Glock 19 Revisited

- Taking a fresh look at what is probably the most popular Glock pistol, as well as one of the most popular pistols on Planet Earth, like it or not. What do I think of it NOW! Have my impressions of it changed? Does it still make sense? Do I ever use it? What's the market for it these days? Has it worked for me? Is there anything new to tell about this extremely popular firearm? By the way, I did not mention it in the video, but the G19 I do all the shooting with is the Gen 4 that we did so many videos with two or three years ago. It was a T & E gun from Glock that I bought rather than sending back.

I'm consistently amazed on your accuracy with handguns.
P.
I was just going to write the same, incredible how accurate and quick he is on target.
Sitizen Kane He was doing IPSC for long while I guess.
Sitizen Kane Hickok with the aimbot vision
when he shoots he swears he won't miss. he's to turnt
You're the first person who I check for a review when researching a new gun.
One of my favorite parts of your videos is when John zooms into the long range targets and you can actually see the bullet soaring threw the air, it's beautiful.
No way did you try to say you saw a bullet 😂 say sike right now!
@@corajamiston6115 you can literally see the bullet as it’s about to impact the gong down at the furthest part of the range…
How many of y'all love your GLOCK 19?! I sure do!!
me 2
Yeppers, my first gun. Now sits underneath my desk full time as I bought my Makarov,
15k plus rounds and not ONE hiccup. I love my G19 gen 3.
I do as well as my Glock 17
I like the 26 - less imprint
Just celebrated my 2 year anniversary with my Glock 19. Many folks look forward to drinking on their 21st, but I was pumped to buy a handgun. Thanks for the wonderful influence your channel has over me :P
same here! ha
Same here!
+Kenny Flagg What, you're telling me you didn't "have" a pistol before then?
+Kenny Flagg Ha I hear ya there. Although it wasn't a Glock, but instead a S&W 9mm.
That is all that I cared about. Granted for me it was a Glock 22, but I've long since ditched the 40
Hey guys!
I just want to say that it's so cool that you; father and son, are in this video together. I hope you get to shoot and shoot the breeze for many years to come.
Blessings to you both.
This place will be a copper mine one day
I got my first gun, just about 6 weeks ago, I love my G19 g4. Thanks for the videos!
This dude is the Bob Ross of guns
Coty S. woah, I had this same exact thought the other day. freaky O.o
Coty S. So over here were gonna spray a lil 45 ammo and over here were gonna make a lil 9mm tree and here were gonna go sayyyyy 30-06
Yes he is...
Coty S. That’s...actually really accurate. Ross was a soldier who most likely knew his firearms.
syco133 a happy 30-06. With a sprinkle of 5.56 for detail.
I feel bad for somebody who tries to rob him or Rob a store he's in. That man is scary accurate!
Yeap, whoever comes up aganist Him,is going to have a baaaad day!
Why would you feel bad
I have seen better but pretty good for an old man
realCeltics fan really unnecessary comment man
BLK Jewish Investing gawd, better than you no doubt.
First time I’ve seen John and I think I’ve watched 40 or more videos. Very cool that you and your son share this passion and time together. My mother always goes with me to the range. She was a crack shot herself, but she’s older now and “retired” from it. She is wary of my wanting to shoot, but that’s probably because she doesn’t want me to get hurt. Moms. However, she really enjoys watching me have fun. The range makes me forget about my disabled back and I think that my smile makes her heart happy as well. Sorry to get mushy, but I can relate to the parent/child bonding of shooting.
I watch all your Glock video’s over and over again. As simple as it is, I find Glock to be a beautiful handgun.
In the end we all come back to the Glock 19 :)
Or if you are a man you come back to the 1911! Haha
+ArtisanTony Yep, this video will make Glock haters throw up, but this is the pistol that causes me to consider some of the characteristics of other very fine pistols negative, such as extra thick slide, large controls that are larger than necessary, double-to-single action triggers, etc. If it's bigger than the G19 in any way, I lean back toward the g19.
NYET!! 9x18 single stack Makarov PM is greatest pistol in world! Is baby AK. And AK is greatest rifle in world! 😸😸😸
+ArtisanTony
Its the most boring pistol, but also the best :P
+Logica Redux
Why no PMM? It has 12 bullet for not much more size :)
i just got a g19 gen 3 based primarily on your videos.thank you so much for all the effort you and your son put into these videos
Thank you for everything you both do in making these videos! I have learned so much that friends think I have been shooting for years! Haha
Just bought my second Glock today! I found a Glock 19 SF gen 4. It came with front serrations, extended slide stop, extended mag realease, and night sights! Thanks for the videos I love this gun!
"You can't go wrong with the Glock 19" I went with this recommendation you made for my first handgun! Although I have many others, it is still my favorite!
Owned a 19 years ago traded it for some stupid reason,, since then went through sig 226, sig 320, HK vp9, Canek, CZ p07, m&P`s, 1911s,,,,,all great guns,,,, ended up right back to a 19... what can i say, they eat everything and just plain work. Also love my 26 and 20. Great video. Thanks Hickok45
Bought my glock 19 gen 3 just a few hours ago and I'm ready to go shoot!
thanks for your very informative videos, I have learned so much from your channel and over the last few months have become a lot more comfortable around firearms, just purchased my first handgun and applied for my conceal carry permit.
I love Glock because of the simplicity, reliability, accuracy 👍👍
Yep. 🙂👍 And those are the best characteristics to look for in a firearm.
Glock 19 is the Honda Accord of pistols. Reliable, durable, affordable, user friendly and ubiquitous. It is a bit fugly and definitely not sexy, but it excels in all the areas that matter. Its the standard bearer.
How is it not sexy? The damn thing is terrifying and aggressive looking. I don’t get the “it’s ugly” sig is about as ugly as they come besides high point.
@@malbowz1257 looks good to me
Accuracy? :-))
I'd spend a lot of hours at a range like that with sponsored ammo. Please continue living the dream, spreading knowledge and reminding us all that life is good.
I just bought my first gun, the Glock 19 Gen 4, a few weeks ago. I've put about 200 rounds through it so far, and I love it. I'm enjoying watching all your videos Hickok!
I bought a Glock 19 as my first pistol. Yes!
jon gibson Definitely! I have large hands and it fit well. I like the overall feel and how it's not too big or too small. The 17 felt a bit unnecessarily large and the 26 was too small. Also 9mm is plentiful. Also there's so many parts available for it.
Just did myself, taking my CCW course with it next Sat.!
jon gibson I passed, now time to wait about 6 months on my permit. :(
Sean Go what state are you in?
North Carolina
You do a great job of providing information as well as demonstrating some great shooting skills-love the channel!👍🏻
I agree with John, it is a functional gun that is reliable and great for concealed carry. Love your videos and straightforward opinion. Greatest selling point for me is the reliability and watching you peg targets demonstrates for me that the gun 'works'. As far as the grip, like John said, not a glove, it's a gun and I just want it to do its job. Thanks guys, really appreciate your time and experience you provide. I was going to purchase a 17 but after watching your videos, going with the 19 gen 4 and going to get my concealed carry. I currently have a Springfield Armory XD9 and it's great for shooting but I wouldn't want to carry it so going with the 19. Hope Glock appreciates you. Really trust your opinion. Thanks again!
Glocks rock! Enjoyed meeting you at the Bowling Green KY National Guard Armory gun show about a year ago. You are my "go to review guy" for any new gun purchase and have never led me wrong!
I've watched a number of your reviews and my wife and I finally chose two Glock 19 Gen 4 handguns. TN Gun Country in Clarksville spoke highly of you! Thanks for all the education! I'll check out your shooting tips playlist and the accessories you use too. Again, Thanks!
I was a glock hater for a long time, bought a glock 19 and its the only gun i carry around.
Have to say, the 19 is my favorite carry. It was my first but my daily carry at the office is a single stack 9. The 19 fits me in all respects. I can easily ring the steel or waste the paper at center mass. I wish I owned more guns that fit this well. There are ALOT of excellent guns out there, but for me, I take my trusted friend along as often as possible. Even if you have no intention of giving up your favorite, the 19 is definitely one you too could call friend. Thanks for all the excellent videos. I hope none of us EVER have to defend our lives, but thankful we can. God bless.
I had a very hard time deciding what gun to buy untill I saw your videos on the 19. Love my 19. I have since gotten other handguns but you are so right, there will always be a place for a 19 in my safe and on my person.
"I wonder if the gong's awake today..."
*gong*
"He's awake!"
Great video. Really enjoyed John's input as well.
I've had my CCW for 8 years and carry whenever I'm legally able too. The Glock 19 is still my favorite all around handgun. I use 124gr +P HST or Gold Dots.
Hey Hickok you were the first person I subscribed to and have been watching you for years now and would recommend your channel to anyone and just enjoy your videos and also go Vols and go Titans!!!!!!
Very good review of the Glock 19, I plan to purchase one within the next few weeks, I recently bought a Beretta 84FS ''double stack'' Cheetah .380 just because I liked the way it looked and after owning it a while and shooting it I have really fell in love with it, when you have the time can you please do one of your reviews on the 84FS Cheetah, keep up your good work, Thanks!
Love your videos. Always having a great time just shooting down range
Glock 19 was my first firearm this year and it’s great! These reviews are excellent as well and give great information for new and experienced gun owners. My next Glock will be a 35, similar to the 34 but chambered for 40 S&W, and can be easily converted with a barrel change to a 9 mm.
What type of training do you have?
Another great video. Over the years I have owned Taurus, Sig, H&K, etc., etc. I now have only Glocks. I have never had one fail on me, the triggers are the some from caliber to caliber, and I just love them.
i just bought a new gen 4 19 yesterday, after selling my 19 5 years ago to finance an AR purchase. so glad to have it back. my 30sf never quite filled the void in my heart.
I'm always floored by Hickok's amazing accuracy. I love my Glock 19.
Sir, you're such an inspiration! you can shoot! I bought a Glock 19 ten days ago and today is the day I pick it up! I'm so excited! my first gun. I hope one day to be half as good of a shooter as you!
What a great video. I love seeing you shoot Glocks, you just look like you're having a blast! You are in your element.
I love my g19 so much.... I had to buy 2 more just to make sure
Just bought a glock 19 really excited!
just got a gen4 19 only because me marine corp son told me about the marines switching to the glock. I really love it and now carry it. I also carry the .40 shield and sometimes my sig 1911 stainless carry but the 19 is a great size and feels great. Love all your videos. All informative and no bullshit. Keep them going.
You are the reason why in August of 2021 I bought myself my first firearm. A Glock 19 3rd Gen and it’s felt soooooo good in my first visit to a indoor range 😻 the guy over the counter also mentioned there’s more cheaper “interchangeable” for that generation than the 4th and 5th. I can’t wait to put my first 1000’th round in it and finally clean it like you do 😿
Hahaha , looks like you read my mind Hickok!!! Thank You , Happy Thanksgiving, God Bless
Merci pour toutes les vidéos que vous passez sur les différentes armes de tir et de tir à l'arme réglementaire, salutations de France.
Ridiculously awesome with the long range accuracy! Thank you for your awesome channel! Keep it up!
As soon as he started talking about the relative merits and velocity of handgun vs. rifle cartridges, I hit the thumbs-up button; this man knows what he's talking about.
0:57 Hikok45: "Guess what i have in my holster? Yall are pretty smart *Laughs like a small child* "
Lmfao gotta love this man
I've been carrying the Glock 19 gen 3 for 3 years now. Trust it with my life. And it makes a good range gun too, have 3 of them now and lots of parts. Thanks for the content!!
Also thank you for the yrs of reviews you have been a huge influence as to what I carry. Life saver is what you truly are...thank you
Yep Hickok, I'm NYPD retired since 2006. I still carry my Glock 19 1st gen everyday. I remember the day I transitioned from my S&W model 10 over to the G19. I'm seriously considering purchasing the G20 for kicks.
miz1543 , I have a gen3 Glock 20 and like it a lot. I’ve run hand loads of155 gr. at 1050 FPS to 180 gr. at 1200 FPS with 100% reliability. I have less than 600 rounds through it but it shares range time with 19 other guns. I wish the SF model was available when I got mine back in ‘98. Ironically, I am considering a Glock 19 myself.
I reside in California, but I want to thank you for your service to your community 🇺🇸.
@@Dennisthemenace40 Thanks Dennis, I appreciate your input, all the best to you .
Man can shoot anything..
But Glock in this mans hands is magic...
Hey Hickok, It has been about 2 years since you've done a Glock 26 video. I enjoyed this Glock 19 revisited video. The Glock 26 is by far my favorite handgun. You've covered everything there is to know about them. However, I would love to see a Glock 26/27 revisited video. I believe many others would enjoy this as well. Thank you - Sean
It's on my short list for "Revisits."
Much appreciated.
add the fnx 45 tactical revisited since you did the fnp?
sean willis wtf why did you say - Sean
The Destroyer his name I'm guessing would be Sean so he left it as sincerely Sean
I wana start by saying Thank you . Your delivery of info is a step above many on UA-cam
Got my subscribe. Just bought my first gun, and it was the Glock 19 thanks to your video!
I came into my first Glock (19 g3) about the time this vid came out. By fluke. A guy I worked with needed some $. Before that day you couldnt have given me one, and I had full intentions of of just trading it off for something I enjoy more. (Revolver) .Im old school. All my semi autos with the exeption of .22lr target handguns had to have a hammer.Even though at the time my ccw was still a revolver.(357 mod 66 no dash 4 in. I bought new. Well, for some reason I decided to shoot that G19 gen3 one day at a fellow revolver buddys backyard shooting range. I rang steel with every pull of the trigger for 4 full mags. I never did that with a revolver to this day with the same amount of rounds. As bad as I hate to admit, that unattractive gun won my handgun heart that day. I still own and truck gun it, and a gen 4- 19, and. 4 other Glocks. A 19c is on the bucket list. And Im not sorry guys. Life is good!
quityercrying libitards I’ve got a 19c. Love it.
Hickok love your videos just got my first glock 19 gen 3 you definitely sold me on it thanks
Glad I found this video. I was going to email you about your presence for the 19. Its on my short list of first guns. Ive been bouncing between the PPQ and the 19. I think tomorrow Im going to shoot the gun 3 and get 4 19 and maybe make a decision.
Thanks for your videos. Ive been watching them a lot lately.
You almost played a tune on the plates. Mary had a little lamb shouldn't be hard to play, I think you can do it...
You might even be able to do a Christmas album!
And I want 10%! Lol!
The dead pan humor cracks me up. I'll bet I've watched this vid 3 or 4 times.
Great review. Have carried and shot a G19 2nd Gen since they first were available. Finally changed the barrel last year. Of my entire stack of handguns, my G19 is the primary carry. Oh, and never a fail to feed except from a few faulty ammo loads. Yes, the factory ammo manufacturer reimbursed me for the ammo and trouble.
"Empty. Hey, I can do something about that.".. as he reloads. LOL, love it.
Just turned 21 and bought my first firearm; a (you guessed it) gen 4 glock 19. Haven't gotten a chance to shoot it yet (bought it yesterday), but I've taken it apart and put it together at least 20 times already.
You made a great choice. Enjoy the hobby; just always be alert and extra careful. Those four rules of gun safety that Jeff Cooper came up with decades ago will keep you safe if you live by them.
First time I saw John in a video. I liked his presentation, valuable info.
Thank you Hickok45 Love all your videos, big fan and follower! I have the Glock 19 Gen 3 I inherited from my late Father, along with his Smith & Wesson 357 model 19-3 K-frame Service revolver. Love those 19's Life is Good Brother!
your opinions don't always aline with mine, but more times that not they do...thank you Hickock45 for your time and all the information that you pass on sir.
hickok you are awesome thanks for all the videos i learn alot b4 i buy my firearms
This video is maybe why I choose G19 gen4 June2019 for my first firearm!
My all time favorite gun, hands down is my Gen2 Glock19! Will
never get rid of it.. a close second is my Glock27 👍🏻
Always enjoy your videos. Very informative and I admire your marksmanship!
Dude... yer hilarious. lol. It's cool to watch someone shoot (and really well btw) - who loves to shoot as much as you do. Contagious enthusiasm makes me want to get into shooting more. ;)
I am not a fan of Glocks but I can't deny the 19 is a nice gun.
deucedeuce22oz
I think it’s just that you hear so much about Glock perfection. Glock this, Glock that. Glock Glock Glock. However most people that buy Glocks end up spending several hundred more dollars on them. When you don’t need to do that with other manufacturers. The sights aren’t good. The grip isn’t the best. The grip angle is wrong. Trigger isn’t the best. Others look better. On and on. Having said all that still to this day, all other polymer striker fired handguns are compared to Glock. Hell I think my next gun may be a Gen 5 mos g19.
so what are you a fan of, water pistols??
Show respect. Few can admit when something is good if it isn’t what they like.
I can respect that 👍🏻
@@Gerald0613 the spyratwo water pistol is actually pretty nice
Finally picked up a G19 gen 4 yesterday....Went to my local gunshop/range to shoot my M&P shield. I have always wanted a Glock, so went in to rent the 19. It just so happened that they were having a Fathers Day sale on the G19 gen 4!! Couldn't pass it up.....:) I have to say a very nice Fathers Day gift to myself.....
Good done mr hickok45 thank for all information de get it from you,GOD bless you
Love you videos!! I appreciate all the great info you put out.
My Gen 2 made in March of 1997 is still my favorite 9mm and as I become more weight sensitive I find myself carrying it almost exclusively. I don’t see me replacing it with anything else anytime in the near future and I’m quite sure one by of my youngster relatives will probably be carrying it far into the future after I’m gone. Do I own other pistols? You bet and I’ve carried each of them over the years but I kept coming back to my 19.
Same here brother.. My gen2 G19 is the best gun in my aresenal by far. Will never get rid of it 💯
Nice Ft Campbell shout out Hickok. I deployed with the 101st back during OIF.
props to the screaming eagle!
+Dave Seipold Thanks bro.
What a great summary on the Glock 19. I admit I'm a latecomer to the Glockaide, mainly because of your videos, Mr. Hickok45. I had written them off several years ago because although I respect their reliability and simplicity, the grips felt so horrible to me, and the triggers were so variable. But based on watching your videos, I recently checked into the Gen 4 Glocks, and bought both a 19 and 41. They are different, less refined than some of my other firearms, but simple, reliable and fun to shoot. And the Gen 4's fit my (smallish) hand much better, point more naturally, and I do like the new grip texture a lot (though I have added Talon grips to them). So thank you for helping me keep an open mind (not my strong suit at my advanced age) and encouraging me to revisit the Glocks. I now carry my Glock 19 Gen 4 or Springfield XDs 9mm, depending on the circumstances, and love them both dearly. On the range guns, I'm still going back and forth (and back and forth, and back and forth) on the XDM 5.25 and Glock 41 in .45 ACP. Very different firearms, but both having their points. Then again, when I want to break the tie, I shoot my Colt Gold Cup series 70 - as close to perfection as has ever been designed. Thank you John Browning. And thank you Hickok45.
Just got my very own 19 Gen 4. Love it! Decided on it after watching your videos on it. I just want to shoot it all the time now!
As a relatively new shooter who has chosen the Glock 19 Gen 4 as my EDC, I just want to thank you for this video. I had actually been thinking (from reading on the internet that I've been doing) that maybe I needed to bump up to the Glock 23 for the gains that .40 would bring. I think I'll just have confidence in in what I've chosen and stick with it - and maybe add the 26 Gen 4... ;-)
Those Gong shots are amazing. 80 yards out, and you would be smoking bad guys. That's good shooting.
Thanks again sir for another great video!
I’m seriously gonna be pissed if you tube ever shuts down this channel especially. Let’s let UA-cam know we’re here Hikock fans!
Great videos. Enjoy them all. Thank you for all the work you put into them and the informative reviews. I was wondering what John considers to be the perfect carry gun? I have a Gen 4 19 but don't carry it. I carry a S&W 9mm Shield but was thinking of upgrading to a Springfield Armory EMP4.
Amazing how you consistently hit that gong sir.
Love my Glock 19 gen 3
You look extremely comfortable shooting this gun, I can tell it's one of your favorites, you shoot it great keep up the great work sir.
Looking at the sig P320 and the Glock 19. Like your reviews. Always great shooting. Thanks.
pity that in Brazil it's so hard to get almost impossible weapons possession is prohibited and we can only have 50 ammunition a year thank God for having the right to self-defense
amen
+jailson mendes - But you can buh it from Dark Markhet :P
+jailson mendes It would be great if you could help turn enough people in your country around to your way of thinking so that you could have similar rights to what we have here in The States.
You can't do it alone, but it would be great if it happened.
I'm on your side, buddy.
+jailson mendes I read from some people in best gore, that on the streets it is really easy to get guns in Brazil. I mean, there's so much gun crime and gang violence in some of the big cities right?
+jailson mendes haha yeah and how is that gun ban working out? less crime?
Great video! I have one! I love it! It does everything I want it too!
Excellent video production, excellent gun, very informative. Thank you, kudos! If I could improve upon this I would have explored further the comparison of the different gens of the model 19. Would be of value especially for those considering purchasing on the used market.
Just picked up a Gen 4 17 and a 19. 17 is a great range and competition piece and the 19 fits the sweet spot for a big guy to carry. Love the reviews Hickok, don't ever stop doing them!
Just purchased my first handgun and I went with a gen 4 glock 19!
I have also just recently and I'm very satisfied with it
Me too!
Smart choice. I'm getting ready to buy a....... Glock 19
Just purchase me a gen 4 bout 100 rounds through it without a hiccup..wish I would of bought one long time ago .been using m&p line ...
JDezOfficial I just got a gen 3!
When he hits those metal plates it's kinda like music. Put out a record!!!
Can't get enough. Your my dad in this gun world. Your very honest and man you never bullshit me.
12:38 Three fairly quick shots to the gong. Amazing accuracy!
Just picked up a Gen4. Love it so far.
It always comes back to the glock 19! I love it, especially the gen 3
