Tbh Its a hard choice, because these days, Kias have so many standard features that it doesnt really matter whether you get a loaded Sorento or a base Telluride. I'd still get the Sorento because it looks better with the black wheels and trim on its highest spec.
The front end for some reason reminds me a bit of the new Ford Explorer. Not sure why.

not only are they making great looking cars, but they are looking unique too. I think at this point we can call it "korean styling". Im having a hard time putting to words what im trying to say but they definitely don't look like cars from japan, america, or germany (other than the stinger).
Kia's designs in this generation have been so on point. Literally every design - k5, Sorento, Telluride, Stinger. I'd argue the best design in this price range.

Mazda could make a pretty good argument here I think. I like both companies' designs a lot, but I think Mazda's designs might have the edge in terms of aging better.

They've looked good since the Optima a decade ago in my opinion. Since then they've been gaining traction.
Me too, the former BMW designer they hired is making his mark, I saw this on the road today and I'm sold.
My 2014 soul burned on the side of the highway on 9-25-20, just burst into flames for no reason, kia claims the 2.0L engine is not under a recall, my son could have died because of their lack of giving a shit

The Kia and Hyundai products for the last four or five years have really been amazing. Good quality good performance and rank well with the Japanese products.It's good to see them constantly upgrading their vehicles and their electric vehicles coming out will be very compelling. The Hyundai group are the leaders of styling now.
Cant wait for their future EV. They are investing so much on electric vehicles and still produces banger gas cars, unlike most other company they either give up on gas car or electric

A huge change with these 2021 Hyundai and Kias are the new 2.5 turbo and non turbo engines now have Multi-Port Injection as well which solves the issue of carbon build up and burning through oil (eventually setting fire to the engine) that older models had. This is huge and makes these cars much more reliable. I'm not sure what other brand still has Port Injection besides Toyota. That's a huge reason Toyota's are still super reliable.

I just traded last week my 2018 Civic Si for a 2021 Sorento SX Prestige X-Line and man let me tell you, I am loving it. This SUV is an amazing vehicle, even my kids love the fact that I went from a low profile car to an SUV. The handling, the interior, the comfort, the USB's in the back chairs, in fact, everything is so perfect in this SUV. I highly recommend it for anybody that is looking to have an amazing experience!

The ecu potential with this powertrain will truly be insane. Easily could see 320-350 hp from a reflash along with programable launch control!

I think Hyundai / Kia / Genesis have been killing it over the past 2~3 years. Genesis is set to rocket with their SUVs finally reaching local shores soon. Simply amazing designs, tech, quality, warranty, etc. Well done

driving experience wise, I love Kia. My 2011 sportage is still in very good looking and functions very well, driving other brands before, but I am in love with Kia now. A low cost maintenance in Kia is a big plus for me.

2004 Kia Sorento was the first vehicle I owned. I loved that thing. The rear wheel drive was so much fun and the 4WD was great in the winter. I wish I never got rid of it
Mom's been needing a new vehicle in place of the aging and ever so unreliable town and country, this is one of those vehicles I'd be happy to see her with, great bang for buck! My only wish is that it had a V6 instead of a 4 banger.
We just picked up a Mazda CX-5 and we love it. My recommendation would be to check out the Mazda SUV line

I had a 2004 Sorento.. at that point when you told people what you drive they would ask "a KIA?!?" - It was a great truck, was body on frame, rear/4wd with 4 low and limited slip diff.. and it was a 5 speed manual! (I think it was the Sport).. I had it for 5 years with zero problems. I had the first-gen Soul, too. I would have gotten a Telluride but it came out 2 weeks after I got my Durango..
I compared Sorento to the Telluride and I changed my mine! Sorento is more sporty design and offers more engine options. Smaller, easier to park and drive...
I ordered both, let's see.
Just purchased the 2021 prestige edition Sorento in the aruba green color and wow!!!! I LOVE THIS THING!!! Handles amazing. It really grips the road. All the technology features are very helpful. But my favorite thing about this suv is it’s just plain SHARP inside and out! I highly recommend this new updated Sorento from Kia

With all the up level stuff you've been testing lately I was afraid you would become too fancy to appreciate the normal stuff. Glad to see you both had fun. Kia is killing it! Stinger is still their best vehicle though whether it sells or not. BTW, that old Sorento you mocked had a low range. I probably like the Telluride more but for my needs I'd choose the loaded Sorento over the base Telluride.

Just bought a 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited AWD. Absolutely love it. Good power, very smooth quiet ride, and the interior is gorgeous. It feels like a lot more expensive car. I never thought I would buy a Hyundai. 😎

I own a 2003 Kia Sorento. And still driving it in 2021. The new Sorento look great . I also own two Lexus . Rx 350 and Gs 350 . But I love driving my Kia. Little by little they are steeping up with their technology. Good job KIA. 👍

Not a baby Telluride at all. Kia stayed true to the sorento & kept its rugged edges and brought back the raised chassis from 2011-2015 models. I love it.
I just recently picked up the SX and I LOVE my new Sorento. It literally checks every box for me. It has space for my two kids and small dogs, plenty of power to be a good replacement for my old Civic SI. It has really great handling for bad roads. And if I want to take it off road I can down size the rims to 17" and slap some thicker rubbers on them. But for now this vehicle does everything I need an SUV to do.

4:11 - yea, because a tire inflation kit instead of a spare tire is ALWAYS a great idea ... especially when your sidewall is blown out ... really handy then.
USA Korean vehicles have spares. Canadian vehicles should too. Canadian government should mandate spares for all new vehicles in 2022.
Kia's design language is SO GOOD lately. All their vehicles that have been redesigned have been knocked out of the park.

Great video! "Brake boosting!" How many people today even know of the concept, let alone the process? It's great to see young guys who understand cars from before EFI, GDI, and variable valve timing. Boosting worked great from a standing stop when we were driving lead sleds like the '76 Pontiac LeMans with a 400 C.I.D. engine and a four barrel carburetor. In a turbo 4 cylinder with a dual clutch transmission it becomes somewhat extraneous. I have to say the DCT is amazing. The first DCT I drove was a BMW. It shifted beautifully and even 'blipped' the throttle as it downshifted into a turn. Longevity, or the lack thereof, was the killer for BMW's DCT. With the wet clutch DCT Kia and Hyundai may have come a long way to solving that issue. I hope it's a winner.
Looks like the much like a new gen Ford Explorer, and I won't complain about it. Love everything about the looks on this far more tho
Love the review as usual. Bought my Kia Stinger because of you guys reviewing it when it came out. Kia is killing it now!!!
I'm hearing the Stinger isn't aging well. At 20k miles, owners are.saying ot rattles and bangs like it has 70k miles. I think the huge hatch may have weakened the body structure too much. Kia rushed car into production. Like the rear suspension hiking up, on turn-in while braking.

I was an intern for Kia when they came out with the new sorento and I have to say they did pretty well. I also got to work on both the K5 and so it was awesome to that people like the new design! I myself like the new design better now

I just finished driving the Sorento and Telluride. Both are nice but two main things stuck out for me. 1. The power in the Sorento is so much batter than the Telluride. Huge difference in acceleration. 2. The seats. I have a bad back. The seats in the Sorento have much better support. The reviews of the Telliride are very positive however, the overall enjoyment factor of the Sorento far outweighed the Telliride in my mind.

Great review! You guys deserve a commission, because I ended up getting the X Line in Aruba Green. Same engine as the SX. Gotta give you guys props for nailing the review - I agree with almost all points except for ONE THING 🤭
The one thing I do not agree with is that it’s unnecessary to drive this in sport. I’ve had 200 miles to drive it and I swear that the sport noticeably reduces the impact of the turbo lag - it’s just generally more fun to drive around and the pickup is decently quicker. I didn’t buy this car to whip around - but coming from a GTI, it’s so nice to still be able to tap into quickness when I get an itch, even if it’s not the same.
My one gripe are the captains chairs. We have one dog and no kids - dog cannot sit in the captains chairs or jump into the car from the passenger doors when the chairs are folded down. So he has to chill in the trunk, which is fine, but not what he’s used to. First world problems!

If Kia doesn't option awd on Caravan... X-line!!! Do it Kia. Raise 2 inches, rubber fender flares, larger tires. Dual exhuast look rear. Large round led fogs. AWD. Kia.... heck, make it a Genesis at that level and charge $5k more.
Right now Kia/Hyundai/Genesis are my favorite car manufacturer in design, style and power train... Honda and Toyota are slacking big time

Really want to see you guys review the Sorento hybrid. To me at this price point, choosing between the non-hybrid Sorento and the Telluride is a no brainer for the Telluride. But when you throw 37 mpg into the mix it becomes a more interesting comparison, but the hybrid and non-hybrid Sorento models are very differently equipped. Would love to see you guys compare the two.

The Kia Canada website says the SX trim has that feature. So, yeah, I’m surprised the boys didn’t mention it.
Kia has a very precise design language for their lineup. Clean lines and not fussy.

Oh right, forgot about Doge Journey, as did the world. '21 Sorento IS the new Dodge Journey design! The Journey wasn't bad looking. Heck the Audi A7 is also Dodge Journey in a matronly way. I just don't see Ford explorer. Please someone put the 2, side by side, and review. Explorer is a beast, & has odd proportions. Sorento is the sleek Dodge Journey with hopefully much better build quality. Only engine fires can set it back and lack of advertising. I want thigh extenders! Like SanteFe
Mazdas look better. But Korea does way better DLR's & signature exterior and interior lighting than Mazda.. Way way WAY, better than Mazda. Pano roof Korea-win. Tiny 1980's moonrf Mazda. Tiny, short seats Mazda. Adult human seats, most everyone else. Ps, I have a 2010 Mazda 3gt. I love Mazdas, but they need better equipped vehicles for outside Hiroshima's bubble.

Hey Yuri, now that you're an expecting father, how about some car reviews for car guys with kids. Back seat comfort becomes a real concern once you have little ones. I live in the US south it's painfully hot here in the summer and it's way too hard to find a comprehensive list of what vehicles have B pillar or roof HVAC vents. With a rear-facing Child, this is a huge consideration.

I feel like if the powertrain is making over 200hp, AWD or RWD is pretty much a requirement for the car to not be an absolutely mess under heavy acceleration. The CIvic Type R is the only exception due to it's unique suspension, steering and stability control setup. Glad Kia has this pretty normal vehicle sorted when it comes to handling. I know savagegeese had major problems with the 2.5T K5 FWD model.

I have 2021 2.5 turbo sorento with a family of 4. (Two car seats) pretty big enough but i wish i have bought Telluride instead i think that naturally aspirated v6 is a better option than a wet DCT which requires more maintenance in general..
