My issue is I cant access coco except for Amazon so I go get peat moss bales and mix with rice hulls and use down to earth brand but I cant get my soil p.h. below 7! I use veg mix, bloom mix, oyster shell, azomite, and once a month insect frass and castings tea... I ph my water @5.8 to 6.2 just try lower soil ph but it stays just about 7.0 no matter what...?? How can get that perfect soil ph?
John G to high ph you run possibilities nitrogen toxicity & nutrient lockout which i never thought would happen but it does and it's not fun deal with.
Thanks for having me on Chris!! I hope I gave all correct information and didn't screw anything up too much LOL!! Such a great interview experience! Cheers Brother!!!
Awesome video dawgo and great info! Tyty! Can’t seem to find mamouth p where I’m from. Can u recommend something else besides mamouth p? I hear good things about recharge? Thoughts?
I’m not being a suck ass but seeing you comment so positively on other growers videos is one of the reasons why I love you guys over at Cannabis Lifestyle TV.
Love your interviews Chris and allowing your guests to talk without interruption, great questions too, bravo! Dawgo bringing the bark to the grow house, thanks for all the great info. Peace from the north bay.
this was an excellent, informative episode. so many things talked about and the host keeps it rolling nicely without interrupting. i learned a lot and will definitely be checking out your other episodes. also the timestamps for what you talk about are a **realllly** useful touch
Same here! I Drink RO with flavor shots or coffee maker, Navage nose cleaner and water pick toothbrush. I add a super small pinch of salt to the coffee grounds. Keeps my Coffee Maker and humidifier clean. The RO filter I have is only 1 gal of RO to 1/2 gal waste. I use the waste water in the summer for my outdoor plants (after it sits for at least 24 hours).
Yo this was very informational. I just started in coco about 4 months ago and I love it more than soil. Bigger plants and quicker growing. My PH was 6.5🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ and I was close to the end of flowering and dropped down closer to 5.8 I almost immediately noticed a boom in growth. Thanks, man keep it up
I love the Guests you have been having on Garden Talk, and thank you for breaking up your last few videos into chapters. It makes it nice when going back to revisit info in your videos.
Seriously I need this video on speed dial.....so much info that's really helpful, minus the blah blah of so many other sites. Brilliant video...thank you Chris & Dawgo
I would love to hear you address rain-water and distilled water in one of your discussions of water. Every discussion of water always seems to be either "city" or RO water. Another great guest, another relevant topic, another dynamite episode.
It's apparently illegal to collect rainwater here in NYC. Kinda ridiculous. I'm assuming it was a law passed during the West Nile virus mosquito scare, risk of standing water going stagnant and all. I'd love to hear anyone's experience with using distilled water. It's as close to RO as I can get right now. Our tap here comes out between 40 and 75ppm I'm just not keen on adding any chlorinated water to my coco with active microbials.
This channel just has great interview after great interview and this one is no exception! What an awesome, informative interview - and the timing is perfect-I'm just starting my first coco coir grow.
My new favorite thing has been listening/ watchin the podcasts while trimming up my herb and dude it makes trimming enjoyable again(loses its joy after the first pound 😂)loving it man, learning a lot of things i didn't know i needed to know ya know? Keep it up brother 💪 🦨🦍⛽️💥🔥🔥🔥💯
Just grabbed a ChilLED Light the other day due to your advice - best thing I ever got. A Vipaspectra XS1500 for veg and a X3 mini Bloom version from ChilLED for bloom. In a 3 X 3 tent its the best combo Ive ever used!!
When growing blueberries, raspberries or something like thoes, use bright colored (green/orange/yellow) rubber toy snakes to keep the birds from eating your berries. A friend told me and it Works amazing 😎😎
Agree with no need to flush. No need for runoff either. If you don’t give excessive nutes, you do not need flushing or runoff. Top water by hand 2x daily works.
I’m on the ridiculous mission to help others to grow simpler. I use coco coir(KWAH), I condition my aged tap water with Calmag and my one part nute. I don’t pH and I don’t water to run off. Doing so well.
after 50 years raising tropical fish i picked up a little knowledge on 02 in water. my main concern about the range of o2 infusion from water falling/draining into a res 4 times a day from watering is that you are not getting much gas exchange into your res and would definately recomend putting an airstone in the res.
19:00 regarding food+ drain and oxygen, every time you flood the water is pushing all the old air out of the pot like a piston, and then as the water drains it draws fresh air into the medium.
your guest said 50% humidity for veg and 60% for flower - this should be the other way round - also i wouldn't bother using cannazym until at least 3-4 weeks of flower as this is when root growth dramatically slows down with growth
I'm thinking about the switch to coco from soil for my own personal preference. Thanks so much for all u put out content wise. I really dig on Vader and all on his team just like your team Chris. Rob gives me alot to ask, pigeons is flat out my hero, and u yourself are so pro. I wish u all great things
If u like watering go for it. I just got done with my experiment with it and it was a pain in the ass but totally worth it. Double the size of soil. I'm figuring out was cause I had to water like 3 times a day daily. She was a hungry bitch. Maxibloom n koolbloom liquid in flower and holy wow man. Oh and cal mag.
I do coco bricks, no perlite, top water 1-2x daily. Preferably 2x daily. But if I get fungus gnats then I bottom or side water so the top can be a little drier. 3.5 gallon trash can inside a 5 gallon bucket, Lots of holes in the trash can for drainage. I feed with cana a/b and also some cal/mag through much of the grow.
THANKYOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO. You can't imagine how many questions you guys answered. I'm quite a seasoned grower as well but I've had so many doubts about all kinds of things. This cleared up all of my bug bears. A+++ content.
Been using Canna for awhile after many bottled nutrients and a few dry organic amendments which are always great. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Canna, but I’m an avid fan of doing what works for You! Great episode!
once I switched from tap to RO my headaches and problems were gone forever !!! full line up canna nutrients. keep it kiss like grow bro dawgo says, no issues only gas medicine 😎
Add alittle clay to your coco (like just a couple handfuls per 3gal pot) and you'll increase your cat ion exchange sites. When you add it make sure it is completely dry and can be broke down to a powder. And mix it like a dry nutrient. But it will increase your water holding capacity
Mind blown! Satisfying to watch you guys communicate well, making it easy to listen. Please! more about all organic and coco plz! Thank you for your videos!
This was so helpful. New to coco, growing Autos with the canna line. In flower with an EC of 1.6, but using tap water. On the edge of overfed, now adding pk13/14 I should probability dilute the reservoir
If coir holds on to magnesium, give it only magnesium as epsom salt. No need or benefit to adding calcium nitrate which is in "calmag". A little dolomite lime does wonders too. I used canna as "soil" charged with gaia green 2-8-4, earthworm castings, and zero run off. It works amazingly.
What a great video. Thank you for the info. Only been growing a little over a year so I have a lot to learn. Flowering about 150 plants at a time here in Oklakoma but I love my little grow!
I'm using the AC infinity self watering base's wit coco coir and I was actually worried that the top of the coco was moist but I just learned that that means my coco has great wicking properties
I just learned a lot lol, this was awesome thankyou so much. Screw it im making the switch from Promix hp to coco for this next run, would love to hear even a short segment on pros and cons on Promix vs coco!
Takes about a month to settle in to the different watering techniques. But once u get it down, omg what I difference. I kinda like watering everyday said no one. U do have more control which is nice though. I learned if u don't water everyday in coco. Nothing but bad shit happens. Don't do like me.
I absolutely love these I’m not necessarily new but I love learning I have to give a review on the the podcast side cause I listen to these at work as well love it keep up the good work
