Another accessory you need is a flash for. the Q3 so that you can suggest and review it for us. I think your choices and reasons for liking your choices are very sensible. Great presentation.
Hi …Thank you…I just recently watched a video where someone was saying the SF26 is the way to go …and it looks like it works really well. The problem is they are impossible to get. I’m still searching however.
@@jasonlynch9979 haha. Same. “Honey, you said we can’t afford treats, why did you just buy a rolex???” “Well my dear, what better way to motivate myself to earn more so we can afford treats!” Boy math?
Great video. You could also consider adding the Leica finger loop to the handgrip. That will totally lock it into your hand, almost impossible to accidentally drop, or someone to snatch it from your hand.
Thanks Jason - Yes, an excellent video.. I purchased a Q3 earlier in the year, so i was very interested in your choice of accessories.. I downloaded the Leica App, this gives a secondary back up for the images, and also the geo location of where you shot them... It does increase the battery load, so that something to consider, but very useful on days out to record where the photos were taken... Best regards from south west England..
Thank you John and Greetings from Vegas ! .. Yes the Leica App is fantastic.. That was a concirn of mine about the camera not having GPS in body.. but that quickly resolved itself with the Leica App. Thanks for watching.
That strap is for bigger heavier cameras with large lenses, On my Q3 I use their Leash strap, it's less likely to scratch the camera if you remove one side when putting it back in the bag and is the right size for it. The one one you choose looks ridiculous on it. I have that bag as well, but there are several better choices for that camera. By the way the Q series have leaf shutters built into the lens and if put away for longer periods when not used should be stored on its back to avoid "droop" occurring on the leaf style shutter.
Hi... Thanks for watching. and your advice, criticism, and opinion. Let me clarify a few things. I chose the strap because it’s comfortable, adjustable, and doesn’t cut into my neck like narrower ones do. It works well for me.. As for the bag, I selected it based on practicality-size, comfort, and affordability. I don’t store my camera in the bag; I only use it for travel. High-end options like Oberwerth are great, but they’re not necessary for everyone, especially when a more budget-friendly option gets the job done (maybe one day). Regarding the leaf shutter, I’ve never encountered 'droop' being a common issue with the Q3, but I’ll look into it.
Enjoyed that Jason - very useful - thanks. You've got a camera and you take photos with it; therefore you're a photographer. You're not Ansel Adams or Annie Leibovitz, but you've got time Sir. All the best and it wasn't until 21.10 when I realised what you were going to do with the Leatherman. 😃
Thank you, Andrew, for watching and commenting... People seem interested in this camera, so I will post another one with photos and some learning curve challenges. I could only imagine the thoughts that people may have had about the leatherman. 🤣
@@jasonlynch9979 I look forward to it. I’ve got an official Leica handgrip on the way, which for reasons I can’t understand is cheaper than their thumb grip (although i’ve had vacations cheaper than that thumb grip, so who knows). I find the Smallrig a bit chunky on the Q3 and not a fantastic fit on the underside with a small but noticeable gap. Anyway, it’s a personal choice; so best wishes to you. 👍
Imo the normal strap you showed there from peak design can scratch the camera. I used to use it more but when you just out your camera in your next car seat for example if they are put next to each other these huge plastic buckles will scratch the sides. So I use different straps for my leica cameras
Hi. I just used painter's tape and a sharp exacto knife to tape off the areas I did not want to paint, mainly the rubber grips and anything else rubber. I linked the exact paint I used in the description of this video, and you can get it on Amazon or at a hardware store. Give it a light sanding and also wipe it down with rubbing alcohol before shooting, and just like anything you paint, use light coats until you get to where you want it. It turned out great. I did chip off the paint on a trip (at the bottom of the grip), but that was super easy to fix... light sanding and re-shoot, and it turns out just as good as new.
@@Rewsky21 There were some beautiful leather bags at the Leica Store … maybe one day if this UA-cam thing works :) PD makes some really functional gear but this camera feels more like art.

Hi Arno.. Apperently you have a lot to say, as you are also making negative comments on my other Leica video. The great thing about UA-cam is you dont have to watch my content. The titles of my videos are super clear. My goal is to help people from a novace perspective. If there is something specifically you would like to see or know about please let me know and maybe I iwll do a video on that. Or if you have a question specifically this would be great dialog. Respectfully however, if your intent is to troll my account then this is not the right channel for you to watch. Have a great day.
@@jasonlynch9979 I am not out to troll your account. I just point out that your vid is totally BS.... Why do a vid like this? For novices? As if accessories are more important than actually share your thought on what this camera can do?
Arno. First off if you are not trolling then I appologize. But your way of providing constructive feedback also falls within the catagory of 100% unadultrated pure BS. :) First off this video is titled clearly that I would be reviewing accessories. So to expect something different is odd. However, to your point I will be doing another video about the camera itself and my experience learning with it to include image quality. I am not a UA-camr and I am not a photographer. The camera as a great tool with an idiot using it.. so I am learning from my mistakes. The content I make is about cycling with a specific type of ebike. I did an unboxing video as a spur of the moment of the Leica Q3 because I thought the experience was different and people seemed to take an interest to it.. This video is performing similarly so there are people interested in the topic.. I do youtube as a hobby so I would gladly make another Q3 video going into some of the cool features and quality.. If there is something of specific interest I would be glad to include it.

Really Right Stuff (RRS) is an amazing L-grip with arca-swiss and QD port. Really well built and matches the Leica form factor and design.
