I'm sure the overdrive pedals you're using make a world of difference though. Still, being able to get in this ball park would be awesome!
Why do you prefer using a gate pedal since you have gate in hx stomp? Do you feel like the analog drives/ boost are actually complimenting the helix instead of just using the built in boosts and od pedals for the job? Great video!
Very cool setup, Andrew! I'm using a somewhat similar setup with a Temple Audio Board, a Powerstage 170 and a Digitech Drop pedal. I use the Fractal AX8 instead of the HX Stomp, but I'm looking into possibly getting a Stomp because of its smaller size. The 3-band EQ on the Powerstage is great for situations like you said where you show up to a gig and just use whatever cabinet you have available. It's so simple to just use that EQ section instead of digging through your modeler to dial in a better tone with the cabinet.
Bro can you do some close up looks at that pedal board setup. Like the input output jacks on the sides and stuff. That's really clean and simple looking but not sure all the parts I would need. Badass setup man sounds sick.
Such a simple setup. I love it. I also don't care about cabs that much either. I think for myself, as a grassroots band (in my opinion) a high end cab wouldn't make much of a difference at the shows I play. Also love the lights!
You should 100% care about cabs! Cabs can really kill your tone if you have to use a junk one. Would highly recommend a Mesa vertical 2x12. Amazing sound, small, light and portable.
Hi Andrew. I have the same guitar as you. I don't like the pickups at all in this one. Loved them in my solar A1.6 PB - I just find the pickups flub out and lack of highs. Do you find there is a notable difference between this and your other 7s?
I’ve been aiming to get the SD Powerstage. I’m trying to fit my amp on my pedal board because I’m lazy and after 23 years of playing and 15 years of lugging heavy ass gear around, I just don’t wanna do that anymore😂
The Powerstage 170 rules so hard! I'm so happy I got one. I also got sick of lugging all that heavy equipment around. There's a new Powerstage 200 that is coming out soon that has a couple of extra features on it so I'm going to be upgrading to that version once it's out.
What is the impedance on your panama cab? I recently purchased a ps170 and have been shopping for a 4x12, just curious to see how different impedances have been working for everyone seeing as how the actual wattage is relatively low through 16ohms. Thanks!
I always thought your room is so cool... but, aside that... i have another thought in my mind from some time. What about... DOUBLE DROP D# tuning? (two octaves below d# standard). Obiouvsly on 9 strings guitar (with the 8th and 9th strings tuned in octaves like architects) i know you can do it :D
I have the regular drop as well. Zero latency issues. Only negative I have is that as you drop lower, it seems to affect my tone a bit. But that can be fixed with the amp eq
No one else has the big whammy pedal. Everyone I know either has just the DT or just the Whammy meanwhile I’m here with this giant ass red pitch shifter on my board.
