After watching this microphone test you will better understand the difference between a dynamic microphone and a condenser microphone.
First we will listen to a test recording of the Behringer C1 studio condenser microphone, second, we will compare the sound quality against the industry classic Shure SM58, which is a less sensitive dynamic microphone.
To my surprise, the Behringer C1 developed a small humming noise while recording this test, which may have been a failure on my end, because in other recordings I could not hear any noise.
I have since tested the Behringer with a USB audio interface, connecting it directly, as well again with my Tube Preamp, and each time it did work fine.
Generally speaking, condenser microphones tend to be more sensitive because they use the 48volt phantom power, while dynamic microphones tend to be less sensitive and better at rejecting unwanted sounds in the environment.
Personally, I believe that dynamic mics are somewhat easier to use for beginners because they often tend to be more robust and easier to handle.
Then again, some people may prefer the sound of condenser mics, simply because they are more sensitive and sound different

I've had a C1 for a while, which also developed a hum problem. In the end I tracked it down to a bad earth connection to the case. The grille is held to the main body by 4 screws and both the screws and both faces connecting are painted. Scratching off the paint at one point of contact between the grille and body fixed the electrical connection between them and the hum has gone.
Ok, glad you found a solution.
Thats great..could you just say for me: “get to the chopper!” 😆😆😆sorry, couldnt resist! 😆😆
The Behringer C1 sounds like there is a hum or some low frequency rumble in it.
Its a 50hz hum, so probably an electrical.issue, like bad earthing.
Why would you do a microphone review and play loud music all the way through it!
Future videos will be better and have less/or no background music when testing the mic.
Create Success TV good stuff
@@thebusinessfirm9862 If you want have a look at the newer video from last year, it may be slightly better: ➜ ua-cam.com/video/sKVI0Z9da-c/v-deo.html
Phantom power might get rid of that low hum on the Behringer, but the SM58 is just better IMO.
Hardly a fair comparison though. The Shure SM58 however is WAY more expensive. A bit like comparing a Ford with a Ferrari!
i connected my behringer c1 mic properly to my behringer umc2 interface with xlr cable but the mic's light doesn't turn on.help me plz.
Make sure to turn on the +48V switch on the back of your Behringer UMC22 audio interface.
This is because the Behringer C1 is a condenser microphone, and needs the 48-volt phantom power!
Done it already. But nothing changes.I'm confused what's wrong with my setup.
Oh my god I have the exact same problem!!! It just won’t work!
What is that sound on the c1
Dynamic mic would be good for podcast. You didnt demo dynamic mic vs condense mic r for singing, avoustic guitar playing.
Sir pls help me i have Zoom H4n recorder i bought Shure SM 58 mic but i saw poor sound.. How can i enhance voice
Sure mic needs strong preamp, maybe Zoom has a weak one build in, if the preamp is strong Shure has a good sound, you could try a more sensitive mic, e.g. condenser mic instead of dynamic.
@@ReviewTechTV Thanks sir..Any condenser mic can u sujjest for me
With the sm58 you need an audio interface because its a mic, if you just want mic w laptop get an usb mic. H4n is a portable recorder its completely different
The case when when comparing microphones you should not show the video ))
Thanks for the useful information!
Thanks for the tip!
Definite Hum on the C1 ... SM 58 zero hum ... much cleaner/clearer sound.
Seriously SM58 is the standard for musicians
c-1 has heaps of loud low floor noise
what's that buzzing sound on the C1? Bad connection?
Not sure what it was, only happened once, while I was filming.
@@ReviewTechTV apparently there is a common manufacturing defect on this particular mic that causes buzzing, you should send it in under warranty and get a new one
It really needs testing against another condenser mic, I ran a AKG C3000 against the C1 and there's a big difference. The C1 is dull in comparison, maybe I just got a bad mic.
so the mic costing 5 times the price is better ???? BIG fucking surprise there eh ? dipshit !
You cant seriously compare a $59.00 mic with a $300.00 mic, and the massive difference in the price is not worth it considering the little noise that the c1 may have ?
Real bad hum with the c1.
my c1 doesnt have that noise...
The C1 microphone noise showed up only once, other times it was fine.
@@ReviewTechTV its very quiet
Behrinher have much noise
The c1 is a really crap mic
