What about if you want to release music for free and let people download it for free too but you want to avoid copyright issues in case anyone would want to claim your own work by placing that upon it? I have started creating a single album in 2011 and made it by 2014 but I am so afraid of these labels that I've never publicly published it anywhere out of this fear. I don't particularly agree with any license and I'd much prefer to have something on my own but I by no means understand the law and don't necessarily know if it's even possible in the first place.
Great advice for the one in a million artists who will ever sign a deal with a record company.

When I was signed I think it made more money for the lawyers than myself or the labels in the long run!
What I'm getting from this video is that as an upcoming artist, you need a music lawyer. I would like to believe this ties into deals made with either labels or endosers. However, I don't think it's a good idea for an upcoming artist to have a lawyer, unles there are distribution issues
