Thanks mate! Yeah I do but it's not necessary, I just do it to stop spit from getting into the internal foam cause it's a bit hard to clean

Thanks mate, well tbh I don't do anything in particular, I just have it running straight to my PC though the um2 and I record in audacity and I put the raw audio on my timeline

No worries mate, yeah the sm58 would pair up great with that interface!
do you recommend Behringer c1u to use without an interface? is quality the same?
Yeah the quality would be the same, but if you ever want to upgrade mics down the line to an XLR mic, then you need to buy an interface with it, while if you buy a c1 and an interface it won't be much more expensive then the c1u but you can upgrade down the line
