Interesting that they took lots of ideas from the Chinese release and touched them up for use later outside. Honestly, I still wish they had just added all this into the regular version. It’s so cool.

I remember using it to cheese so many stages and even ones with higher level zombies to grind for puzzle pieces (iceberg lettuce being free, have a short range projectile like puff shroom was really effective.) Pirate Sea not being able to plant at the front column was actually a huge hit.
7:12 Fun fact: The Fire Gourd costume is a refernce to a popular chinese animated series name "Calabash Brothers". Don't know what it's call in chinese tho

Fun fact when pvz2 China first came out heavenly peach was absurdly busted. Her healing was ridiculously good and could make non-defensive plants unkillable. They nerfed her soon after and now she’s what she is today, and instead the busted healing plant is now Aloe in the Chinese version
I don’t really care about not having a lot of the Chinese plants in the international version but heavenly peach is an exception, I’ve always wanted a plant that functions as the “Support tower” (A tower found in tower defence games which has the role of making nearby towers stronger) in Plants Vs Zombies.
Fun Fact: The costume for Fire Gourd is a reference to an 80s Chinese cartoon Calabash Brothers. That show has magical calabashes that turn into magical children with powers, each with a different colour of the rainbow. And I'm pretty sure it was either the red or orange one that was essentially a firebender and could even consume fire without any harm Also, I could be wrong, but the whole less power if not charged thing might also be a nod to the episode of that show where the snake demon captures the fire child by giving him and his water counterpart an endless amount of alcohol for saving them from a magic fire they caused by accident. It definitely looks like the fire gourd is drunk when it starts to recharge
My favorite part of this video was hearing someone recognize the pure beauty of Sonic Unleashed and it’s music, Heavenly peach was that more interesting to learn about, and is now my favorite Chinese exclusive plant
Despite the chinese version having issues we can't forget all of the things that make this better such as more unique minigames more interesting plants and mechanics as well more stuff in story and the fact that balancing gets wacky but not only that there is more variation then the international version however the negatives or the bugs but remember that this is made in another country so there are going to be walls and boundaries we can't pass but just appreciate we have this
even if early PvZ2C plants are poorly animated, they still have the charm that makes them goofy and silly like the rest of the other plants in the international version ...or at least the adventure mode plants
I can fully understand why some worlds were removed- a majority of the Chinese plants seem to be just “lock & key”; existing only to counter specific zombies and nothing else kinda like Cactus in PvZ1.
Lots of plants in the international version are like that too. E.M.Peach for robots, Sun Bean only being useful in Dark Ages, Tangle Kelp only being useable in Big Wave Beach since the pool system was removed, Hot Potato being exclusive to Frostbite Caves, Pepper-pult being completely useless besides his heat effect, Gold Leaf being exclusive to Lost City, Phat Beet being terrible and his only gimmick that he’s immune to Boombox Zombie, Thyme Warp being exclusive to Neon Mixtape Tour, and Perfume-shroom only existing for the dinosaurs. That comes out to about one every world that’s either exclusive or a counter to a single gimmick, which is pretty much the same as the Chinese version. At least most counter plants in the Chinese version are decent. All the ones I just listed are either overpowered or terrible.
7:52 this reminds me of the sad society that they thought it was a good idea to make Jack O' Lantern an automatic plant in an update basically nerfing him in most cases
Well it's good that he can attack automatically since I won't be paying much attention to him when there's so much stuff going around on screen. I remember back then when they first introduced him, he was one of the "manual" plants, as in, plants that require the player to manually attack the zombies by tapping them
I can see where you are coming from and atleast for me my only problem with modern him is that the first zombie in his range he attacks wasting his attack I felt like the purpose of Jack O' Lantern was to wait for the right time to use him like when a group of zombies come instead of one zombie, but once again I do see where you are coming from since you have to keep track of Jack O' Lantern since you have you use him in the right time, especially since this gets more difficult with multiple Jacks on the field
My thoughts on each plant (Going off their LVL 1 versions): Radish is just a Wall-nut that counters exactly TWO Zombies (One of which is incredibly rare). I could see him being useful if he was immune to all Zombies with pushing/pulling abilities (Like Mecha-Football, Punk, Fisherman, etc.), though. Fire Gourd looks like a pretty solid plant, being a fusion of Jack-o-Lantern and Coconut Cannon. It also makes me wish the former was still a manual/tap-to-use Plant. Bamboo Shoot honestly looks really bad. Just a worse a much, much, much worse Fume-shroom (Even if it technically predates Fume-shroom in PVZ 2). Heavenly Peach is honestly what I thought/wished Aloe was gonna be back when that came out. Solid plant, but I don’t really see myself using it much.
It would be nice if the plants were less Lock&Key for only specific zombies. Like the Radish. If it was universally unmovable, That would be something nice for a bunch of different worlds and zombies. Perhaps make it take damage when blocking other things, Since those zombies can't deal damage normally. Stopping fishermen in BigWaveBeach. Stopping FootballMechs in Future, stopping Excavators in Lost City, Stopping Punks in NeonMixtape.
I love how the system in pvz2 china works but the only downside to pvz2 china is steam ages. However, I reccomend to get pvz2 china because not only does it have more plants with more abilities (including plants from pvz2 international) but it has more worlds to play and new zombies to come across (including old worlds from pvz2 international).
Radish should be a plant unable to get pulled, thrown or moved (think of it like Infinut's PF forcefield, where zombies like Punk, Excavator or Mecha Football attack it instead of moving it) It should cost about 125 and then it'd be fair
If Kung Fu world hypothetically ever made it's way into the international version, would Fire Gourd even be in the international version? Technically, Jack o lantern and Fire Gourd are both gourds with firey powers.
So at level 3 bamboo has a decent chance of knocking zombies back, not to mention spamming it is a thing due to its low recharge (although idk 175 may be a tad costly for something like this) Nevertheless, if spammed like spikeweed, level 3 bamboo could be a hell of a stalling tool.

Flag Zombie I love your content, I have been watching you for very long time and you are one of my favorite youtubers!❤❤ This morning, when I was playing PvZ2 Chinese, I discovered a bug. If you plant Fire Gourd on the left side of lawn, on the 3rd column, then if you tap on it, it will always fire plantfooded attack, even tho you didn't gave him any. Hope you will discuss this in tge next video.❤❤
I remember when I played this before the difficulty got nerfed I think radish and peach are the only ones I ever used when not forced to Bamboo is a cool idea but he’s just So bad without leveling up and even then
7:48 So, basically Fire Gourd is the original Jack O' Lantern. EDIT: 10:47-11:04 I love that part of the song; But thinking about it, most of the maps in the Chinese version have some likable tunes (Neon Mixtape Tour being a prime example).
im so excited because i really want to try out plants in chinese pvz2 and there is some chinese guys who going to make an pvz2 fan game where all of pvz games will be in one game and the game will be called "plants vs zombies:universe" and there be an english translated version.just search their channel its "plants vs zombies:universe"
I love how (at 9:05) Bamburrow just said “ *SHUT* ” And that had me rotfl 😂😂😂😂 Also, I said Bamburrow and not bamboo shoots is because of the fact there's already one in PvZ 3, and Bamburrow is the name mentioned in the Wiki. Bamboo shoot is probably a translation so, it might not be accurate, and Bamburrow seems more fitting as well.
It’s acually 30 pieces for lv2 50 for 3 and 4 and 80 for lv 5 when leveling up you plants(for the plants who have lv5 at least, not every plant have a lv 5)
I'm gonna try to make a list on all of these videos where you analyze the china-exclusive plants where I guess which mint family would belong these plants if they were on international(incluiding a reason why I chose a certain mint family): Radish: Reinforce-Mint(for being a low-health defensive plant with the ability to protect other plants from being pulled by the Qigong Zombie, gargantuars and black holes) Fire Gourd: Pepper-Mint(self explanatory, Jack o' Lantern before Jack o' Lantern was a thing) Bamboo Shoot: Spear-Mint(for being a plant that does light damage to all zombies in a mid-range, plus it can't be attacked by most zombies similar to spikeweed-like plants) Heavenly Peach: Reinforce-Mint(if Aloe, another support plant that heals other plants is on Reinforce-Mint family then so would be Heavenly Peach)
Radish is really similar to Primal Wall-But, Fire Gourd is really similar to Jack O Lantern, and Heavenly Peach is really similar to Aloe. Bamboo Shoot is pretty unique, but also really bad, especially considering it costs 175 Sun.
When the PvP still exist I always use Mecha Football Zombies Give it Plague Pharmacy & pray the football to hit the right plants (Like Monkeyfruits, this plant is annoying especially if it's lvl 4) & if there are plants that can stun them when they enter the lawn I use Fog of War b4 sending the Mecha Footballs so they don't die before any football thrown
I messed up with the leveling system. It's 30 Puzzle Pieces for level 2, 50 for level 3 and 4, then 80 for level 5.
Sorry about that.

I really want to see the features from the chinese version be added to the international version either via a mod or a fan game, while some plants and worlds can be unpolished (*cough* *cough* steam ages *cough*) I think the new plants and zombies can be really unique at times and fun to play with
edit: thanks reflourished
5:33 what music is this? It sounds like ninja bodyguard from rhythm heaven
Radish : Reinforce-Mint
Fire Gourd : Pepper-Mint
Bamboo Shoot : Spear-Mint
Heavenly Peach: Reinforce-Mint
Bamboo shoot basically a kamikaze guy with pianist zombie
Flag Zombie I love your content, I have been watching you for very long time and you are one of my favorite youtubers!❤❤ This morning, when I was playing PvZ2 Chinese, I discovered a bug. If you plant Fire Gourd on the left side of lawn, on the 3rd column, then if you tap on it, it will always fire plantfooded attack, even tho you didn't gave him any. Hope you will discuss this in tge next video.❤❤
Fun fact: In the earliest version in the game, bamboo shoot have a different attack
I remember when I played this before the difficulty got nerfed
I think radish and peach are the only ones I ever used when not forced to
Bamboo is a cool idea but he’s just
So bad without leveling up and even then
7:48 So, basically Fire Gourd is the original Jack O' Lantern.
EDIT: 10:47-11:04 I love that part of the song; But thinking about it, most of the maps in the Chinese version have some likable tunes (Neon Mixtape Tour being a prime example).
9:04
“SHUT” -Bamboo Shoot
im so excited because i really want to try out plants in chinese pvz2 and there is some chinese guys who going to make an pvz2 fan game where all of pvz games will be in one game and the game will be called "plants vs zombies:universe" and there be an english translated version.just search their channel its "plants vs zombies:universe"
forgot to add that pvz2 chinese version and international verson will be in this game. pvz1 and pvz online too
The pvz 2 chinese version is like a whole different game, very interesting
him:enough to kill a basic zombie and thats all
imp zombie:WHAT ABOUT ME >:(
14:45 who do you need to mend armor? A blacksmith or a healer?
Ooh, a blacksmith would make for a good idea for a plant.
Another nice thing about radishes plant food is that he goes back up to full health
didn't expect you to throw in club penguin card-jitsu sound track at 13:47
Little bit of fun fact: if your screen is wide enough
When you plant fire gourd's fire can be (almost) infinite range when the fire hit collum 9+
Radish can stop a black hole, but not a simple push
... yeah
Radish is simply too stupid to observe physics
I love how (at 9:05) Bamburrow just said
“ *SHUT* ” And that had me rotfl 😂😂😂😂
Also, I said Bamburrow and not bamboo shoots is because of the fact there's already one in PvZ 3, and Bamburrow is the name mentioned in the Wiki. Bamboo shoot is probably a translation so, it might not be accurate, and Bamburrow seems more fitting as well.
If the plants have their own Mint Family:
Radish - Reinforce Mint
Bottle Gourd - Pepper Mint
Bamboo Shoot - Spear Mint
Heavenly Peach - Enchant Mint
@@ninjapirate123 oh yeah ok sorry 😅
It’s acually 30 pieces for lv2 50 for 3 and 4 and 80 for lv 5 when leveling up you plants(for the plants who have lv5 at least, not every plant have a lv 5)
Yeah sorry about that, just pinned a comment to clarify.
Ok no problem
I'm gonna try to make a list on all of these videos where you analyze the china-exclusive plants where I guess which mint family would belong these plants if they were on international(incluiding a reason why I chose a certain mint family):
Radish: Reinforce-Mint(for being a low-health defensive plant with the ability to protect other plants from being pulled by the Qigong Zombie, gargantuars and black holes)
Fire Gourd: Pepper-Mint(self explanatory, Jack o' Lantern before Jack o' Lantern was a thing)
Bamboo Shoot: Spear-Mint(for being a plant that does light damage to all zombies in a mid-range, plus it can't be attacked by most zombies similar to spikeweed-like plants)
Heavenly Peach: Reinforce-Mint(if Aloe, another support plant that heals other plants is on Reinforce-Mint family then so would be Heavenly Peach)
I like how bamboo shot in wild west, pirate seas, and modern day is pretty much a suicide plant
the bamboo shoot used to attack like a bloomerang until they changed it some while ago
Radish is really similar to Primal Wall-But, Fire Gourd is really similar to Jack O Lantern, and Heavenly Peach is really similar to Aloe. Bamboo Shoot is pretty unique, but also really bad, especially considering it costs 175 Sun.
Remember, all three of those came out long before any of the western copies.
Funnily enough, all three you mentioned came after their chinese counterparts. so...
So Bamboo Shoot is basically Ent
Out of every single plant in this world, Radish is the best, due to its fast recharge time and it’s types of protections to use.
Heavenly patch reminds me of a peach in mythology that when eaten makes you immortal but gives 100 years of life if sniffed
Fun fact: Bamboo Shoot and Radish’s names are now Bamburrow and Resistant Radish
Bro why fire gourd look like he just busted after he attacks
Was I the only one disappointed with the attack animation for the fire gourd?
nope
Will you do analysis for the zombies in PvP mode? From my memory, maxing it all out isn't particularly hard, so it shouldn't be too difficult.
They actually removed this mode from the game sadly.
I'm bummed they removed it because that's how I got level 4 monkey king kiwi
When the PvP still exist I always use Mecha Football Zombies
Give it Plague Pharmacy & pray the football to hit the right plants (Like Monkeyfruits, this plant is annoying especially if it's lvl 4)
& if there are plants that can stun them when they enter the lawn I use Fog of War b4 sending the Mecha Footballs so they don't die before any football thrown
@@flagzombie oh... welp that's sad. I remember spamming Tier 4 doctor zombies randomly as a 8 year old.
I hate it when pvp mode is removed, now tis harder to get lvl 5 plants
What is that gun thing at 11:20? Will there be a video about it?(or about power-up in general?)
Bamboo shot is overpowered on level 2 because it can push back zombies making him a great plant to stall zombies whith the knock back effect
