@@smolsmall4491 Did you know that DOOM SHROOM was a tier zero plant in PVZ 1 multi-player? This is because coffee bean in that mode only costs 25 sun, so the plant just becomes the ultimate counter.
It's upsetting how 1-note some of the plants are, usually they're just a counter to a single zombie or gimmick, like the Radish or Dripphylleia, and they're usually pretty bad at it, especially in the case of Flatshroom. Like, Dripphylleia would be so much cooler if it extinguished all fire, like torch zombie and whatnot. I think Splitting Stephania works here, because it's an attacking plant with an extra use of countering Ninjimps. Orchid Chef as well, as a kinda garlic-y plant, with the ability to counter sushi zombies.
Geisha Flower is a good one. It'd synergize with knockback plants like Chard Guard, Spring Bean to hit zombies multi-lane which possibly makes it a decent answer against early-game spam (especially given it costs only 175 sun).
@@crconan3518 You are missing a crucial fact though. Unlike Bloomerang, this requires a cavity lane between two others lanes to work. Hence, you need to dedicate seed slots for some niche/special plants for diverting zombies to other lanes, pushing them back, etc. Like Thane mentioned, you can do that by using Orchid Chef to shove the zombies to other lanes. I suppose, Garlic and Sweet Potato can also create such a cavity. You could use knockback plants like I mentioned or plants which slow down zombies. Notice that this plant will get no value if the closest column where zombies are present has atleast a zombie in each row. I will agree that this plant is kind of broken but apart from the aesthetics, I don't think that it is that similar to Bloomerang.

I think people have forgotten that tower defence games are supposed to have towers and units that specifically encounter different enemies. Most of these plants do have additional uses (except for the water plant) but the others do seem to be viable on their own as well
I like seeing how a lot of these plants have uses outside of only stopping the antics of one zombie, like how Windbreak Dendrobium doubles as a Wall-Nut that can also stop Onmyoji Zombie's antics, or how Splitting Stephania has splash damage which IIRC is actually quite rare among plants. Orchid Chef's shuffling of lines is really goofy and I can see it being useful to try and blunt the impacts of one line being overwhelmed. Dripphylleia is definitely the weakest link though. Being the /only/ plant who can stop Firework Zombie from burning everything around it, but also being totally unable to put out fires used by /any/ other zombie doesn't make any sense, and I think it's the epitome of what people are referring to when they complain about PVZ2C having plants that 'only exist to counter one zombie'.

The Geisha Flower’s costume effect seems to launch the extra fan forward. Most noticeable for the 2nd lane imp that got hit, where an extra fan went forward
Not going to lie, I would love to see a pvz 2 mod, where both the international and Chinese version are playable, fully English. Also fixing a lot of the bugs and adding more common sense changes (water putting out the fire, for an example)
Some things like the kunai tupistra being plantable on planks and the spikes being On water and damaging Flying zombies just seem like talkweb's laziness while making the mechanics

yeah, some of the universal plants have more sinister undertones in their descriptions (Gold Bloom's is literally just the "they were so focused on whether they could, they didn't stop to think of whether they should" meme), whereas the the closest the Chinese plants have to that (as far as I've seen at least) is Orchid Chef's, which describes him as formerly being a good chef until he found a mysterious cookbook, which he "started praising as gospel".

IMO, the next world (Fairytale Forest) has the best main music out of the Chinese worlds. Anyway, my opinions on these plants: Dripphylleia: Only useful against Firework Zombie. I think it should be able to extinguish torches and dynamite too (yes I know ice can extinguish them, but that's not how it works IRL; ice would melt if it hit a torch IRL). Splitting Stephania: Yet another situational and gimmicky plant. I still need to test its pea-deflecting abilities (I heard on the wiki that it can reflect Gatling Pea Zombie's peas). Orchid Chef: Why is this unlocked with Puzzle Pieces? It's weird when you think about that since other gimmicky plants, like Splitting Stephania and Fanilla, are unlocked before you meet the zombie they're made to counter. Kunai Tupistra: I unlocked this when Card Clash was still around. It's not a bad plant. Windbreak Dendrobium: Too many plants in this world are gimmick counters. Do I need to explain why that's a bad idea? Geisha Flower: Better Bloomerang.
Actually, Windbreak Dendrobium has as much health as a Tall Nut and recharges way faster for only 300 sun, if all 3 are planted next to each other, because each adjacent Windbreak Dendrobium has +25% health when placed next to each other (3 Tall Nuts costs 375 Sun). Oh, and you get fast-recharge Wax Gourd at Level 5.

That water plant infuriates me. It's super slow, it's an instant plant, it doesn't deal damage, and it doesn't really slow effectively, it counters an opponent who can already be soft countered in other ways and isn't so powerful that you have to have this plant.

IMO, the next world (Fairytale Forest) has the best main music out of the Chinese worlds.
Anyway, my opinions on these plants:
Dripphylleia: Only useful against Firework Zombie. I think it should be able to extinguish torches and dynamite too (yes I know ice can extinguish them, but that's not how it works IRL; ice would melt if it hit a torch IRL).
Splitting Stephania: Yet another situational and gimmicky plant. I still need to test its pea-deflecting abilities (I heard on the wiki that it can reflect Gatling Pea Zombie's peas).
Orchid Chef: Why is this unlocked with Puzzle Pieces? It's weird when you think about that since other gimmicky plants, like Splitting Stephania and Fanilla, are unlocked before you meet the zombie they're made to counter.
Kunai Tupistra: I unlocked this when Card Clash was still around. It's not a bad plant.
Windbreak Dendrobium: Too many plants in this world are gimmick counters. Do I need to explain why that's a bad idea?
Geisha Flower: Better Bloomerang.
Ice can still extinguish fireworks zombie flames either way
Actually, Windbreak Dendrobium has as much health as a Tall Nut and recharges way faster for only 300 sun, if all 3 are planted next to each other, because each adjacent Windbreak Dendrobium has +25% health when placed next to each other (3 Tall Nuts costs 375 Sun). Oh, and you get fast-recharge Wax Gourd at Level 5.
Quite of bit this is wrong these plants have use outside of their gimmicks.

That water plant infuriates me. It's super slow, it's an instant plant, it doesn't deal damage, and it doesn't really slow effectively, it counters an opponent who can already be soft countered in other ways and isn't so powerful that you have to have this plant.
As someone who doesn't know anything about this game, this was really helpful for informing about the plants. How is it overanalyzing though?
