Thanks to your video I am currently changing out my clutch on a 2019 FX - SVHO. So far there’s only a few minor changes to negotiate in the removal process of the clutch housing.
@@SlayerHawkX If you are mechanically inclined then this will be a breeze. My local shop wanted $1800 to do this so I did it myself and saved a lot of money.
Any chance you can load the Part 2 to Vimeo, or another platform? I am in need of doing this to my machine, and would feel better if I had the 2nd part of the video. Is it simply just replacing everything in reverse order, or is there something else needing to be known?
Do you have a shop or contact info ? I have a 2014 fx svho and 3 rides ago I thought it just needed to warm up which is did. 2 rides ago I thought I was done for.. Had power but not supercharger power and then went back to normal after warming up. 1 and last ride i though I blew the supercharger it just had power like a none supercharged fx and road it for about 10 min and finally let my wife ride it for about 30 min and when i got back on it it was back to normal. Nothing in the impeller. Wear ring looks great. Has 30 hours on the ski.
What is the oil line for? My oil line was leaking at the clamp. Repaired that (TIG weld). Now the ski bogs down when accelerating and only runs 7k rpm. Supercharger only turns clockwise from the front.
What was the symptoms that you knew that you needed a new clutch bearings myski is only going 40 miles an hour I feel like the superchargers not engaging and it only has 36 hours
Mine after going hard for about 10 min . Check engine light and temp light went on . Had to wait 5 min and then after was fine . Not sure what could be the issue 😢
@elbatobeach. it would be correct to say never use AUTOMOTIVE synthetic oil that has friction modifiers in the oil. My SVHO has oem clutch at 235 hrs. and i use only full synthetic Marine oil since new. The oil i prefer has no friction modifiers and lasts significantly longer than Yamalube in my SVHO. Yamalube confirms that from 1m 18 seconds to 1m 42 seconds of the video, link here: ua-cam.com/video/1iS2-5InrmY/v-deo.html Also, full synthetic PWC oils are coming to N. America soon, they already use full synthetic for PWC in Europe.
May I ask why you purchased a new bolt for the clutch? I know concrete bolts most replace.. but not sure why on this application? Thank you sir Great Video
Great video! Lots of these breaking on modified skis. What about stock machines? Do BOVs help with these issues? BOV needed on stock machines or just modified ones?
Hi, I have a starter problem with my 2015 Yamaha FZS SVHO, the bendix gear doesn't disengage even after the engine has already started. If I use the ski, will my starter get damaged? Also, is it true that when the flywheel spins faster than the starter motor, the bendix gear spins freely even when it has not disengaged from the flywheel? I hope you can help me, thanks.
hello, i have a 2012 fx sho with 160hs and just installed riva stage 1 kit, my waverunner is running pretty well, you reccomend me to change the clutch or wait until i have problem?
You said there are like 16 Allens holding down the oil pump? Other forums say 12. I can only find 11 and don't want to pry it off if there's still 1 Allen hidden somewhere. Already got the one that was in its own hole.
Update...there are only 12 allens on the oil pump. A bit of clarity in this video would have saved a ton of frustration looking for the other bolts. You are a man of few words in this video. I had many to say as I was cursing looking for these dang bolts!!!!!
I know the clutch was over 400 by its self then you have bolt and gasket, they might be replacing spur gear also, dean's team racing has better race clutches you might want to look in to and have a non dealer install it or install yourself and get something better in there for the money your going to spend.
awesome detail -- while I have done this myself you made it look easy and with less time

I have one in stock it's a torque to yield bolts it's only a 1 time use you have to throw it away when you're done
Great video! Lots of these breaking on modified skis. What about stock machines? Do BOVs help with these issues? BOV needed on stock machines or just modified ones?
Bov help but it has to do with riding in rough water and driving style

What is the difference in parts from sho to svho? I can't find info anywhere
If you want to convert you need everything changed including spur gear
I have fx sho 175 hours and is good I don't know why u burned the clutch Apart when it is bad runs free for both sides
Baroy Leyva they don't last in chop with aftermarket supercharger wheels
Tell me please i nees to get down the oil engine?
Sorry but I don't understand your question?
Is a svho clutch a direct fit to a 2009 fzr sho engine???
sebastian nagaro no need gear set also
turbota38 do you know the part number??
How did you know it was bad? I have a bone stock 09 FZR with 160hrs that doesn't miss a beat, don't wanna get stuck tho...
dana v boost on mine was 4 psi lower then normal I normaly see 20 to 21 psi and I was at 16-17
dana v you wont be stuck up. It will go 5000rpm without boost. No damage.
I have a 2018 gp 1800. Stage 1 + , bov. Over the weekend im pretty sure my supercharger went out. How can i tell if its the clutch or shaft ??
How do you know your clutch was gone?
He said he was losing boost also if you spin your wheel it is only supposed to spin one direction. If it spins both ways it’s shot.
may i ask what ur symptoms were?
Low boost
19 hours of riding hard and it fails? What a piece of shit!!!Still better than a Rotax
Al Orihuela all how you ride there bud, no wot in the chop, no releasing throttle fast, and no in and out of gas
