New Crankshaft Position Sensor from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ib/1AEC...
The crankshaft position sensor is an important component of any electronically controlled ignition system. The sensor provides the computer with data about the position of the crank shaft to properly adjust ignition timing. If the sensor in your vehicle is broken or malfunctioning, you may suffer poor performance, or get a check engine light. This video shows you how to install a new crankshaft position sensor on your 2000-2006 Chevy Tahoe.
Once the sensor is installed, you will need to use a manufacturer scan tool to perform a crankshaft position sensor relearn.

So here's what I did. I pulled on the harness too hard apparently and broke one of the wires off of the crankshaft position sensor connector. So that is why it won't run. Off to the auto parts store for a pig tail. Hope this helps others. Edit: Success! Splicing in a new harness/pigtail end worked! Truck runs! Thanks!

Hey I got a question. What happens if I don’t relearn the crank shaft sensor into the computer or do that process of what you did.

I have a 2011 Chevy Silverado crank sensors bad according to the code reader I replaced it and my check engine light is no longer on but everybody told me that I would have to get the codes cleared or get it recalibrated by a computer is this true because everything seems fine to me

Are these known to leak oil down over the starter? If so id like to find an oring instead of replacing the sensor because its good

The oring is a non standard size made of a special material, they don’t sell it separately.

I had a mechanic that swears he replaced the sensor without removing the starter. Is that possible? Are did I get taken for my money, vehicle still doesn't start.

Does it needs to relearn the crankshaft sensor after replacement?

My 2004 Chevy Tahoe would not crank. I replaced the starter and now it cranks, but will not fire. Could the harness have been damaged during starter replacement? Like pulling too hard on the starter with both wires still connected to get a better view of the posts on the solenoid? Is the wire that goes to the crankshaft position sensor connected to the harness for the starter?

You might want to check the wires to the crank sensor. Because I had the same trouble and one wires was cut
