      I loved this peach cobbler. I have a request. Can you make a blueberry cobbler? Blueberry is my favorite. You make things simple, easy and delicious so I want to follow your step by step recipe. If you can't make a video, step by step instructions will be fine. I'm sure it's very similar to the peach but just would like to know exactly how u would do it. I love your videos. Keep it up! 👍🏿👍🏿

    Just a tip I got from my mom ♥️ The bottom layer dough should go in the oven first for a few minutes. Because the hot peach mixture makes the dough gummy. Cold dough and hot food doesn’t mix to well.

      @@TiaraChante it’s a matter of your taste and the temperature of your particular oven. Some people enjoy their bottom layer “doughy” and either don’t pre-cook it or “slightly” cook it, where when the cobbler is done; the bottom layer still taste “doughy” or uncooked” (IMO.) The objective of the bottom dough is for it to be lightly cooked/it will start puffing up and “slightly browning, tanning” (10 minutes at the most). You want it to have that light, “flaky” taste when all is done. Take a fork gently poke a few holes in the bottom dough to release the steam so,the dough will remain flattened. Then add your filling. Add your top layers of dough strips. If you’ve cut out any decorative dough pieces to add to your strips (like “apples, hearts, etc”, add those to your dough strips) and put your cobbler back in the oven. 🙂...

    • @SM-bm6jo
      @SM-bm6jo 10 місяців тому +4

      Just be careful not to add too much of that cornstarch or flour. With a fruit pie slightly runny even if the bottom crust is gummy there is better flavor than a dry fruit filling. You can really taste this difference with berry pie. People are afraid of juicy fruit pie and get hung up on the juiciness while they don't think about the flavor. I love fruit pie. I found a local pie source and have had hundreds of pies. It is a fine line but pay attention to the flavor.

    I also use butter and vanilla with the seasonings and actually I use frozen or fresh peaches which make their own juices when cooked with the sugars. I bake it on the lowest position in the oven to make sure the bottom crust gets crispy while the top crust gets golden brown.👍🏾

    • @SM-bm6jo
      @SM-bm6jo 10 місяців тому +4

      Please trust me, avoid the vanilla, it will completely change the flavor to more of an ice cream taste which most people expecting a traditional peach cobbler will not want. Also peaches are unique. Once cooked, you cannot tell the difference in flavor or texture whether they were originally fresh, frozen or canned. However, YOU as the cook have the most control over their juicy character by making this choice with that in mind. Frozen is the most vulnerable to being ending up too juicy because of the ice content while fresh is the most predictable. But fresh peaches are not available year-round so focus on canned and you will be able to serve a peach cobbler anytime of the year with predictable results. Save fresh peaches for eating fresh.

    For spices, there is a new spice combination on the market that contains cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, star anise, cardamom and allspice. Try it and see if you like it. Also, I saw that you put the extra butter in the filling which I liked. Also after brusing the top ctust with butter, sprinkling a combination of cinnamon (or your spice blend) with coarse baking sugar on top of the cobbler can add some extra flavor. Keep baking.

    This was my second time making this peach cobbler. This time I added about a 1/4 cup of Pineapple juice and added about 2 teaspoons of corn starch. I also placed the crust in the oven a few minutes before I added the filling. I have had (2) bowls. Thank you so much! 😊

    Great recipe. The only thing I do differently, like some others mentioned is add vanilla extract to the mix with a hint of lemon extract to give it a little 'kick.' Finally, I also bake the bottom crust too for a few minutes and sprinkle 'cinnamon sugar' over the lattice crust before baking. The ice cold vanilla ice cream over the hot cobbler is definitely 'Heaven on Earth!'🥧🥧🥧🥧🥧

    (This was a comment on FB) Delicious! I made this peach cobbler it was so good. But I would make some changes the next time I make it. I had to use a 4qt. pot instead of a sauce pan, 4 cans of peaches would have been over the top and if I had tried to boil it, I would have had a mess on the stove. Also I would use a name brand for canned peaches not an off brand as I did. Too much syrup in the off brand. Used a 13 x 9 inch glass pan. Also I would bake the bottom crust first then add the filling. Let the filling cool a bit before adding your top strips of crust. I baked this peach cobbler 1 1/2 hrs. at 350 degrees, ovens may be different. When the strips on top are golden then it's done. I enjoyed this dessert with vanilla ice cream and loved it!
    Click on picture and watch how it is done in the video. I did make some changes as written above. You can make it however you like with sugar or without. 🙂

    Your recipe is fire. But.... We are crust lovers over here. Added one more pie crust, cut into small strips, Lightly browned on cookie sheet. set aside. after lining the bottom crust into glass dish run into oven til lightly browned also. (better crust). after adding filling , add the crust strips directly into mixture. Coat lattice with melted butter and a sprinkle of nutmeg.

I said if you liked it that much, If you had asked, I would have made another one. 😂 I let my peaches cook for a bit and add some starch to thicken the juice, then when I put cobbler in oven it don't take too long cause peaches already cooked. ❤I love it and all family and friends love it too. That looks good. What I do 2 large cans of sliced peaches, one teaspoon of cinnamon, I have teaspoon of nutmeg, a cup half of sugar to that' one tablespoon of vanilla extract and 1/4 tsp almond extract. I add to that mixture one stick of butter .cut into pieces. Follow up with crust home made or store bought. All the rest is the same. Good luck thanks

      I don't even like or eat peach cobbler but my husband and one of my daughters like it so I am thinking about trying to make one of these for them for the holidays, it seems fairly easy to do even for someone whose never did any kind of cobbler before.

    My grandmother made this. I am so used to seeing the poured topping so I was happy to see the crust. She used canned Alberta peaches and added only cinnamon and butter. Not sure about sugar. I don't think so if the syrup was heavy. She made her own cobbler dough and rolled out three layers and made three layers, topping each with butter and cinnamon. Oh man! The aroma drove us nuts and there was never any leftovers. What a memory🍑

      I was thinking the same thing except we use lemon flavor, not vanilla. It puts a SMACK twang on that thang. You add it at the very end after you turn the heat off other wise the flavor gets "lost".
