Kai is the kind of guy that cares about his outfit enough to wear a tie, while at the same time looking like he slept wearing the clothes he showed up for the shooting.
Why waste time changing clothes when you can just keep it on day and night?
@@KaiManWong indeed
🤣🤣🤣
Missed the stained trousers.
@@KaiManWong You don't want your clothes to get jealous either. Changing them all the time like that
I'm getting nostalgic with this DigitalRev kinda feel
panasonic focus, sony sensor, german engineered tilt screen. got it.
And the lens?
Most important it has that German name
panasonic camera for 6.000$
You are very good at copy pasting comments dude 😅
Deutschland design🤷♂️
This is an Porsche in gears👌
Perfect for sitting on a shelf, and using for a single outing at a museum during a vacation once every three years!
Why not regular use?
Kai and Lok really are a dynamic duo glad they're making videos together again, been with you two since the digital rev days, big love.
Really glad you’re back to doing these type of videos. I remember I followed this page when I started photography in 2016 ❤️🥺
When I see any Leica review they tend to ignore the price.
The Q3 is priced way, way beyond any mass market camera! (I saw a review titled 'Leica Q3 - the perfect everyday camera' NO it's f**king not)
My used £400 Lumix G85 and a £300 Leica DG Summilux 15mm is superb.
A gentlemanly - jacket & tie - intro to the Q3 whilst walking around a posh part of London; Piccadilly Circus, Regents street, (with Liberty’s in the background …) on a bright summers day. And yet we still learnt a lot about the Q3, a good basis for further investigation !! Thks very much !!
That's got to be one of the most amazing stylish looking ties I've seen.:)
With the reverso to complete the baas vibes
They should come film some videos in San Francisco or Los Angeles, call it the "armed robbery" edition! Watching them just walk the streets with $10,000 USD in gear, is amazing! Nobody even tried to rob them or looked at them as a target, lol. Just strolling around with all that gear, Leica none the less, but criminals probably don't know what Leica is, but they know cameras are expensive, because everyone knows just a new iPhone Max costs $1400 USD! I love how we can just watch and enjoy the entire reviews, because if you shot a review in San Francisco we'd probably only get a 1/4 review, and then you'd be robbed at rusty knife point.
😂😂😂
What‘s about the specs of the tie … is it all manual?
you are always the best channel on youtube reviewing cameras in my opinion.
Very Very fun
I missed you; its been years since I watched a video from you.The nostalgia hit hard… 😭 😂
Ty Kai/ team you guys rock ✌️
I love it. Now the Q and Q2 can each drop even just a little bit more.
The S5II was the first camera with L² technology (I think it was regarding the image processing and propably autofocus too) - which is basically a joint venture of Leica and Panasonic.
So it's no wonder that Leica also takes advantage of this partnership.
They're in bed together. Compared to the wealth of Panasonic, Leica is a cottage industry. Leica do not make microwave ovens though.
Oh my God, Lok! So kind, so sincere!
I love this channel! I have so many memories watching your videos many years ago!!!!
Kai. Killing the Q3 review. Great and easy watch !
Man you have been killing it with the last few videos! Great work 👍!
Love the way you dress Kai. Style icon!
Kai and Lok. My goodness. Been a long time since I saw those two together on a video. Nice to see. And a Leica breakdown to boot.
Kai always the best palatable reviewing today. well done- the rest imitate
A return to form for Kai, feels nice
I see Kai blocking the path standing like a sumo wrestler, instant like on the video.
For Leica reviews, I allways come back to Lok and Kai.
Kai you're my favorite camera reviewer !
Great details in the video. Staying with my Q2 for now :)
The beautiful accent and the nice outfit really complement the Leica vibe, great job!
Got dressed up for this one buddy! Looks nice!
Fancy seeing you hair!🦁
Nice seeing Kai and Lok review a camera again
Fantastic review!!!. However, I'll be sticking with my Q2.
ayeee, love you brother, for all the effort into your videos!!
Thanks for your Leica vids Kai. I'm a fan of you and your side-kick. You guys are great.
Owned the Q2. Point-n-shoot, unrepairable-anything body & lens. The little plastic auto focus lock button broke. Leica said, can't be fixed. Whole lens assembly replaced, $2,500. Also if you get any dust on the sensor, bill to clean is enormous. That camera can not handle any dust and if you got dust issues, there's no warranty (even though Leica claims quite the opposite about the ruggedness). Buy it, just know it's probably less repairable than an iPhone.
and sony offer free sensor cleaning for the warranty period
I remember my father telling me of how a war correspondent sent in the fragment that was left of his type M after he'd been under attack - and they replaced the whole thing for free. Alas, not how things work under corporate totalitarianism.
That’s crazy, I have the Q2 sent it in for service only had to pay shipping since it was within the warranty period and the repair was kind of my fault. Although I bought it direct from Leica wonder if that makes a difference.
The Q3 has weather sealing. Should help keep dust out.
Man that's rough... I dropped mine the day after i got it... The $600 case protected it so cosmetically and physically i dodged a bullet
Fun video as always.... Lok is right, it is HUGE! Oh, yeah, Kai has a nice 'Preppy look' also! ;-)
I met both of you at Pancras running probably during this shoot, cheers for the photos.
I've the Q as a backup camera, for short video shootings and macro, nothing else. I was the first customer in Denmark to hold and test the Q3, but I wouldn't use it more often as I do my Q. The tilt screen is a big plus. Furthermore, I'll stick to my M240s because of the possibility to change lenses. Anyway, very stylish review of the Q3.
You are what's wrong with humanity.
The M240 is my last M body stop. I don't see benefits from the M10/M11 for my style of shooting.
these guys create the best vids
Happy to see this episode
Love the functionality of the extra features, but I can't help but feel it's lost the sleek, sexy, minimalist Leica design that it's in the Q1 and Q2.
It is a shame, especially given that the back side of the camera is the bit you'll see and feel more of when using the camera!
Looks like a nice camera, but i don't understand why you can digital crop in video with an upscale in resolution yet no interpolation and upscale jpg when shooting stills? Great to see you guys at work as always! 😊
Thank you for pointing out the button for the video camera. I thought I was crazy. So many times I thought I was recording what I never was.
Looking dapper!
Cool celebrity cameo street photo!
The Q3 hybrid AF has CDAF, DFD, and PDAF, and it is the borrowed-from-Panasonic DFD that gives it the lightning fast AF not the PDAF. PDAF is perhaps better at tracking and recognition. However CDAF is always used to finalise and lock focus because it is the most accurate (and as you noted, in low light). Hybrid because all three are integrated and work together.
I love my Q2, but she's heavy! I feel no need to upgrade, but loved this video non the less! 50MP is HUGE as it is already.
Q3 is heavier
Same here... and the Q2M
Solid metal cameras tend to be heavy.
Great vid reminds me of the old digital rev days
LOK I’m with you. I miss Aperture like crazy. So much promise.
Hey Kai, is there any improvement to the geotagging feature?
Why the hell did Leica not copy the X100V flippy screen and have it flush when closed ?
Terrible design choice! Would be better without the flippiness imo
Q4
@@Ben-vg1lw metoo
This is a more solid flippy screen than the one in the X100V and it copies the flippy from the XT-2, one of the best ever made screens of that type.
On thumb grips, I have XXL hands, I struggle to tuck my thumb down to the thumbrest on many cameras.
A thumb grip really helps
We really should have a review on those trousers.
Thanks Kai!
Hey! Great video! Can we have a video on other cheap cameras for this year?
For me, the 28mm is the dealbreaker. I comfortly see in 35mm, 28mm is only for some specific cases. But hey, at least you have AF and 35mm crop mode...
I wonder how zone focus performance is on the Q3. Q2 struggles there, from everything I've read- which makes the camera a no-go for many street shooters.
Kai, do you think a firmware update can improve close autofocusing for video on Q3?
great review. always entertaining. this year ill be buying the new fugi xs20! so looking forward to a review of that here.
Looking sharp!
Hope you and Lok team up again in your videos just like the good old days.
Wonderful video, Kai. 😍
But about the camera: when you punch into 50 mm it seems the Q3 basically gives you the same experience as a Panasonic GX9 with a 25 mm Sumilux and by the time you go for the 90 mm view it's way lower resolution than the GX9 with a Nocticron... (but I suppose that the wireless charging is still neat) 😉
Kai, you are growing into your Absent Minded Professor look very nicely.
Q3 can wait, but that tie is the top priority for me
What lavalier mic do you use for your Rode Wireless Go? It sounds amazing in that loud place. Cheers!
Great Video
Is it always ready for the Smartphone picture dump? Or how long does it take to pair the cam with the phone?
The internal mic is actually quite nice!
I have been following your presentations since your Hong Kong days, very much appreciate your efforts & knowledge, but, yes but, blue jacket, grey tie, red&white hanky? And did I detect JLC? 😂Just kidding dude spot on video thank you
Hi Can check if your camera shots the correct number shots as to the SD card you have? Currently using a Sony 128gb Tough V90 card. I believe i should have at least a 1400 shots based on one DNG 90mb but it is showing only 798 shots when i set to only L-DNG.
Nice little overview of the camera chaps. But let's all put a gofundme together for Lok, he's forever in that striped jumper lol ;)
I have had a the original Q since it came out and never had a problem or desire to change the grip. Not like the camera is heavy at all!
Are those photos unedited and shot on auto white balance? They look great.
Lok and Kai. Add Alamby and you have the full nostalgia team
Oww, Kai and Leica, did he say he's liking them more now he's older, gasp hahah. Truth is them images look crisp and sharp, especially that basket ball net and metal frame. I can't get excited usually about Leica or the ethos they drive, their adverts to street users are only just recently getting there. I hate to confess this review could easily sway me to buy one, its makes sense and looks brilliant to use, functional , practical and smart. I think I'd still use a X100T or x100F or Ricoh GR, or Epson RD-1 over the Leica. It's still a show off brand, but arguably perfect all round lifestyle camera. Great video reviews as always, God bless.
Ricoh had the guts and listened to Kai W and developed a 40mm point and shoot
I'm in the category. Just brought the q2 2months back.
Ive been pleased with the Q2 for the last 18mo, but will probably shift toward Q3 in coming years…probably just before a Q4!😂
Compliments to your hair styling, the morning after look 😂
Wow, can't wait for this.
you have no choice but to wait.
Stylish, classy, up-to-date and impeccably presented - your outfit is superb, Kai! Shame about that big, clunky camera you are stuck with though!
I love your videos like these. However one question, Alamby guest appearance when?
Watch most your reviews. Always good, thank you. I do lust after one of these Q3’s. But I don’t have limitless funds and I already have an A7rv with 20, 35, 55 and 85 (1.8) lenses. Anyone out there think a Q3 would be the perfect addition to what I have, or I am I chasing the Next New Shiny Thing? The form factor and style so appeals 😬
the suite, Kai is serious for leica
Kai do you have a list or a video of your wardrobe. Where did you get that jacket bro.
ordered....now let see how many months we wait.
❤❤❤️great content
nice to see you.
Hi Kai, i guess you’re not going to paint this one in pink…!!!
😂😂😂
Yeah, i’m watching your videos sincère this time !!! 😅😊
looks like and amazing toy! will it take place in professional market?
As Leica moved from Q2 to Q3, Kai just became a photography professor from Jcrew University! Reunion without Alamby isn't reunion. 😢
Where do you get your black jacket from? It’s nice
How does this camera compare to the Fuji X100vi please?
kai knows his cameras and clothes
You guys need to bring back Pro photographer cheap camera, and the other fun conceptual videos. I’d love to see the channel broaden the content types past just gear reviews!!
Honestly I think most Q3 buyers are going to buy a thumb grip and you can always wrap that neck strap around your wrist several times so that it goes nowhere. So weight & slipperiness are non issues. If you like that camera & can afford it, go get her!
This is a digi/rev throwback at 360p 😅
I know yt is still upresing the image
I'd be interested to see if the Rode VideoNTG usb-c mic would work with this, as it has a spliced-in headphone option. Let's see a head-to-head with the Sigma fp L using the Crop-Zoom feature -- maybe get Martin Parr or Lara Jade et al back again.
thatd be interesting since I use that mic too
Sorry, no one cares about the fp.
Does the Q have a real shutter? FP is great for video. The electronic shutter limits still photography.
@@emotivestories8340 Like the new Sony ZV-E1 it has no mechanical shutter, giving it greater longevity. ES definitely has limitations, and would rarely suit being the omly camera. Leica's are great - I have three, but Sigmas have better price to performance, better after-sales and QA. The fp-series is often compared with the Q and CL, and is frequently used with M-lenses. I realise that Leica and Sony have big Wall Street investors around to undermine independents like Sigma, so I find it's best to ignore sudden splashes of bad press.
What I think is best about every new Leica camera is that you can still take photos with it.This is not a given with expensive toys
Thanks....!! Kai W . ( you could paint it pink, like old times )
That JLC Reverso though…..
Love u both.....lorel and hardy
wish they would make a version with the smaller summicron 28mm, the current lens is actually pretty big.
