Straightforward and to the point, this is what diy UA-camrs need to accomplish. You sir just fixed my truck and possibly hundreds of dollars out of my wallet. For about a week now I’ve had some horrible acceleration issues in first and second and it would only pop up when the engine was warm. Idled fine(a bit low at 500) but nonetheless fine, the issue was only from a complete stop and upon accelerating. Changed spark plugs wires, maf, map, throttle body and nothing. Cleaned filter and changed all fluids, oil, tranny, rear differential. To sum it up I thought my tranny was slipping and headed for explosion. I saw your video and sure enough that was my issue(I had an inkling it was air/fuel mixture related) that same hose on a 2017 was in but not “clicked” in. I suspect a body shop I took it too after I got side swiped by a car and I complained twice about the fish eyes they left on my paint. Symptoms happened about a week after…🤨. Anyway, THANK YOU! Both my 01 suv and 01 pickup started running crazy this week . My truck is making a howling noise for months and running like the fuel pump is going . I’m swapping this line out tomorrow. Crazy part is I didn’t even look this problem up this video just popped up on my UA-cam . Life saver

So, if your vehicle starts and then suddenly stalls seconds later, check your security light to see if it blinks (mine did 3 times) then stays on. If this happens, start your vehicle, when it stalls just leave your key forward, this could take ten minutes or so, but wait until your security light turns off. Then turn your key to the off position for 10 seconds, then start it. This will reset your VATS ( vehicle anti theft system ) to recognize your key again. Thiis was on my 99 suburban. Getting a new one made from the dealer would be a good idea once this happens. Hope this helps!

For the last few summers my 2009 Chevy suburban with 204,000 miles would idle rough and stall when slowing to a stop. Found a vacuum leak where two plastic vacuum lines rubbed a hole but still had the idle and stalling issues. Cleaned throttle body and other things found on UA-cam. No check engine light but found code P0307. This never showed before. Moved coil and wire from #1 to #7 and coil #7 to #1. Switch #7 and # 3 plug wire. This would tell me what part failed if I got another code. Been a week truck runs great. I’ve changed plugs 3 times since I bought this suburban in 2011 with 60k but never the wires. Found an auto lite video on why plug wires should be changed when plugs are changed. Wires get old and brittle from the heat. Good luck.
I’m a woman who loves her 2002 Chevy avalanche. I’ve put so much $$ into different issues and refuse to get rib of it. I don’t have the time or patience to study my engine but I can make suggestions to my mechanic. I’ll let him know about this for sure!
I also have a oil leak but never see oil on the ground, any suggestions.

Truck could just be burning oil, if you see blue smoke going out tail pipe most likely that's where your oils going.

When I want to find a vacuum leak I just grab a can of carb spray ...let the engine idle while I spray around all of the vacuum lines as soon as i spray on the leaky spot of vacuum line the idle will raise automatically....

That's the vacuum for the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail . That hose should never come off ,unless played with or never install right and that's very rare .With out vacuum to the reg. fuel pressure will not increase ,this for sure will cause performance issues .All so check the inside of that vacuum line ,to see if wet from fuel , this would mean the fuel pressure regulator diaphragm is leaking fuel into the engine . This to will cause the engine to run rough at idle . And sometimes you'll see black smoke coming out of the tail pipe . Ever notice car's on the road with a lot of black soot on the tail pipes .. Mine cracked yesterday, went down the AutoZone bought two different size pieces of rubber hose and pieced it together no problem. Save myself $30 that little part is expensive lol.

I have a 2000 suburban with about 165,000 miles not much trouble out of her, but I am experiencing some drivability problems. I will check that line. Cant hurt to try. Thanks for the video.

I've had that happen before too! It got old and heat cycled, cracked. I replaced it with a rubber fuel line and fixed the problem and runs fine now

I’ve been hearing a whistling/hissing noise on my truck that isn’t very loud but you can definitely hear it and it’s driving me crazy cause I can’t find where it’s coming from at all. It’s a 5.3 vortec and runs fine but idles kind of rough. From inside the cab it sounds like the noise is coming from right in front of me from the engine. I’ve sprayed almost an entire can of carb cleaner all around and that hasn’t helped me find anything either. Al of the mechanics around here are swamped busy and want to keep your vehicle for like a week and I can’t afford to not have my truck and not be able to make it to work for that long.

I’ve got 07 avalanche… fix my stuck lifter afm so when putting things back I replaced the hose. And since you said pushing the pedal to the floor this makes a lot of sense now… lol I’m sure this is why I have a lean…

...when i changed out the knock sensors if your engine is blasting the vacuum lines off youve probably got bigger problems to solve one could be your cheaping out with your mechanic maybe you should buy the fuel induction cleaner or whatever he recommends so he makes some commision and isnt pissed at you for taking up his time for the crappy pay his shop gives him

I bought a 1988 Eagle Premier I believe. Yes I know you are sorry to hear that. Well that was back in the era when Audis were killing people because of rapid acceleration. My story is this the Premier had throttle body injection and to the rear of the throttle body was a vacuum hose that fit into about a 3/8" hole in the intake manifold if I let off turning the key too soon when starting it the engine would frock back and pressure inside the intake would pop that vacuum line out of it's hole most times attempting to start again the line would get sucked back in the hole. Once in a while it did not and when the engine started the computer sensed the mixture was too lean and gave it more gas the faster it ran more gas was given and if you put the car in gear the brakes would barely hold it. I often wondered if later models if a clamp or bracket was ever added and if maybe the same thing might have been happening with the Audis. A fellow worker bought one of those Premiers for a relative and he had heard about the situation with mine and put a bracket on the manifold to hold the vacuum line in place.

Be careful taking it off on older models. I ripped the top boot on mine 02 Tahoe and had to order the entire part with the end boots. Good video bruh! Thanks for sharing!

I have an 05 avalanche with a straight pipe and cold air intake, well I didn't even know this was popped off and after seeing this video I checked and sure enough a similar hose was off. Truck was running fine tho but I recently got a cel for maf and running lean so im sure this will fix that. Thanks man

You just gave me an idea to look for on my 2004 Tahoe. I have a ton of weird problems after alternator was overcharging. Now everything is messed up. I think it might be a combination of grounds but also, I can hear a high pitched whistle that I know has to be a vacuum issue. If you have any suggestions please let me know! Thanks 🙏

I might check this on my 2002 suburban. After about 1.5-2 hours of heavy highway speeds it just falls on its face. No check engine, all gauges good, fuel and oil good. Just too hot and engine dies. Might see if these are the issues. Also I have an oil leak that I need to track down but the goofy engine is my first task.
It does sound like that, also I hear a whistling noise when I'm accelerating, hopefully that's it

I have yet seen the video talk about these 5.3 when you start it up first cold start of the morning a big cloud of smoke comes pouring out of your exhaust I know what the solution is to fix it it's very simple but I have yet seen the video I'll tell you all anyway on the driver side of the 5.3 the valve cover has a metal plate with small ports underneath they get clogged with Gunk and that's what causes it my truck has over 300,000 miles on it doesn't smoke a bit runs like the day I bought it very simple fix

Fuel pressure regulator. That is 1999-2003 Return fuel system. 2004-2007 is returnless fuel system
Gentleman is correct with this issue it does happen to all older avalanches

That vacuum line comes from the intake manifold and goes to the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail. Just an f.y.i

I had hood of my 98 suburban up, looking for the rear AC line, and a guy came over to me and told me I should change out my o2 sensors and it will be like a new engine. He went on for 10 minutes about how it will ruin my catalytic converters.

07 was actually the start of the second gen. Major differences made.
I dumped GM over ten years ago and never looked back. Bought a Toyota 4-Runner and now have 217,000 miles. Absolutely none of tje issues GM has, ever.

I know this was posted a while ago but I'm hoping you still respond I have an 04 suburban and I've checked my electrical in all directions it's all fine but still have the issue of stalling when braking after driving a mere 2 miles and I know it'll happen cause the lights get dim before and when I'm parked after driving if I Rev the engine it shuts off the only vacuum leak I could think of is my hydro boost leaks power steering from the hook up between the master cylinder and the hydroboost would that cause a vacuum issue

Hi I have a 02 8100 on cold starts or in cold weather it doesn’t start but in warm weather it starts perfectly fine and sometimes the idle drops on a cold start as well

Had a shaking when stopped after pushing it with hard hair and stuff changed spark plugs and nothing turned out it was the cats took them off because they were full

My avalanche stated to run bad shacking act all funny and it started smoking when I pulled over .. the oil was not Milky and also black carbon in the pips when put my finger in the exhaust.. also I hit the gas a couple times and it smelled like bad gas when it was smoking .. smoked looked white .. . Maybe blown head gasket? Or tps.. what could o check sir

That’s the fuel pressure sensor that the hose goes on.

I have a 2000 mustang gt I had a hose ripped and fixed it and my rpm’s are now jumping up and down not too much but I can feel it shaking my car and it the car itself feels like it’s going to shut off

Do u know what’s wrong with my truck, it makes a puttering noise when It goes into high rpm’s and then the engine light would blink then the car would lose power for a second then keep going. It’s a 2012 GMC Yukon XL Denali with 210k miles
I'm not saying this is your problem but I had 1 spark plug that was cracked and the engine would act weird in high rpm. Changed my plugs and it went away. Check ur plugs perhaps.
