Wow this is amazing! I work at Dunkin’ Donuts and I’ve always though it tasted so much smoother and earthy. I was not aware of the low acidity and the antioxidants!! Woooow you are incredible man! Thank you so much!
It's funny because after brewing it I always let my coffee cool down and put in the fridge before consume it because I love ice coffee. Never thought the flavor could comeout without heat. This is gonna be my favorite for sure.
Spot on with taste and lack of bitterness. I had plain old Dunkin donuts cold brew for the first time recently and I swore it was chocolate flavor and had sugar in it. It wasn't till it was like that the second time did I realize it's the actual chocolate roasted flavor of the coffee and less bitter so it seems sweet. The first time I actually thought the messed my order up because the guy in front order an ice coffee with sugar lol. I thought they gave me his
Enjoy your all your videos and always great info. Can you explain the acidity issue with coffee and your gut versus the acidity of apple cider vinegar helping the gut.
BTW...cold brew is usually made stronger, you can add boiling water to make a hot cup of coffee. People swear by cold brew for flavor, it's ridiculously expensive at coffee shops and restaurants.
I suppose brewing at the boiling temperature of 212F for 4 minutes (if french press) can still destroy some molecules. But the roasting temperature of coffee beans is between 370F to 540F. So I don't think cold brew have much more beneficial molecules than regular brew.
I love this topic, but you got to update us on the ph in the blood. It sounds interesting. I’m a sucker for hot black coffee. Authentic Italian coffee is supreme and is not bitter. I’m hooked.
Now I'm confused. I've been watching you and berg quite a bit over past 6 months. You both suggest lemon water and or apple cider vinegar for many reasons, one being acidity in the stomach. Why wouldn't acidity from coffee also help there?
Dr berg sketches me out now after finding his scientology connection. You support a cult when you buy his products and after listening to his son..... Berg seems like a real dick! 😁
If antioxidants are a crutch for the body, interfering from getting the full effects of fasting, and cold brew having more antioxidants, is it better to drink hot coffee while fasting to decrease the amount of antioxidants?
Could you please expand on the acidity. I have been drinking apple cider vinegar and lemon (still have to buy some tumeric) but as a loyal viewer I am confused as to why the acids in coffee are different from the acids in lemon juice and apple cider vinegar.
I'm looking thru the comments in case I duplicated BUT question: if I heat it up to drink the cold brewed coffee.... will I be defeating the purpose? I am emotionally attached to the heat especially in morning....
@@xjdempseyx if all of your grounds get utilised, then I think you’re taking wayyy too much water. Nothing wrong with that though. I was just putting out the general case.
If I am making my normal hot brewed coffee with coconut oil, the cold brewed will not heat the coconut oil to liquify. So if I microwave the coffee after cold brewing does it still take away the benefits like the normal hot brew does? If so, any alternate methods to still utilize coconut oil with the cold brew where it wont solidify?
Well, from the research I've checked into online, hot brewed coffee has more antioxidants than cold brewed coffee. I wonder if he just made an assumption about heat killing antioxidants rather than using actual studies done by universities.
@@nelsnels1219 - Here is one article that states that hot-brewed coffee has more antioxidants than cold-brewed, and the acidity levels were surprisingly about the same. Hi thanks for all the great content! question I like what you said about cold brew, but I usually make my coffee with coconut oil and butter from grass fed cows ala bullet proof coffee. could you warm up the coffee after it's made to help the oils melt into the coffee? side not do you have any opinion on bullet proof coffee good bad etc.. would you stick with organic coffee beans. sorry it's such a long question but thanks again!
I am 55 and never had a cup of coffee a day in my life. I decided to try bullet proof coffee this Thursday. I have heard so much good information about coffee lately, I am jumping in. Interested in his opinion on Bullet proof as well.
It has only been 3 days but here is where I am. I have to get use to the taste but it is getting better every day. The big change is my appetite has decreased. I drink bullet coffee in the morning and I am not hungry until about noon. Yesterday I did not think about food until 1:00. Along with Keto diet I lost 3 lbs this week. So I am going to keep going.
Hmmm, sooo coffee acid bad, but awful tasting ACV is good? Different ailments require different medicine I guess. Either way hot or cold, I love some coffee haha.
So cold brew gets the flavour but not the oils from the coffee. So if you dont like cold coffee you could just use this method to not get the oils, then warm it, but not too hot?
I've compared Trader Joe's dark roast Bay Blend cold brew to Starbucks Sumatra hot french press, each that I made at home. The Sumatra gives me much more pep. The Trader Joe's just gives me a crash. There is supposed to be about the same amount of caffeine in both methods, but could the heat be activating the caffeine more than the cold brew?
I just bought organic cold brew coffee, checked with my pH meter and its just as acidic as heated, regular brewed coffee. Anyone know why this is if cold brew is supposed to be less acidic according to basically all the research out there? Need coffee but not acid reflux!
Rather odd wording at 1:53 - that the acidic body is better for pre-cancer cells and diseases. Would make more sense to say that the acidic body is more susceptible to pre-cancer cells and disease.. or that the alkaline body *is better* for preventing pre-cancer cells and disease. Just caught me off guard... Anyhow, I do have a question: you say that when a coffee is heated, it kills the beneficial antioxidants, and I love cold brew on its own, but sometimes I want to have a coconut oil coffee, which has to be made with hot water because coconut oil wouldn't just be in there floating in chunks. Does that mean that, if I cold brew my coffee as I do, but then heat it up - it will still lose those antioxidants?
I'm confused about the whole heating killing the nutrients in the coffee. The beans are roasted.
Lol. I've heard of green coffee bean extract which is not cooked.
Yeah?, what about green coffee bean extract….?

It's funny because after brewing it I always let my coffee cool down and put in the fridge before consume it because I love ice coffee. Never thought the flavor could comeout without heat. This is gonna be my favorite for sure.
It makes more sense! No wonder cold brew tasted more cooler and better than iced coffee

Hey, great post! Thanks for sharing
Good way to get the most of coffee if you crave it. I'm lucky I crave tea !
If you like Earl gray, give Yurba Mate A try. Its tastes like a verry smoth and mild black tea, mixed with the earthy green. Fantastic!
This video seems to somewhat contradict your video/s on Apple Cider Vinegar and how good /bad ingestion of acids can be..
Am I mis-perceiving that?

Because the lemon or ACV starts acidic but your body ends up making it alkaline as you digest.

Nope. The beans/powder is no longer there, the oils are no longer present after you filter it. :)
Well, yeah, not in term of the taste, but the health benefits of it. It won't be acidic, but the nutritional value of it will significantly decreased.
make a video about instant coffee. Is it safe to drink during a fast? worse, better, or equal to benefits of normal drip coffee??
can you talk about Melanotan 2 Peptide for tanning and is it safe
Sticky Rice 2nd that
Super helpful!!!!!
Soooo nobody is going to talk about how cold brew requires TWICE+ the amount of coffee grounds?!?!
AND... in normal coffee we utilise all the grounds, whereas in cold brew, around half of the grounds we have to throw away.

Jay Valadez please "tag"? Me if he responds! Had a similar question
Jay Valadez actually it’s the brewing that causes the acidity in coffee. So if you just warm up cold brew it won’t kill the antioxidant.
Heat the oil up then add to the coffee! Also mct oil is liquid try that it better anyway.
But Thomas I like my coffee hot! Much Love ❤️💜😊
So after you cold brew the cofee, can u warm it up? Or drink it at room temp?

You have to dilute it
Does vaping effect keto diet or fasting
It has no calories so probably not. I doubt vaping triggers an insulin response.
Question... If acidic lemon water brings acidity down in the blood, then why doesn't acidic coffee do the same?
Because Lemons are Alkaline
Lemons are acidic
Actually the body has auto regolation of the balance acid/alkaline.
Why not instant coffee?
