Kudos for the allspice. Most folks don't have a clue about it. They rant about my cobbler and sweet potato pies and ask about what I put in it. Great job.
I want to thank you for creating this video. You provided so many valuable tips that are MISSING from other videos on UA-cam. For example, you mention putting flour on the crust to add flavor and dripping butter with a paper towel on the top crust. ❤ My fraternal Grandma passed away when I was a teenager and she passed a lot of her recipes to my Mom. I am trying to learn to cook as a single guy. LOL! I was forced to upgrade due to COVID but now it is a hobby. I have failed several times with peach cobbler but your video showed me something in plain sight. YOUHAVE TO BOIL THE PEACHES IN THE SAUCE!!!!!! OMG ❤ So many people do not do this. Thank you so much. I will be trying this for Thanksgiving. Also, I am requesting the following videos from you: Caramel Cake, Pound Cake, and Sweet Potato Pie. I almost forgot Apple Pie. Thank you again and GOD BLESS!!!
Sorry for your loss first of all. I will like to also thank you for your big compliment you given me, I really appreciate it🙏🏾. Now the challenge you gave me on other sweets, may take a while to accomplish, but will try to work on a few of them 😅. God bless you and I hope you have a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving 😊
My husband just asked me to try to make peach cobbler for thanksgiving…Im not southern and every time I make a cobbler he says it’s not right like how he’s used to. I think this is the style he’s wanting! He says it looks right. So Thanks for posting! Im going to try it this thanksgiving.
You should do just fine. After you pour your peaches on crust, use knife to chop bottom crust in peaches. But if he’s not a crust lover, only put 2 cut strips rows on top(3 will absorbed too much of juice). Use 3x9 pan, should need 1 more pillsbury crust for pan. And the ingredients would start the same, taste and add more as needed. Good luck and I hope that helps. 3x9= 3 cans too.
❤️ I just followed your peach cobbler recipe this Thanksgiving morning and I could not stop eating the peaches. This is so good. I cannot wait until I can finally eat this tonight. Have a great holiday!!! I have adopted you as an Auntie 😁
I like everything from the beginning to the end, I have look at so many videos, the paper towel brush works good, I rather not use a brush either, bc the bristles sometimes comes off, it looks good
That’s how my mama cooked. She cooked measuring nothing and everything was delicious. She would make cakes, pies, etc. As kids, when she was at work, my sisters and I would play “restaurant” and sell my mama’s food to our friends. Great first video and thanks for the memories😊.
Love your message. Definitely sounds like our mom and her cooking such delicious food. We wanted junk food, and she always cooked, what we called good for you food 😂, and gave to neighbor kids 🤦🏽♀️. Thank you again, and for sharing childhood memories with me 🙏🏾
Nice ! Lol I understand why you dug into it 😂. My grandmother always layered it crust fruit crust fruit and the final crust on top ! Me and my grandfather would go pick wild blackberries to make it ! Served with homemade ice cream ! Oh my my mouth is watering from the taste I remember ! Yours looks so good. Sometimes she’d drop dumplings in the fruit !
When it looks like your pie filling is too juicy to thicken you might try mixing a little corn starch in cold water until it is dissolved and stir it into your pie filling and it should give you the thickness you desire. When I use it I start with a small amount and work in what I feel is enough. You can always add more but you can't un-add it. Gotta go, I think I need some peach cobbler for some reason. Thanks for sharing!
Umm I appreciate your comment, but from me digging out to soon and not letting it rest. The crust absorbed particularly all that juice. I’ve been cooking it this way for a long time. I know everybody may have a special way and I never use corn starch in anything. Not my style, but I appreciate your comment, no worries 😉 thank you
@chandraross1506 and it’s not soupy. Your preference will make it too thick once everything settles. Hopefully you can see something, disagree and move on, conversation seems like you want to give your opinion that you like, but I don’t use, and never will, so let’s move on. Thank you.
It’s really never been a written recipe. But if I had to figure the measurements. 1tbsp nutmeg 1tsp cinnamon 1/2 tsp allspice 2 tsp vanilla 1/2c sugar & 1&1/2 stick butter to start. If you use 3 cans of peaches you still will be good and add more added if needed. Buy 1 more package of pie crust for 3 cans in a 9x13 pan will need the 3. Hopefully that will help. Let me know how it comes out.
You don't have to apologize. I can imagine what it must smell like. Those hot piping peaches. Submerged in all that peach juice. The rich flavor and smell is calling your name. It would have to be a crime . If you didn't give it a taste. Thank you Ms. Nene for this mouth watering video and recipe.
