I usually have an idea if I want to get a game or not, and if I’m on the fence I watch as much stuff as I can on it, just to get an idea of what I’d be getting I don’t look at or care about scores I just want to know if I’ll find it fun by seeing the game
it goes live at 12am on Tuesday which is kinda Monday night and 10am tuesday for pc
I wonder if they think that reviews dont matter and people seem to have made up their minds already. So just let the game speak for itself.
My philosophy is I do my research I watch the gameplay and in some cases I get to play it early to solidify my opinion whether I’m purchasing for launch 🚀 or waiting til it’s cheaper to pick it up later as the desire isn’t as strong. My eyes 👀 also do the decision making. As a gamer you should know what you like and don’t these genres don’t change only the setting. I make my own decisions. Not listen to another person to affirm my purchasing decisions.

Maybe Review key codes will be sent out on January 30th? Servers will be live January 30th (Delux Edition release date).
People are now getting messages from WB that review codes will go out next week when the severs are go up. In a way I like this because the players get to speak first and voice their own opinions good or bad instead listening to some of these critics that have it out for this game, cough cough IGN!

This I prefer demos than an actual review because you get to test the game before buying. It gives you a sample of what to expect.

I think Rockstesdy and WB are hiding the game to a degree. The press events have been disastrous in reception to them. It’s been nothing but mixed reactions across the board by the audience itself no unifying reactions. Lastly, again this being live service is still a thorn in the games side and will always be a detractor
Either hiding stuff is a good thing or this might be a mess. My copium side tells me that maybe there is a bunch of stuff they want the player to experience for themselves and be surprised by and then my other side is telling me that this game is pretty much what we've seen already. We're just gonna have to wait and see I guess.
They hide a lot. Whenever I see an ad in PlayStation or UA-cam they never show off combat only cutscenes
They said they’re releasing offline mode after the game comes out but I don’t understand why release a physical disc with no offline mode on it why not just wait?

I think it might just be as simple as the servers don’t go live till the 30th so people just can’t play till then.
While review scores are generally meaningless it's nice to see someone speak on the whole product ahead of time in the form of a review is nice and sending out review codes shows that a studio has confidence in their product.
For every Doom 2016 that pulled the whole "don't send review codes out on time" thing that ultimately gets well received there's more than a few that...well they didn't send out review code for a reason.
Absolutely. Very well said. Everyone's different, and some value reviews higher than others and that's fine. But regardless of that it's exactly what you said. It's more confidence and just discourse online. You want it to be positive. You want those 8's or higher days and days before and just positive talk going on, regardless if people care or not

Gaming scores aren’t meaningless, those scores will determine how well the game sells. Low scores means low revenue a majority of the time.

Dont do it. The game is going to be a grindfest, live service piece of trash. Dont waste your money. It will go on sale 50% within 3 months and free to play later on in the year.

The game got BUTCHERED in the pre-release tests and im sure they saw pre order sales tank. They are probably just scared further reviews will kill it completely. Games are expensive

Bottom Line; the closer to the date is worse the look. I bought this game premium I’m hype either way but I believe in this game. The consumer who doesn’t preorder games is depending on the review to tell them if they should spend the money they worked hard to earn. If reviews come out and the game doesn’t score well that’s another dollar out of rocksteady and the all more likelyhood that this game doesn’t survive. I want this game to succeed. And they even had a phenomenal Q&A today that felt so confident and ready. No reviews will appear before the 30th. Simply bc reviews don’t come out on the weekends. I hope it does well but this won’t help its case. Love the videos bro

They want the bad review scores to come out a couple of days after people bought the game. They probably already prepared a bag of money to metacritic and opencritic to remove every users score below 8.0
Worth noting it’s a live-service and reviews coming after launch for such games isn’t necessarily unusual. See Destiny.
How can you give a live service multiplayer shooter a fair review without playing it with real players all the way into the end game? You can't, these games have to be reviewed live. But those of us who know this are in the minority
This is a pretty good, mature take however one point is drastically off. You say review scores doesn't matter etc but I'd argue the better the score, the more content and the better value for money the game becomes. For example Gotham knights is completely dead because of bad reviews meaning it's not profitable to update it.
I think the obvious reason is that the game is bad and theyre terrified of what bad reviews are gonna do to sales

I can’t argue that hiding the reviews is a bad look but I mean Arkham origins did it and it’s debatably one of the best Arkham games

The previews commentary already gave ud whatthe media thinks of it. The alpha played great. Hopefully the live service aspect hasnt affected the game

I think this game wouldn’t have that much negative reactions if it was its own thing and not forcefully tied to the Arkham games for extra sales. And the live service thing.
reviewers place way too much importance on themselves, one opinion is not more valuable over any other opinion. I use reviews for information but do not base my purchases on them whatsover. WB sucks.
IGN the most trusted reviewers give a high score of 8/10 for palworld early access. I interested to see what's the game like, but after watching the gameplay I felt it's so boring. So doesn't means high score/low score everyone will buy/not buy. Because I not a fan of pokemon, collecting monster etc. So palworld is not for me. Watch the game play watch the reviews, remaining 50% decision comes for the type of game u like personally.

I think their going to wait until early access because the game is online only, even if they get the codes the reviews won’t even be able to play it until the servers go online and imagine how pissed the reviewers would be because they think the game is broken😂

So how do seasoned players make an educated decision if it's not trough trusted reviewers or previwers? That's the point, we get to see a breakdown of all asoects of the game to see if it's for us. And I do mean people with reputations not ign, obviously I'm not just gonna zip down whatever the studio tells me since they have a bottom line. Otherwise we end up with more days after tomorrow.

Even then sending review codes is a major sign that the developer doesn't have faith in the product, I can only think of a handful of cases where review codes weren't sent out prior and the game ended up being good

The review was the UA-camrs flying out to rocksteady to play the game and review it thats how we got that terrible ign review

I think the reason that there are no reviews on the game yet is because rocksteady wants to wait until early access so that everyone gets their own opinions

I wouldn't want people reviewing it right now either. There is so much negativity around the gaming industry and SS in particular. It's almost like reviews aren't actual reviews anymore. They are just people pushing some sort of agenda against a company or game itself. People are mad that it's not another Batman game so people will do and say anything they can to trash this game. I pre ordered it due to the fact Rocksteady has done everything that I wanted that Avenger's didn't have.

I participated in the closed beta in December and this game doesn't deserve half the attacks it's been receiving, and this is becoming standard with several games released in recent years. The opinion of those who played is positive or at worst average, a bad opinion only comes from those who didn't play.
Honestly, reviewers' words are next to nothing. yes, it's informative and good for indecisive people. But if your deadset is to getting it. After how ive seen how ign bomb games. I cannot trust someone who constantly gives negative scored to actual good games. LIKE open your eyes most games that are reviewed are by big reviews bigger corps behind the scenes pulling strings. This isn't to be rude but to help you understand that not everyone can spend 70 dollars on a game they may hate or the game is just plain bad, reviews help ppl get a look into the game and see what others have to say to see how their experience was. Not everyone plays on steam and can get refunds either
if games weren’t a hundred dollars cad or 70 us or 120 aus, then maybe sure but people do not want to spend a lot of money especially if youre the average gamer if they arent sure its a game they want you know what i mean? so reviews help, from respectable sources i should add. like for me if im on the fence i usually wait for angryjoes review. its not always a hit for me like baulders gate but it helps to learn more about a game from certain people to help your decision wether you wanna spend your hard earned money
I'd rather not spend $70-$100 on something that isn't reviewed well or I haven't heard great things about. Unless it's coming to game pass, it's a pricey gamble I cant afford.
