i will say, tho, when you wash your body or your car's, you work from the top, down. that keeps the dirt off the parts you already washed :) He was working the bottom of the rear quarters upward.
sorry guys, but 20 years of sitting outside...it's in good shape. For example, rear windows on these were notorious for leaking water into the trunk, and that gas tank would be on the ground by now. The rear leaf springs? they would have busted loose, since designed to hold up the car's weight, and poked thru the floors. As for the cost to restore it...yeah, nearly ALL cars cost more to restore :) but a charger like this is worth dough, hollywood would grab one of these just to put in a roll cage and send it jumping in a F&F movie. the fact this is an SE and optioned, it's worth taking to a pro who can put floors into a unibody car and have it still come out straight. i'd hate to think what good raw material you guys are cutting up, thinking it's too far gone. sometimes we think if we can't accomplish something, that makes it impossible.
It's not that bad...considering a used front intact grille on these is over a grand. Body wise? I could show you some real horror pics...a '67 Mustang with a beautiful paint job that a customer came by the shop with all proud. The rear quarters were *riveted* on. Yes...underneath that *beautifuly* paint job LOL. Oh and the frame was previously buckled and heated and what looked like *sledgehammered* back into some sort of shape and was twisted LOL. I guess no one got underneath the car at any point recently.
***** At what, the Mustang this poor girl brought in or the Charger?! The Mustang had a happy ending... ;) Once we showed her what we found she was willing to find both rear quarters and my Bro' heated up and straightened/fixed the frame on a Blackhawk. Car looked like new when it left the shop and she couldn't be happier. She still sends us Christmas cards LOL. Even if we lost money I just couldn't see her getting screwed over like that as the car had relatively low miles, a nice original interior, etc. If I find pics i'll post 'em...
it happens i have a 70 chevelle thats been sitting for about 10 years now. time has its way of slipping by. ill prob sell her soon. a shame shes a good 12 second car but no time
Yea I guess there are other reasons the guy could have let it go like that.. But its always nice to see them come from the grave to be re built, you should really think of getting rid of your Chevy so maybe we can see the same :p
Hey....there's thing that pops up and happens unexpectedly. It's called *life*. I had to hide my old "High School Rides" from friends, most family and definitely where I was living as ...I wouldn't have them today. No way. My family blows so bad if they thought they could make $50 profit...they would've been gone in '83. They didn't even know about them LOL. I had to put myself through school, get a job, buy a house w/ a garage then suffered a serious back injury while on vacation overseas. The fact I still have them is nothing short of a miracle. Thank GOD I have some decent friends who let me store them. Now, all these years later...I get to take them apart and give them the attention they deserve. Well worth the wait.... So yeah, that's how things like this can happen.
^ ^ ^ And i'm ranting about my '69 Camaro Z/28 302 4-spd. Black on black w/ gold stripes.... My Aunt/Uncle hid it for me in their garage (as long as I "cleaned it out" LOL) so they had it for 35 years. My Uncle started it faithfully every Month and drove it front a few feet, and back a few feet. Without fail. I can't owe them enough. I'm *finally* just getting to this car now. The paint is faded and it needs a grille and a front fender...
Every since I was knee high to a grass hopper, when I saw the 69 Dodge Charger ‘the General Lee’ on the “Dukes of Hazard” I fell in love with this car and have dreamed of having one.
Amazing. I pulled a 68 charger, 383 4-spd out of a barn a few years back in almost this exact condition. Just rebuilt the the 383 and picking it up today.
It's actually not too bad. I've done *waaay* worse. So the interior has to be stripped and the floors re-done (the interior was completely coming out anyway as it was ....just totally wrong). They sell the entire replacement floor-pans for these in one piece. Would you believe one of the most expensive pieces to restore/replace on these is....the grille?! Don't believe me then look it up. I'd seriously get a 383 and an original 727 torque-flight transmission and run with it. And have plenty of black primer ready.....LOL....
Steve Idxp Just think, when it is all said and done you can look back at what you started with and the end result and say to yourself I brought her back from the brink.
Yeah...I don't get it. Pretty much all of the classics we get we rip down to the bare bones (frame or unibody) and build it back up anyway. I love watching these various "classic car restoration" shows and they flip out when they see a rust spot the size of a quarter. Really girls? Pull up your panty hose and fix and patch the damn thing. Don't squirt out your Nuva Ring. What's with all the drama? Gotta be a TV thing. Getting to upgrade the brakes, suspension, etc. A labor of love......
As a detailing freak, so could I. Not to brag (Okay, to brag) when we got my grandfather's Chevelle running again and back to our garage (His is full, ours was not) I spent my 15th birthday waxing it. All night. I'm about to turn 17. Now, how many kids these days would do that?
This is great. I love when people find these cars out in a field or in the back of a barn buried under boxes or covered in weeds and moss, and they take it home and clean it out and start the restoration work on it. These cars are a major part of American Automobile history and it's very important that we preserve them and restore them or atleast make it so theey are still around in another 30-40-50 years from now. To me its kind of like adopting an abused or neglected animal. It deserves a new home with an owner that will take good care of it and make it right again. Good luck with whatever you do to it. Mopar Guy 4 LIFE, over and out!!

That pressure wash was the most satisfying thing I have ever watched in years. Hahah. Great choice of music too by the way. I love your 69 charger man, super cool. My all time favorite car!
The classics many times come in 3's. 55-57 Chevys, 55-57 T-Birds, 64-66 T-Birds, 68-70 Chargers, 68-70 Road Runners, 68-70 Super Bees, 68-70 Coronet R/Ts, 67-69 Camaros, 68-70 Chevelles, 34-36 Ford Coupes....shall I continue???
only one of Us Car Guys can see a "Diamond in the Ruff"! i've caught hell for over 40 yrs. because of that talent! Lol! I'm a Ford guy, but the first car i ever tried to buy was a '69 Charger, thanks to Peter Fonda!
Boy that pressure washer worked some miracles, love the color, & is lookin good! my cousin took me for a ride in his '68 Charger about 130 mph. back in '75' or '76 scared the Hell out of a 15 yr. old boy! I Loved It!
I drive a 75 Firebird. It wasn't used for 11 years ago. Until I realized it had a purpose. To show off the dumb modern retards who's the muscle car king. They always do there research and say it has 200 HP. But it actually has over 700 HP, this is not a engine swap or a replacement. This is the original engine and it's age is around 43 years old as well as the entire car. Forgot to mention it's the Formula 400 series. Drives like a dream come true. Which it is....
why should that be bad? you asked... well... too much electronic crap, system for this, system for that, fuck that, this car on the vid a simple car... sit in it, turn it on, and drive it... today's car are overfucked with electronic bullshit, too complicated to repair and also very expensive, and for everything you need ELECTRIC ENERGY... the old cars were simple to build, simple to repair, and also inexpensive to repair... that's why new cars are GARABAGE
Think about it, maybe someone didn't have money to keep this piece of art in good shape? I would cry if i had to make the same decision. My life goal is to buy dodge charger 1969 and make it mine.
People need to think about it. Those cars were not classics when they were sold and/or abandoned. Many people sold, and *Scrapped* these cars when they were having issues, or the owner couldn't afford it. Think about this, after the mid 70's fuel crisis, how many people do you think sold their high performance cars? Tons of people did. Some people even had them crushed and scrapped. My dad had to sell his 1972 Mustang Mach 1 sometime in the late 70's, or in the 80's (He never told me what year) due to the fuel crisis. God only knows where that machine is now.
Maybe they were not classics and it's most likely possible that the fuel crisis was a factor i just couldn't see people abandoning their cars, they'd sell them probably or they were abandoned because they couldn't sell them. It's just that if i am going to buy a car, i want to keep it for a very long time (maintain it well) or sell it to someone who will do the same. But then sports/classic cars also depreciate too and people's mindset is if they can't get any money out of it, they waited too long. Any high performance car during the fuel crisis would have depreciated regardless of the mileage, year or well maintained.
Here in the UK I used to see a yellow 71 Dodge charger sitting in someone's front garden slowly rusting away thanks to our crap weather, it was there for about 10 years it's gone now hopefully someone got it to restore. I hope I see it again one day all done and back on the road 🤞
At least Dylan is happy finding just one Dodge Charger. There’s another guy on UA-cam who buys every single charger he sees, no matter the condition. Hoarding chargers. That’s why people can’t find their own dream car to restore. One guy has 100 chargers. It’s just greed.
man ive been looking for a recovery and full rebuild and ive finally found it! you got yourself a new subscriber and I cant wait to watch it come together!!
yea no current cars will survive long enough. Cars are made to fall apart now days made to be replaced companies learned hoe to "properly build" a car now so you have no choice to replace that car you bought 20 years ago. and chances are in the next 20 years heavy fines will be placed on those that want to still drive that old muscle car for the environments sake
A lot of people likes exotics cars (Lambo's, Bugatti's, Pagani's). When somebody asked me what is my dreamed car, i always respond, "A 1968 Dodge Charger". It's the only car that likes me. This car is a 69, but i like it too.
If I were to ever find an abandoned ‘69 or ‘70 Dodge Charger......I’m gonna completely lose my mind and damn near squeal from pure excitement, that car....is just such a beautiful beast
it is so funny when people say "nowadays cars are crap and look at those great cars of yesterdays" - these were exactly the thoughts of those who abandoned this Charger.
Pat Barker back then new cars rattled and sometimes wobbled from the factory, nothing wrong with the car per se just people not used to newer cars making such sounds, same today, if a 2011 car loses a bolt you go oh well nvmd, but if you brand new mercedes would do so, you would freak out.
Ive just bought a canadian car to restore, didnt realise it was going to be so hard to find the original solid oak wheels and body panels, i had to make the steamy boiler and whale oil lamps myself😀
My father had this car when I was a little kid. Dark green, wooden steering wheel, fast engine. Drove me to school in it every morning. He would always say it was the best car he ever owned.
I had a 69 Plymouth Roadrunner 383, Red with blck hood stripes. Hurst super shifter with short throw. Holley 750 double pumper. All else was stock, loved that car
Back when cars were made well, with real metal, real engines, and real handling. I am kidding. Today's cars are amazing. They create V-4 cars that put out 310 horsepower. Now that is amazing. Still, these cars are iconic, nonetheless.
yep, ford Taunus and Saab Sonnet used V4 engines, though for i4's, there is a modified Audi over in europe, it's still got the same 1.8 liter engine it received from factory, but it's output? it was modified to have 1000+ wheel horsepower dyno proven, so yep, i'd say todays tech is amazing, though build quality is somewhat... lacking
Sad to see a car with delicacy and precise care to other people as it rusts away and by the way most people find abandoned cars in Sweden but I hate to see cars rust away like a piece of gobstoppers in rain all day.
Uma pena não fabricar mais esses carros e os q ainda funciona custa uma fortuna esse aí abandonado tenho certeza q alguém pagaria caro nela só pra reconstruir
LOL....funny you should say that. As I LOVE taking old classic American muscle and say...leaving the body in black primer while rebuilding the engine/tranny (drivetrain) and floor boards, etc. Little by little and driving it around and watch everyone go completely ape thinking you don't know what you have, etc. Seriously?? I have 3 '69 Camaro's...yes I kept all my cars from High School (i'm old and bought and kept every '69 Camaro I could get my hands on and buy..it took me years and years to pay them off...around $3K was the average price I paid in the real early 80's) and beyond and people just go ape when you drive these things around in black primer. Like, what, I can't afford paint and this thing just *landed* in my lap?! LOL. Hilarious the crap people have said to me. My favorite is (various random guy approaching me) "well i've talked it over with my wife...and i'm willing to give you $5K cash for it". Me: "Oh boy...!!! So should I tell the guy in New Zealand that offered me $75K for it the deal is off"? Yes I have a real '69 Z/28 302 4-spd. The crap people say to me is hilarious. As soon as you put it in primer people automatically think "ohhh...he can't afford paint. Hun...let's offer him $5-7K max as i'm sure he hasn't a clue what he's doing". Hilarious. And yes i'm wearing ripped up jeans and a Ramones shirt. And I know "Ramones" isn't a line of clothing and no I don't look the part of a "professional"...LOL.... Total dipshits. Just because something is in black primer doesn't mean we can't afford paint....LOL..... Not *everyone* wants to turn their car into a "trailer queen" and give it a $7500 paint job and never take it out.....
+Steve Idxp lucky! i do the same, but i was never cool enough in highschool for muscle... fixed that now. i drive nothing but muscle now. 1968 firebird 461 stroker is my daily, and what i use to haul cars homw
Man same here I'm from Oklahoma lol we make shitty money but have some of the most beautiful mustangs and trucks down here... BTW I daily drive a 77 Chevy c10
You are lucky to find a car like that,it’s so rare, I wish I could find one, that body style has stayed in my mind since I first saw a 1968 charger as a kid working in a gas station in a small town in New Mexico, My cousin bought one darker blue, had it in El Paso for the longest time,I asked him if he still had it,he said he got rear ended,I rode in that car & it’s something you never forget,he would always open it up on the freeway,it was a blast man,I’ll always be looking for one,I don’t know if I could take on the floor like yours but I would give it a hell of a try, love muscle cars, had a 1969 olds 442 in high school.ok later
Isn't the "Jamming with Edward" a group of Jagger, Watts and Wyman from Stones? When i watched the video i clearly heard Mick Jagger's voice and just thought it was some rare songs by The Stones!
I remember when the 68 charger hit the dealers,I would ride my bicycle up to the Chrysler - Plymouth dealer and just sit and look at the chargers and roadrunners.i was in love with these cars
this is my favorite car, my dream is to rescue a charger rt 69 and restore it. It's hard for me that I'm Brazilian and I can't go to the United States :(
Brings back memories. I had one just like this, without the power windows, same colors with the vinyl top, back around the early '80's. Paid $150.00 for it. Transmission failing, brakes shot, right rear quarter creamed. Sold it nearly as cheap as I bought it. In hindsight, wish I would have kept it.
When the muck was being sprayed off. Brought tears to my eyes. She’s coming back to life. Sorry I’m 5 years late
But so true!
It’s ok you should just go watch the restoration series he just finished that took 5 years

Shame on the person who abandoned this car. One of the coolest rides I've ever seen.
It might have not been intentional, we don't know what happened
Should be thankful the guy didn't sell it for scrap in the 70's and 80's like a hundred thousand others did.
These chargers are honestly the most beautiful machines ever made

dude those tires look REALLY good for sitting for 20 years
but the rust is killer
Surprisingly they held air long enough to move it around.
wait, is it your personal vehicle, or are you gonna fix and sell it?
or, as I would do, is it gonna be a General Lee?
and the chrome bumpers too :3

This is just depressing how could someone let this happen.

A legend left behind😔
Even rotten, after 20 fricken years, its still A HELL OF A BEAUTY!
Well, it’s a 1969 Charger. Rotten or not, still one of, if not *the* most beautiful car built.
I cried tears of joy when all that dirt was washed away. :D
I know, right?!
Jeffery Christopher it gave me 8 days of sleepless nights.😂😂😂
The guy who owns that carwash cried too
So did the car.
Talk about sins being washed away. Geez
Only American muscle enthusiast will appreciate these videos! Thank you for sharing!!!
David Gonzalez i am a jdm cars enthusiast and i appreciate this vid #same_passion
David Gonzalez me too even tho i appreciate german heros
all the good cars are good man lol😂
No shit gonzo
only people with blue shirts will appreciate these videos
Excellent video. Charger reborn.
Nowdays people instead of making cars, they make computers on wheels
Why should that be bad? I would love to own a Tesla
why should that be bad? you asked...
well... too much electronic crap, system for this, system for that, fuck that, this car on the vid a simple car... sit in it, turn it on, and drive it... today's car are overfucked with electronic bullshit, too complicated to repair and also very expensive, and for everything you need ELECTRIC ENERGY... the old cars were simple to build, simple to repair, and also inexpensive to repair...
that's why new cars are GARABAGE
@@xgamerbih could not agree more
@@xgamerbih facts and all that computer bullshit jacks up the price of the vehicle. People are paying 25 grand for a Chevy Cruze smh
You won't see no tesla in a video of a 1969 Charger!
That is one thrashed Charger! I would have bought it too.... it's just too sad to see a car like that rust away.
Yeah i know, people throw away/neglect great cars such as this.
+Maksymilian Miękoś thats my dream car
Wow that survived the Duke boys era from being destroyed I wish I could find me one ,one of my dream cars
I wouldn't have known where to start if I had found this. Nice old gem
Vhh
you would start with putting your hand on the hood and saying, "dont worry baby nobodys gona hurt you nomore"
first disassembling then the body cure.
My dream car. My heart broke a million times with the intro.
Cool right my friend
I ended up getting a 2018 camaro rs instead of a charger. But the charger is next.
Here in the UK I used to see a yellow 71 Dodge charger sitting in someone's front garden slowly rusting away thanks to our crap weather, it was there for about 10 years it's gone now hopefully someone got it to restore. I hope I see it again one day all done and back on the road 🤞
that intro man. so sweet.
Olympic Gaming totally agree
thats called music brother..... music that is
So true
Sounds a bit more modern ... whoever it is ... Loved it, so sweet
YEAH , LUV IT !! BLUES WITH A CAPITOL < B > AS IT'S SUPPOSED2 B !!!!!!
But why would someone abandon something like that in the first place??
They were probably on drugs, mentally ill, retarded, drunk, or all of what I said
DiamondHackerYT // DHYT not even drugs would make you that stupid to abandon this beauty
Dickheads
It was abandoned in the movie called steve mcqueen bullit 1969 movie
@@erickmonroy1348 I'm looking for a charger to bring Italy... Can you help me with shops website? Thanks dude
At least Dylan is happy finding just one Dodge Charger. There’s another guy on UA-cam who buys every single charger he sees, no matter the condition. Hoarding chargers. That’s why people can’t find their own dream car to restore. One guy has 100 chargers. It’s just greed.
Very Cool car, and I love the music you matched to the video. Chargers are one of my all time favorite cars.
Thanks!
+Dylan McCool did you ever finish her
Man I wanna cry. Thumbs up to the rescue heroes
man ive been looking for a recovery and full rebuild and ive finally found it! you got yourself a new subscriber and I cant wait to watch it come together!!
just imagine us 40 years from now doing this to a 2015 charger, lol not likely
Not likely at all.
Very likely
Font V no its not
yea no current cars will survive long enough.
LU7HQW my dream car is the 69 charger
LU7HQW exactly. Same here.
70 charger
I am only 12 years old and this is my dream car one day I will find one I don't give a f*ck if people laugh and it rusty
AJ Medina777 even if it is rusty and you have the money you could always restore it
The car and the music are dope!!!! Love it!
Hope I see more videos as she comes back to life.
Fred Maxwell she came back to life :)
the car look like its smiling
They used a wench
Please,.....whatever you do to it,don't put 20 inch Chip Foose wheels on her.
She was born a Hot-Rod. Foose turns cars into circus vehicles.
Mark Pavlik yeah they shoulda keep those stock rims...the fat tires gives it a more insane stance
How much better it Looked after a simple hose down was amazing
Jazzmyn sb hell ya I thought the same thing.that algae was serious
yes
opo cok
Awesome! See people they are still out there to be found
Yep,hope I can get two or three more myself...
I just wish they were not found on these conditions
I love dodge charger
Oh right in the fuel tank :(. That hurts.
If it were my car I'd keep the body in the condition you found it and fix all the mechanical bits and holes in the floor. That thing looks sweet.
If I were to ever find an abandoned ‘69 or ‘70 Dodge Charger......I’m gonna completely lose my mind and damn near squeal from pure excitement, that car....is just such a beautiful beast
I've found my new fetish
LazyRock k
X2
I think we all have it too .I used to masturbate in mine & fuck every girl that wanted ride in mine
it is so funny when people say "nowadays cars are crap and look at those great cars of yesterdays" - these were exactly the thoughts of those who abandoned this Charger.
He would always say it was the best car he ever owned.
love the music & the video now i subscribe as well hope you find more abandoned cars & trucks.
that's one hell of a find
Seeing that paint job come back 2 life is priceless n satisfying
I had a 69 Plymouth Roadrunner 383, Red with blck hood stripes. Hurst super shifter with short throw. Holley 750 double pumper. All else was stock, loved that car
Nice! You can never go wrong with a hopped up B body.
Nice camera work on this video for some nice angles. Nice(but sad) video too. Fitting choice of music. ;-(
Thank the previous owner for allowing you to rescue a classic.
Sure wish i could've done so back in the 80's 90's. My stable would've been full.
That first power washing is always the most fun part! Getting the layers of crap off to see what you've got!
Love that cleaning at 4:10 :)
What sick monster would do such a thing..?
Back when cars were made well, with real metal, real engines, and real handling.
I am kidding. Today's cars are amazing. They create V-4 cars that put out 310 horsepower. Now that is amazing. Still, these cars are iconic, nonetheless.
Yes I agree with you, but V4 engines don't exist lol
Yep folks who buy a faithfully restored Charger or most other cars from the sixties for "performance" in today's context are in for disappointment.
they exist but inline 4 is way more common
Oh, my bad
yep, ford Taunus and Saab Sonnet used V4 engines, though for i4's, there is a modified Audi over in europe, it's still got the same 1.8 liter engine it received from factory, but it's output? it was modified to have 1000+ wheel horsepower dyno proven, so yep, i'd say todays tech is amazing, though build quality is somewhat... lacking
Sad to see a car with delicacy and precise care to other people as it rusts away and by the way most people find abandoned cars in Sweden but I hate to see cars rust away like a piece of gobstoppers in rain all day.
Nice job restoring this classic beauty buddy.

Owh man just watching This video makes me more happy we got a 1970 charger in our garage ;)
This is the first video I ever seen from yoir channel and I been watching your videos ever since !
Don't paint it just redo the interior and fix the engine
*Sweeet*
Daniel Johnson, nah gotta make it look nice.... if I decide to go a car show for classics...
I never understood that logic. Why would you want your car to look like a rusted piece of shit? PAINT IT!
This had been my dream car for ever and I am planning to do the same as you when I am older.
This cannot become a dream car only collector's car
That was a cool video. I watch every one you make. Thanks for all of the hard work to keep everyone entertained. Killbuck Ohio.
My dream car! Sucks that theyre expensive and hard to find.. im poor af lol..
Man same here I'm from Oklahoma lol we make shitty money but have some of the most beautiful mustangs and trucks down here... BTW I daily drive a 77 Chevy c10
Where do you find these kinds of things. I SO BADLY want to find my own 69 Charger and restore it myself.
what some people see as a piece of crap, i see the most beautiful car ever
this dude, is really lucky because these cars are REALLY rare you dont even know how rare
If i ever found one of these it's fate would instantly become general lee
You're right!
Seriously ....a perfect song to go with this vid. Kudos.....

Pressure wash was worth it. WOW.
"how to wash a car which has been unused for 20 years"
For 20+ years that is in VERY good shape
It's time to get that ole Charger over to Cooter's garage to give that Ridge Runner overhauled 01.
Another good Mopar find.
Garry Fuller Sr I
Brings back memories. I had one just like this, without the power windows, same colors with the vinyl top, back around the early '80's. Paid $150.00 for it. Transmission failing, brakes shot, right rear quarter creamed. Sold it nearly as cheap as I bought it. In hindsight, wish I would have kept it.
The 2 thousand dislikes are from the people that can’t have one
Yeah,i agree with you,Tucker.
Classic Muscle Cars are the Best cars of all times ❤
I'm actually working on a 1974 dodger charger SE. Glad to see your saving this one!
