿 | Wedi | PLAN LEARN BUILD

Building a curbless shower has become a lot easier these days 😄 So many new systems that make it easier for tradesman & DIYers. In this video I demonstrate the waterproofing methods for one of my favorite shower systems - WEDI 😊
Here are some of the main factors that make WEDI a great choice for a Curbless Shower:
1. Shower pans come 3/4" thick. Perfect for aligning with a 3/4" thick subfloor 👍
2. Easy to cut & fit to a custom size. If your space is unsquare or has an odd width, no problem 😃
3. Sealant application for waterproofing is very easy & mostly foolproof
4. Speed 🏃 Very quick to get to tiling. Most projects waterproofing in complete in one day
5. Foam board.....no dust, light weight
6. Fully waterproof through board, no worries of compromising waterproofing when dropping a tool 😃

Thank you for continuing your teaching! You are the man, I trust you. Have you tried the peel and stick Ditra or Tile Redi in conjunction with curbless? Love to hear your opinion. I am pretty sure I will go with Wedi because it it more flexible than Tile Redi. The new Wedi click drain seems to have better adjustment to tile height. The Tile Coach has exhumed some Schluter drains that have leaked and has been using liquid membrane over it as a result.

Thanks, what if the owner does not want the existing bathroom tile removed when putting in a curbless shower ie……. No 3 feet of water proofing

I personally won’t do it unless it’s a slab home. I can’t see just sealing to existing tile and being okay with a wood subfloor. Last longer than you’d be liable most likely, but would fail at some point I’m sure
