Because I then had bandwidth for a POSSIBLE $3000 in repairs. And I absolutely wanted the coupé S. What I'm saying is, they were MINI people. That's why they did sweat you maintenance "what ifs".
The Services being taken care of at the dealership has been bleeding me lately. I never missed a maintenance appointment and yet, every time something comes up it's above $1000 to fix lmao I love the car but money doesn't grow in trees lol

Hey Ethan, Great Update as always. But i wonder why your „speedo-circle-background“ isn’t blue with the new LCI2 head unit? I thought only the old headunit systems which are still working for the digital cluster, would have the black „speedo-circle-background“ I know that you can update the firmware from the old „large display“ headunits, so that the digital cluster turns blue. But I really wonder why you’re speedo is black. I personally prefer the blue background for the speedo, that’s why i can’t get myself to the point upgrading it yet. But now I wonder if you maybe can code the colors? I’m confused.
Thanks for the question! I found out that it depends on the bdc version. I can’t currently get the infotainment system dark theme because of that too. Currently on holiday but when I get back I’ll see if I can flash the bdc with new software and I believe that should be the solution. I’ll probably do a video or a UA-cam shorts with the results

can the older gear shifter be changed to the newer shorter version?
Unfortunately the shorter one is electronic ad the long one is mechanical so they are not compatible to switch.

It’s probably best to look at the connections as the car’s spec was put together using whatever part they had on hand that met the specifications.

This is the jcw specific cluster so has some red excitement features. It also has a checkered flag on the rpm’s.

Unfortunately the digital cluster from F series MINIs is not compatible with R series cars. I have not seen a R series cluster yet
