Something undeniably beautiful about an old car sitting defeated like that until she gets another chance at life. Thank you for reviving that piece of history Westen.
Even in that shape, still a beautiful car. I had one back in the late 90's. Bought it sight unseen at an estate auction. Dude that passed had 14 old cars sandwiched into an old barn. I got lucky and took a '69 that hadn't run in years, was moldy, dusty, and needed interior work, but the frame was good and there was very little rust. Got it at a steal for $2500. The lady selling them just wanted them gone. I was fortunate to have a small group of buddies who were car guys and we put some work into her and got her running smooth. Painted it a really cool burnt orange with some sheen to it. Drove that car for about six years, right up through college. Definitely got noticed and had quite a few young ladies check out the back seat. Unfortunately I had a run in with a drunk driver one evening that did damage and ended with the car wrapped around a large maple tree. Too bent to hell to save. Now that I'm older and have some toy money to spend I'm looking for another one that is either completely redone, or close to it. This definitely brought back some memories.
That's such a tragedy for a car like that to end the way it did. This is a good example of why drinking and driving don't mix, it could end the lives of both people and cars that are loved and cherished by many
This is my dream car and I only wish I could pick up one for that price right now. I don't even want to buy a restored or built piece because I want to put my own time in and make it my own but it seems like everyone finds one and wants to sell a shell with nothing in it for 30 grand or more. I'll just have to wait a while longer.

While that casing is cracked on the Dodge motorhome transmission you want the gears out of it! The motorhomes had lower gears in the transmission. Swap them into a long tail 727. Old drag racing secret. Neat old charger.
Dont know about the industrial 413 though...thats what that motorhome has..read the air cleaner 265 hp was the industrial 413,yes they made them in h.d trucks until the late 70's car 413 ended in 1965..
I have a 1970 Commander Motorhome with the 265 hp 413 in it. I didn't notice a raised water pump with connections to the 2 heads on Westens motor. That is the easiest way to distinguish between the 413 industrial and 440 motorhome engines. The other way is exhaust manifolds.
Sadly Westen didn't really give a good view of the engine until after the two weeks later. Not sure what the 1971 or 72 440 has for Hp but would think about the same as the 413 would be about right. Neither were high compression engines and the 413 was setup for better cooling then the 440 and more industrial applications. Surprisingly they offered the 413 for as long as they did the 440 in motorhomes and in big trucks. I wonder which one was the more expensive engine option. I am guessing the 413 was a more expensive option then the 440.
not true. old wives tale. there was no low 1st 727, that was the 904/999 trans. however, the 727 motorhome trans has a 4 pinion planetary, and more clutch packs. you can get aftermarket low 1st gears now though.

That thing is sick. Love it. My old man has a 70 'cuda with the 440 4 speed that he did a frame off restoration on himself. All numbers matching, etc. Sounds very similar.
How exactly do you do a “frame off” restoration on a unibody car? 🙄
I love how fast and spontaneously done this project was done!
What ever happened to the awd police charger with 1k hp?
Congratulations on the car man. Beautiful
Nice rescue! So glad to see you have saved a classic.. So epic! Well done boys!.
I strait up yell out in happiness WESTEN YOU DID IT AGAIN
@let's watch ! didn't care for any of that video
great job, car sounds great - great to see you enjoying bringing a great car icon back to life.
This is the first video of yours that I am watching and let me tell you, Hearing that car come to life is just 😆😆😆 and now I’m a subscriber!!! Awesome build 🤙😎
Your attitude is amazing, I love it, care free and relaxed, and you figure stuff out, so hey go have fun and enjoy, it’s your life , live it👍🏻😂
I love it when Westen laughed like a mad scientist! LMFAO!
That's really a cool car though!
I can't wait to see what adventures you get into with it!
Great job!
Just like the old roadkill episode just done 20 times faster. Love it!
I can’t stop laughing about how similar this is to what I’m doing, I have a 64 lemans with no engine or tranny and we pulled a 64 gto engine out of a crack shack and we just put it in, close to letting it be able to run
For the first time I get excited over a yt video. Good job, guys, you really made my day!
I absolutely love that you did this! My dream car as well I've always wanted one. Making me miss my recent build a 94 Silverado that didn't run and I swapped it over from tbi to a 4 barrel carburetor with everything else aftermarket.
Westen you crazy Dude that Charger is sitting right & sounds awesome! This is one of the funniest videos you have done in a long time! I really liked the motor home disassembly that was epic! I am looking forward to more videos on this Charger!
