I am almost 70 years and have never had peach cobbler! Tomorrow I’m picking up all these ingredients and going to town following your instructions! Yippee! Thank you
I also use butter and vanilla with the seasonings and actually I use frozen or fresh peaches which make their own juices when cooked with the sugars. I bake it on the lowest position in the oven to make sure the bottom crust gets crispy while the top crust gets golden brown.👍🏾
Please trust me, avoid the vanilla, it will completely change the flavor to more of an ice cream taste which most people expecting a traditional peach cobbler will not want. Also peaches are unique. Once cooked, you cannot tell the difference in flavor or texture whether they were originally fresh, frozen or canned. However, YOU as the cook have the most control over their juicy character by making this choice with that in mind. Frozen is the most vulnerable to being ending up too juicy because of the ice content while fresh is the most predictable. But fresh peaches are not available year-round so focus on canned and you will be able to serve a peach cobbler anytime of the year with predictable results. Save fresh peaches for eating fresh.
My Daddy was an awesome cook, we ate good when he cooked! Mom...well, we survived, all of us kids learned to cook from Daddy teaching us. Hats off to you Sir! I shall try your reciept💕💕
I left a comment a few days ago that I really enjoy you. Being a good brother who loves and take pride in preparing food for family and friends. I tried your receipt for peach cobbler this pass Saturday I'm 67 years old and I made my very first cobbler ever. Thank you for makring it so simple. It is so good. Again thanks.
Hey I'm 68 and have never made a peach cobbler, but I believe I can with that recipe. My twin sister always make them so I just let her do her thank lol
Let me run a tip by ya -- sprinkle a little cinnamon and sugar mixture over the top of those buttered pie crust strips. Not only does it look amazing, but it helps crisp up the strips and the taste is FIRE!!
I do that too, but I make my dough from scratch. Also, put 4tablespoons of butter in the peach filling when cooking. The taste will send you to heaven and back! 😊
Love the recipe! I separate the peach juice from the peaches, season the juice & add a little corn starch to thicken. Then add the seasoned peaches & let it simmer.
@@nycgetsocial it is contingent upon the size of the cobbler & how thick you want the juice to be. Place 2tablespoons of cornstarch in a cup, blend with cold water, enough to make it thin. ( or follow directions on label) Bring the peach juice to a slow boil, pour a little of the cornstarch mixture into the juice as you stir it (blending well). Pause, as you see the juice thicken to your liking, adjust to simmer. If not thick enough, just add a more of the mixture & stir well.
A simple but delicious dessert. And its nice seeing someone showing how to make a recipe, but not doing everything from scratch. Scratch may taste better, but some people just want a nice, simple recipe, Like me lol
Yesssssss! My grandmother, rest her soul, put butter and vailla extract in her peach cobbler and she also baked her crust prior to adding the filling. His cobbler does look awesome though and I am sure that it tastes wonderful. Alwsys been fearful of trying but I have to make my crust from scratch just to feel that level of confidence. I love the video though. Thank you for making it cuz you make this look so easy.
Yeah the vanilla flavor is a must have. I sprinkle sugar on top of the crust but not everyone like nutmeg. My husband do a little something extra to his peach cobble but I want tell ;)
The addition of the butter and vanilla extract make it even yummiest! I have also used almond extract in place of vanilla or 1/2 of each and it is still good.
With technology today we get Old school recipes....wish our Big Mommys and Aunties could have profited from their baking and cooking skills back then...Nevertheless they have passed it down to generations to generations. Bless Brother
I made this cobbler today....my first time ever making a peach cobbler....my family loved it....thank you for this video....I love simple ways to cook.
For spices, there is a new spice combination on the market that contains cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, star anise, cardamom and allspice. Try it and see if you like it. Also, I saw that you put the extra butter in the filling which I liked. Also after brusing the top ctust with butter, sprinkling a combination of cinnamon (or your spice blend) with coarse baking sugar on top of the cobbler can add some extra flavor. Keep baking.
I cooked this peach cobbler for Thanksgiving 2021 and it turned out superb!! I added just a little cornstarch (a Tablespoon) just to thicken the juice a little bit, and I baked my crust a little before adding the peach mixture. Next time I’ll add a little vanilla flavor. All thumbs up for this recipe.
How can y'all not like this video...he got the soft chill relaxation music playing just right for u to still hear him speak and he not sugar coating like he this best at it and things happen like that pie crust most ppl would fake like it's hard and they didnt patch it up...I love wen ppl take time to show us how to cook their recipes and keep it real like if u can substitute or not...also he got right on to cooking even wen he was just talking he kept cooking..not how most do and stop to tell u a life story.😊
Jakita Pope I love his music so soothing with his voice and I’m sure his recipe of this peach cobbler is delicious but I was raise on granny’s peach cobbler when you roll out your own dough and use abstract flavor in the peach mix the crust came out buttery and flakey it would have you sick you’ll eat to much of it.
I tried this recipe the same night...I'm pregnant and was craving that for the longest and waited in line at annie laures for a ur just for them to say they out🤬🤬🤬the store bought doesn't have anything on this recipe...this recipe had the old folks saying dang girl when u became a bakery...lol...they dont no I be agreeing to cook to show off others recipes...🤫🤫soon they be like how u make something I be like I'm sure it's not hard..I go on straight utube and cook it and let them try..now I'm stuck making Sunday dinners and special orders.i did add nutmeg on top of my butter crust and let it baked.
LMAO ! You called it right about them life stories. I'm not trying to be rude or nothing but these cooks need to have proper etiquette. If you want to vent your life stories go get therapy. I clicked on your video to know how to cook beef stew not here about the weight challenge you're in or how your son won't act right. Whip his A$$ and get back to the cooking.
It look so pretty Someone asked did the bottom crust get done,I do a peach cobbler with crust I cook the bottom & the top I just put in oven to dry out and strip the top or break in peices to look rustic I will try your recipe yum keep them 😋 coming
This was my second time making this peach cobbler. This time I added about a 1/4 cup of Pineapple juice and added about 2 teaspoons of corn starch. I also placed the crust in the oven a few minutes before I added the filling. I have had (2) bowls. Thank you so much! 😊
Great recipe. The only thing I do differently, like some others mentioned is add vanilla extract to the mix with a hint of lemon extract to give it a little 'kick.' Finally, I also bake the bottom crust too for a few minutes and sprinkle 'cinnamon sugar' over the lattice crust before baking. The ice cold vanilla ice cream over the hot cobbler is definitely 'Heaven on Earth!'🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧
Hi my dad just passed away he used to make a huge Thanksgiving feast I wanted to make it as normal as possible for my mom so I decided for the first time ever to make a peach cobbler my family LOVED IT my husband said that I have to make that again thank you so much I’m so proud of myself
This Mom, I’m so sorry for your loss, please give your dear mother my sincere condolences. I understand all too well how your heartaches. . Keep making this cobbler, it will give the family a new experience to share whenever you gather. You have every right to be proud of yourself darlin’, I’m proud of you, too! Bless your heart. . ❤️ Liz
This peach cobbler looks amazing. This is going to be my Thanksgiving dessert to my family just make sure that they have the french vanilla ice cream. Thanks for the suggestion.😋
I love this guy, he makes it sound so simple, easy and good.."it is his magic talent" trying it right now...thank you for this recipe with a simple touch...."don't have time for scratch"....
Do you know I always made it from scratch. Two years ago I saw your video this is the best thing going I’m not in the kitchen long at all .👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽thank you🥣
Easy pie crust: 2 & 1/4 cup all purpose flour, pinch of salt 2 heaping tbsp sugar mix. Add half cup milk half cup oil and done.. saves a few dollars on the pie crust and is so so easy & delicious.
Tiff, ... don't one have to knead the dough, roll out the dough... added time..., but a question... will your pie crust recipe make enough to cover bottom of pan ?
Hi Tiff.....for liquid, I only add 2/3 c. oil to my 2c.flour, pinch o' salt,2 T. sugar, and 8 T. ice cold water...Does the milk make it more tender?? Is your milk ice cold?? Curious......U are so right..it's a sin, how easy it is to make your own....tc
I’ve been cooking for going on 50 years the main cook when I got married and had children and I’ve learned to cook a lot but every time I watch one of your shows I learn something else you are absolutely fantastic I have subscribed and I do hit like on every video because I learn something I want to thank you be safe
I can't wait to make this!! Thank you for showing how to make it!! A off side nite, you're eyes are beautiful!! No worries. I'm 62 and have been happily married for 35 yrs. Two things. I make a point to compliment someone everyday! You're my Saturday compliment!! Thank you
(This was a comment on FB) Delicious! I made this peach cobbler it was so good. But I would make some changes the next time I make it. I had to use a 4qt. pot instead of a sauce pan, 4 cans of peaches would have been over the top and if I had tried to boil it, I would have had a mess on the stove. Also I would use a name brand for canned peaches not an off brand as I did. Too much syrup in the off brand. Used a 13 x 9 inch glass pan. Also I would bake the bottom crust first then add the filling. Let the filling cool a bit before adding your top strips of crust. I baked this peach cobbler 1 1/2 hrs. at 350 degrees, ovens may be different. When the strips on top are golden then it's done. I enjoyed this dessert with vanilla ice cream and loved it! Click on picture and watch how it is done in the video. I did make some changes as written above. You can make it however you like with sugar or without. 🙂
Your recipe is fire. But.... We are crust lovers over here. Added one more pie crust, cut into small strips, Lightly browned on cookie sheet. set aside. after lining the bottom crust into glass dish run into oven til lightly browned also. (better crust). after adding filling , add the crust strips directly into mixture. Coat lattice with melted butter and a sprinkle of nutmeg.
Rhonda Walker. That's how I do it too.. love those cinnamon crusts bits sprinkled throughout then lattice the top. This is the same recipe I've used for 30 years.. the nutmeg takes it to another level!!
This recipe is amazing, not only is it easy, it tastes even better. I made this on Labor Day for my family gathering and the whole pan was gone. Mind you I used more than 12 cans of peaches to make my cobbler. Nothing but love is what I got. The best cobbler recipe ever. I'm a baker/ cook and I have been looking for a good peach cobbler for years, I'm so happy that I found yours. ,😁👏
I am actually not a fan of peach cobbler but watched your video because everything you make for the most part is so easy to prepare. I had no idea that you simmer the peaches for 15 minutes with the cinnamon and sugars. Very quick and easy preparation. The outcome- your presentation - was beautiful. I am sure you are driving many people back to the kitchen because of the ease of preparation in your recipes. What a contribution to the universe. BRAVO!
Thank you Angela. What a nice comment. I just wanted to show people just who easy it is to cook if someone would just show them. I know if I can, anyone can, lol. Thank you again and Happy Holidays!
I made this for my family this thanksgiving and when I say it was grandmother approved!!!! Added some vanilla ice cream with it and it was gone within a few hours lol … my vegan boyfriend was even able to eat it (no butter option) but I’m sure you could use vegan butter if you want! 🥰🥰 my family trusts me to bring the cobbler every holiday now thanks to you !
OMG! I made this for Thanksgiving and it came out GREAT! I got so many compliments for this peach cobbler. EVERYONE had seconds. It didn't last at all. Thank you so much. Keep up the amazing work and stay bless.
I usually add a half stick of butter to my peaches while they cook and some flavoring from Watkins a little of rum and vanilla. I also precooked my shell before adding the peaches. It looks delicious
Thank you for your peach recipe. It's the first time in my life that I bake a pie. It's presently in the oven as I'm texting this comment. I'm a 62 years old man, who used to build kitchens, and now I'm actually using my own kitchen to bake! 😁 Thanks again for your recipe, I'll update this comment right after Christmas day...I'll see if my kids like it. Merry Christmas 🇨🇦!!
BEST cobbler I have EVER made! It was easy and relatively quick. I cooked it for Thanksgiving and everyone raved over it. It was a huge hit with my family.
Takes me back to my childhood. Like the idea of buttering the strips and topping them with nutmeg and sugar. Yummy. I could eat just the crust with that topping!
When I say I JUST made this! My family barely let me take it out the oven before they started smashing!😂 I added 1tsp of vanilla to the peaches, and sprinkled a little cinnamon/sugar mix over the top fresh out the oven. Thank you so much for these recipes!❤❤❤
This looks great. I was going to pay a lot for peach cobblers. I am using this recipe today for my granddaughters graduation party. THANKS for saving me so much money. I know it will taste delicious. Thanks for taking the time so teach us this.
I used to work at Howard U. Once a week they had soul food day in the cafeteria. I have been trying for years to duplicate the peach cobbler. I think this recipe is basically it. They kept their top crust solid and probably prebaked the bottom crust just a little. Will give it a go. Thanks!
lisa Roberts- It is harder if u do it from "Scratch" like my late mother use to do, with the real peaches and real homemade crust.....Those are store brought can peaches and store brought crust. The taste is entirely different. But still good I'm sure. It looks the same, but u can tell the difference.....
I made this for the first time this Thanksgiving. It was not as hard as I thought that it would be. Awesome video that made me the hit of the Thanksgiving dinner. Thanks so much for your videos. Learning at 47 to make this dish, made me wonder why I never learned before.
I started making your cobbler about two years ago. I went down south to my sisters house she was 85 years old. I made a cobbler, and one of my cousins stole a whole left side about four nice size slices😂 its funny now, but then I was angry😡 and disappointed. I said if you liked it that much, If you had asked, I would have made another one. 😂 I let my peaches cook for a bit and add some starch to thicken the juice, then when I put cobbler in oven it don't take too long cause peaches already cooked. ❤I love it and all family and friends love it too. Thank you AB
I don't know why I have always thought that making peach cobbler would be hard. I'm definitely going to make this for Christmas. You explained it so well and made it look easy. Thanks for the recipe!
sa'vaughie- it was hard back in the day, cause my mother used real peaches, had to peel them, cut them all up. make the crush from scratch also, not store brought, and the taste was unbelievable…......man I miss those days.
Me to, my house is the family house and on Sundays everybody shows up. Even the ones I am not speaking to. They apologize cause they want to be there too. My family always bring me groceries because I do the cooking. I like to.
This is the peach cobbler recipe I’ve been looking for during the past week. I made from recipes I’ve found on google……followed the directions to the letter!!…..and both times ended up with nothing but peach bread. Definitely doing this one next go-round👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
I am a new subscriber. Thanks for sharing this method of making a Peach Cobbler. My sweetie loves this with whipped cream but I think I will try this method to see which one he likes the best. Made this and my family loved it. Perfect. They wanted another one made. Thank you. Peach Cobbler has been the one dessert I had not been able to master. The way you make it, truly simplified it. Thanks. I wanted to post my pic.
I use like 5 cans depending on the size pot I'm cooking in. I always make my crust thick on top but no more than 5 or 6 cans but make sure u drain the juices out of 1 can
I love love love this. I make it all the time. Not only is the peach mixture good in a cobbler, it also good on home made pound cake with a scoop of Butter Pecan Ice cream. You talking about touching a soul!!!
Made this twice with your recipe came out perfect!!! Just like my mom used to make RIP!!Mom, thank you also tried some other ones of yours you are a great chef!!! Thank you
Thanks A.B. for the recipe turned out wonderful my mother enjoyed it you know she been feeling a little down since her mother passed so it is a feel good dessert.
Very very easy to make!! Again my family LOVED LOVED it. Grandma would be in awe at the simplicity of this sweet dish. Thanks again for another easy to make slamming creation 😋🔥
My man LOVES peach cobbler... It's his favorite dessert... So I really want to learn how to make it just for him... This recipe looks absolutely delicious!!! I can't wait to try it out!! ☺️🙌🏾
That looks good. What I do 2 large cans of sliced peaches, one teaspoon of cinnamon, I have teaspoon of nutmeg, a cup half of sugar to that' one tablespoon of vanilla extract and 1/4 tsp almond extract. I add to that mixture one stick of butter .cut into pieces. Follow up with crust home made or store bought. All the rest is the same. Good luck thanks
I don't even like or eat peach cobbler but my husband and one of my daughters like it so I am thinking about trying to make one of these for them for the holidays, it seems fairly easy to do even for someone whose never did any kind of cobbler before.
I planned to bring another dessert dish to my family’s Thanksgiving gathering and decided to try this peach 🍑 cobbler method instead. Thank you soo much for sharing! Easy, simple & great tasting.
My grandmother made this. I am so used to seeing the poured topping so I was happy to see the crust. She used canned Alberta peaches and added only cinnamon and butter. Not sure about sugar. I don't think so if the syrup was heavy. She made her own cobbler dough and rolled out three layers and made three layers, topping each with butter and cinnamon. Oh man! The aroma drove us nuts and there was never any leftovers. What a memory🍑
it's my first time cooking thanksgiving dinner for my family this year and your channel is a huge help with finding good recipes, thank you for what you do!
Man, I'm SOLD!!! My sister is a chef, and I've been using her cobbler recipe for years...this is as simple/easy as hers, and looks better (sorry, Diane!). Thanks, AB!
Gotta make this for me and my children. Thanks for the easy way to make peach cobbler. Love watching you work. I know your family love when you get busy in the kitchen.
I cannot tell you how much I love this entire recipe and your style AB, so much less stress and so much more time to enjoy our loved ones. I added roasted pecans into the layer of lattice crust and doubled the peaches and I LOVE THE CINNAMON you used! thank you so much AB!! Who needs fancy?
I love your dishes but coming from a country cook you forgot the vanilla Extract and butter in your pot which knocks it out the park!. Lol loved 💕 the technique though.
I was thinking the same thing except we use lemon flavor, not vanilla. It puts a SMACK twang on that thang. You add it at the very end after you turn the heat off other wise the flavor gets "lost".
This is the most simple, sensible and pleasing to watch peach cobbler recipe i have seen and i’ve been searching for two weeks. thank you! making it now.
Thank you sir for simplifying cooking! Made my first peach cobbler last thanksgiving, lasted about 15 min! Had to make another one for Christmas!! Your recipe worked to perfection. Two thumbs up! 👍👍
Go head, go head , ab, it looks so good. I'm going to make it tomorrow as I have some canned peaches. Will post how the out come is at a later time. God bless you 😜.

I did this before seeing your comment & u right!
I do that too, but I make my dough from scratch. Also, put 4tablespoons of butter in the peach filling when cooking. The taste will send you to heaven and back! 😊
Great
Love the recipe!
I separate the peach juice from the peaches, season the juice & add a little corn starch to thicken. Then add the seasoned peaches & let it simmer.
that's how my mom use to do hers...I know its good
That makes sense, then you won’t need the water to make the slurry…Great idea!
how much corn starch do you use please
@@nycgetsocial it is contingent upon the size of the cobbler & how thick you want the juice to be. Place 2tablespoons of cornstarch in a cup, blend with cold water, enough to make it thin. ( or follow directions on label) Bring the peach juice to a slow boil, pour a little of the cornstarch mixture into the juice as you stir it (blending well). Pause, as you see the juice thicken to your liking, adjust to simmer. If not thick enough, just add a more of the mixture & stir well.

I use vanilla flavor and butter in my peach Cobbler. On my crust on top I sprinkle a little sugar, Nutmeg, and butter on the top crust and bake. IJS.
Yours sounds good as well. You might like the next one I do. Still ths one is good! Thank you for watching.
You are right about the butter, butter makes everything better.
Bacon peach cobbler...just a thought?
Yeah the vanilla flavor is a must have. I sprinkle sugar on top of the crust but not everyone like nutmeg. My husband do a little something extra to his peach cobble but I want tell ;)
I made it today! I added a stick of butter and some vanilla extract!!! Sooooo good!
How much vanilla extract?
Me too lol! I just did 1 tsp of vanilla extract tho it came out great 👍🏾
The addition of the butter and vanilla extract make it even yummiest! I have also used almond extract in place of vanilla or 1/2 of each and it is still good.

Agree the cornstarch
would flour (all purpose or bread flour), be a good substitute for corn starch if I don't have it?
How long do you par cook the crust and at what temp?
5 mins at 400 should work. No longer. Keep watching so it doesn't burn or get too crispy.
I also add vanilla flavor,1 tbsp, and I use cornstarch for thickening

It look so pretty Someone asked did the bottom crust get done,I do a peach cobbler with crust I cook the bottom & the top I just put in oven to dry out and strip the top or break in peices to look rustic I will try your recipe yum keep them 😋 coming
Hi oo0

I had no idea that peach cobbler was so simple to name. I’ll definitely try this recipe ❤❤❤
I thought it would be soggy if you didn't cook the lining crust first. I agree with your method. Combine the two, fire cobbler!!
Thank you!!!!! My family LOVE crust
I love crust too. I'll take your advice, to add more crust bits, for the next one.
