In this video, we’re going to talk about some of the health benefits of drinking coffee. Remember, don’t drink coffee if it gives you anxiety, increases your heart rate, or prevents you from sleeping. Too much coffee can increase cortisol and adrenaline, so limit your daily coffee intake to one cup.
Caffeine is a phytochemical found in coffee and other plants. Caffeine keeps us awake by inhibiting a compound called adenosine. Coffee can give you mental acuity, help you focus, and improve your ability to learn. It speeds up the rate of metabolism and helps regulate blood sugar, especially if you add MCT oil or butter.
Research has shown that coffee may even help decrease your risk of dementia! Here are some of the other potential health benefits of coffee:
• Decreases symptoms related to Parkinson's and Alzheimer's
• Decreases risk of gallstones
• Increases the production and flow of bile
• Prevents kidney stones
• Has anti-cancer properties
• Has anti-inflammatory properties
• Has hepatoprotective properties
• Contains polyphenols to feed your microbiome
• Can help improve postural hypotension
• Improves exercise performance
• Increases cardiac output
• Delays muscle soreness
• Decreases symptoms experienced at high altitudes
• Increases mitochondrial biogenesis
• Increases stomach acid

I drink coffee for the joy and happiness it brings me🥰
Respect the fact you admit to addiction. It's the first step to recovery Nancy😂
ok
Thats not happiness that is an addiction
these damn coffaholicsss
@@janelleduke5432I'm happy to breath everyday. I must be addicted to breathing. 😂
Yes tell me more about coffee so I can justify my addiction 😂.

Heard that lol
Exactly! 😂 ☕☕☕☕☕
To all the coffee lovers, I appreciate you..😂❤

I don't drink coffee to wake up. I wake up to drink coffee.
Word.
I love coffee!!!! I don't drink alcohol or smoke, but I do drink coffee! Savior during fasting. ❤
60 hrs on coffee
I no longer use alcohol/tobacco/sweets, what keeps me happy is coffee and lifting weights
Same here!
What do you put in your coffee?
@kathyott1418 typically just hot water. Butter really helped when i started fasting. Sometimes French vanilla creamer, when I'm not fasting.
Love coffee and there isn't a better smell than to smell fresh coffee brewing in the pot first thing in the morning.
I completely agree.
@@SachelleCambria Side note: I also like sniffing the coffee beans while they're in the bag. It's so intoxicating! LOL!
That and fresh baked cinnamon rolls!! 😍
No. I don't eat those delicious carbs anymore...I'm on a Carnivore Diet right now...But, the aroma of coffee and rolls are quite memorable!! 😋
@@homesteadgmad8223 Agreed! Fresh, hot cinnamon rolls smells good alongside coffee. I too, don't indulge in sweets that much but when I do on occasion, it's usually either a donut (from a bakery and not that Dunkin Donuts nonsense) OR a cinnamon roll.
@@cbsharpe0824 What's your absolute FAVORITE donut? I agree with your DD comment!
My favorite is chocolate (REAL chocolate) old-fashioned donuts fresh out of the oven or, like you, a cinnamon roll...Of course, apple fritters fresh and hot...OMG!! I better STOP thinking about this!! 😂
Have a delightful day!! 🤩
I'm not addicted to coffee. Easely quit every evening.
😂😂
Sometimes when you don't see the road ahead clearly, it can be overwhelming. Worry is too much & stress is real. At such moments remind yourself that you're much more than your fears. Life will get better & road will show up. It's matter of time. Keep moving, one step at a time.
Love your comment.
Sometimes when you don’t see the road ahead clearly, it can be overwhelming. Sorry is too much & stress is real. At such moments remind yourself that there is a coffee exists in this world, and then all your problems will be outshadowed by the joy you feel…
thank you , much needed!
My story. Was drinking 3-4 cups every morning and then hitting the gym. Past year had bad knee joint pain. As last resort quit coffee cold turkey. After 2 weeks all pain went away as well the joint inflammation. I believe I developed cortisol resistance from coffee and exercise. Reset it by quitting coffee. But coffee is awesome in the morning so back to 1-2 cups, so far so good.
Update: welp after going back to coffee achy joints started again. Was in pain after playing golf and couldn’t concentrate either. So no more coffee. Don’t care what anybody says, there’s nothing positive about coffee. It’s a drug.
What did you tell to coffee?
"Sorry, I need to espresso myself better."
"You can brew it!"
1 is enough add some milk to cut down acidity.
Maybe 3-4 cups was a little excessive. Dr. Berg only drinks 1 cup in the morning.
😮drink decaf!
My coffee pot is my alarm clock. The sound and wonderful aroma of it brewing wakes me up. I only drink one cup, with cinnamon and sometimes raw honey.
add lions mane to keep your memory!!
I like to use cinnamon and chocolate coco powder no sugar or cream just cinnamon chocolate coffee .
Casio Coffee😺👍

I quit drinking black coffee 5 weeks ago and the effects have been astounding. Better mood, energy, skin, and of course- sleep.
As someone who has been drinking coffee for years and working swing shifts, never thought Id be able to quit the habit. Best decision I ever made with my diet.
I am addicted, find it difficult to stick to one cup. I want to quit as well
@@marajade4403I’ve read many people succeeded by switching to tea then stopped coffee completely. I wish you success on your journey!
Not the most carnivorous thing to consume but it makes my H2O… tastier. French press+roast delicious. Black coffee. Liquor, red wine and beer only weekly. For every day entertainment? The “price” is beyond worth it I’ll keep drinking lol.
Studies have found that the vast majority of centenarians are coffee drinkers. But they limit their consumption to 1 to 2 cups per day. I drink 1.5 cups, that's enough.
I also quit coffee but sometimes i drink coffea decaf swiss process
I started a clean diet & eliminating caffeine so I went off of coffee for a month and it was rough. I was drinking 2-3 cups a day prior to that. I really believe my brain/body needs a day. I’m back to a cup a day and I feel much better. I focus better and I have less daytime sleepiness.
@@curiousbystander9193 no, I didn’t. I had terrible brain fog. I believe I think more clearly with some caffeine.

I agree. I can’t drink coffee but having a cup doesn’t make you an addict.
@@SachelleCambria The test is to try to go one day without it and see what happens. The typical response is that they don't need to cos they KNOW they're not addicted, which ironically is exactly what an addict who's in denial WOULD say haha.

Psychology Today recently did an article on coffee saying the same thing. I'm very glad the benefits are clear, as I do intermittent fasting and I don't think I could do it without being able to get a coffee fix in the morning. It enables me to have a sustainable diet. Plus benefits.

Awesome content Dr. Berg. Thanks so much!
I'm so glad you like it!
Thanks doctor Berg! I usually have 1 largish cup a day, sometimes 2. I began getting indigestion but through watching other videos, I came to the conclusion that I had low stomach acid and began taking betain HCL, which has been helpful. Alcohol sweeteners also gave me indigestion, so I can only tolerate stevia. I had my gall bladder removed many years ago and have had issues with constipation. I do take your gall bladder formula, which also has betain HCL, but I suspected I needed more. Still working on the constipation issue and coffee also helps move my bowels in the morning. So I'm glad to hear about the benefits of coffee!
1 cup in the morning. Sometimes a second late afternoon, that's it. Used to be a massive drinker 4-5 cups a a day. I now drink a higher caffeine brand to make it usually one cup a day. 😊
I’m curious which brand of coffee you drink.
Thanks Doc I feel better after every show you do, nearly as much as coffee in the morning. Knowing it balances nicely with my evening couple of beers and vitamins is superb, not sure if I’ll get back on the cigarettes tho

Love your dry sense of humour😊
I LOVE coffee but I recently gave it up after drinking it for over 45 years. I started going to a naturopath and found I have a congested liver. One of the symptoms was belching and some pain. I'm detoxing and feel much better. I noticed I would start belching and feel bloated much of the time after consuming certain things. Coffee was one of them. I stopped drinking coffee and within a day the belching and bloated feeling went away. After 4 days I tried a cup of coffee in the morning as an experiment and 10 minutes after drinking it I started belching again. My naturopath thinks it may be the chemicals used in the growing and processing of coffee so I am going to buy some organic coffee and see if that affects me or not. I hope going organic works because I would hate to go without coffee for the rest of my life.
Hello wish you well on our recovery journey. Do share your progress.
It could be the acid indigestion from coffee… try baking soda water before or after coffee…
Love to hear the results. I'm going through the same process. I have organic decaf, noticed the milk caused Bloating so switched to coconut milk...it's better. I'm also slowly moving to all decaf...thinking the caffeine may be an issue and I know the caffeine messes up my sleep even at 1 weak cup at 1 pm.
@@amyroessing4388 .... I have low stomach acid and have to take a supplement to increase my acid. Otherwise I get acid reflux. It sounds counter-intuitive but it works. You need enough acid in your stomach to activate the valve at the top that keeps acid from flowing up and out of your stomach. Dr. Berg did a video about it.
I only drink organic coffee. Coffee has more toxins than any other food.
Very informative video❤
