I'm a qualified Support Worker in the community, but my main dream has always been to be a professional singer-songwriter; I keep my mind and heart focused on the difference that I can make instead of the money and fame I can gain, as I shine my light of love! 🌟

    You basically want artists who don't need you and should just get a business loan to grow independently. Don't we all.

    Genuinely curious. In this video, you said you like artists who experiment and do wild things like Queen. But in many of your previous videos, you said to stick to a defined genre. Did your strategy change?

    • @Burstimo
      @Burstimo  5 місяців тому +10

      Fair question because we always say stick to your genre at the beginning and still believe in this. When we say experiment, it's more with content, brand and image and be confident in trying new things. With the music itself, you can be experimental but still within your genre as otherwise, it makes getting algorithmic support super difficult.
      At the end of the day, we'd much rather support a passionate artist that wants to grow and switch things up than someone who is copy and pasting the same sound over and over, so it's finding that middle ground.

    When you have 5 monthly listeners and 18 followers, it's real tempting to buy streams and followers. I'd also take a wild guess that they don't have anywhere near a 1000 real streams per song.

    Regarding intros you can solve the problem by creating two versions. The first original song is the artistic version with the long intro, then there can be a radio edit or so, without the intro. Then everyone may choose the favorite version.

    Chuck spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks I 100% agree with you. I've been in marketing and SEO for 9 years building businesses from nothing with SEO, paid ads and re-marketing, but music is new to me and I know nothing about the market so learning as much as I can for my next step music so channels like yours have been very good for my research. Because you know in music value and data determines your results, i'm trying to get as much data as I can. I like what you said about people that lie to themselves, I see it all the time and you can spot them a mile off and the best thing to do is to pre qualify them and move on fast. Thank you for the tips guys this page is gold.

      Compose to visuals. I love that guy who puts captions like "POV: You're 1980s Miami detective driving to investigate a crime scene"
      You can use AI such as Midjourney to find the right visuals, make people feel something or allow their mind to meditate on a different life.
      Or find footage that you can add your music over.
      This will gain you both followers and streams

    “Picky” means they have to already have a big fan base for the agency to work off of, because agencies have no idea how to build a fan base from scratch. They charge massive amounts of money and if they don’t get results (which they can almost never demonstrate), they blame the client. Agencies and consultants are notorious across all businesses as a scam and waste of money 99% of the time.

    Your point about artists with fake streams..... we've just started releasing a new artist. We have a 14 track album ready to go which we're drip feeding singles from over the next year... my question tho is that both our distributor (distrokid) and spotify themselves are super, super strict about botted playlists and fake streams, if you're found to have them then your catalog can be deleted, so how are artists getting away with fake streams to that extent? Having a million fake streams? If spotify are so militant about that how are they still on the platform? I'm finding it extra difficult to find the right promotion companies for fear of them using botted playlists even when they say they are organic.

    • @Burstimo
      @Burstimo  5 місяців тому

      Because they're lying to you. Spotify don't care about bots because it makes no difference to them whether bots exist on their platform or not. Distributors don't care because they just do what Spotify tells them to do.
      The only loser is the artist who has been mugged off.

      @Burstimo I'm new to this digital distribution stuff. Very different to putting vinyl out back in the day. Why would spotify and distrokid lie? Surely it's the promoters that would be lying about whether streams are real or not? So you're saying we could find a botted playlist, get millions and millions of fake streams that would generate real revenue and spotify would be fine with that? Seems suspect to me 🤔

    Little bums me out more about musical artists faking their accounts. I had a close friend that did this, had over 200k followers on Instagram but at least 90 percent was fake, and when he would talk about social media I began to not know if he actually began to believe he had that following or not. Totally delusional, narcissistic madness. I put out an album he mixed and mastered and he promoted it, but I could tell he was embarrassed it did not help me in the slightest so he bought a ton of views for my Spotify and everyone thought I bought them and I tried to tell them what really happened but I could tell most didn't believe me. Made me terribly uncomfortable. I didn't feel like confronting him head on as it's soo fkn sad, so I just told him someone bought all these views for me and I hate that and how gross that is and I only care about what's real and I removed the song and just reposted it. He tried to say nobody did and that it was just because he posted it.. Bs it was exactly 2k views 2 days after he posted it and nothing but bot comments on it. Artists can be geniuses but nothing excuses this level of narcissist delusional fkn madness.

      I'm reality. Nobody needs these companies. You can learn the skills for free on the Internet and try things out until you get your niche. You can copy successful small artists, watch what they do, how often they release, what they do on social media, what their songs are like etc.

    • @guilhermelazzari760

      I paid for their services two years ago, which was not worth it. They created a basic ad campaign on Meta Ads (zero focus on giving me feedback on whether the ad creatives were good or where to improve) and put my song in their playlists. The song got a couple of thousand streams from their playlists (nothing from ads, wasted money) and once the month ended, they took my song out of their playlists and that was it. Long story short, learn how to make Meta Ads campaigns on your own to grow your own playlists and promote your songs once they are out (focus most of the budget in the first 14 days to trigger the algorithm). You don't need to hire services like this.
