Came for a Q3 review. Got the entire history of Leica with context. Thank you Sir! :)
What an incredible documentary on the history of Leica! I just bought a new M11-P and a used 35mm 1.4 Summilux Thorsten, and your videos were instrumental in my journey towards joining the Leica family. In the past two days, the rangefinder has had me fall in love with photography all over again.
So, Leica is the Pringles of the camera world-you can’t have just one!
Great review Thorsten to a great camera that I’m not interested in owning, I enjoy your content.
Thank you for a wonderful insight to this great man’s life and how the first leica camera came about
Love my Q3, and the new friend Marco 😉
Yes, Macro is great when it is as easy as this :-)
I have been watching your Leica videos for about 3 years and you haven't yet convinced me to buy one. 🤣😝.
I would love to meet up with you if you come to San Francisco.
Great presentation. 👏👏👏
Thank you 🙂
I just came across your channel and your Q3 video was informative. I am wondering if you will be doing a video comparison between the Q3 and the new Q3 43? Which do you recommend for someone who is just now wanting to jump into the photography world? Thank you
@@cameronemery7553 yes, I am
Putting up a comparison talk in a few weeks.
this was a fantastic video - thank so much for sharing.
I would LOVE it Q3 -43 for MAcro and Leaf Shutter lens feature for shooting flowers with a Flash.
I like your video, informative. I just bought my Leica Q3
Congratulations with he Q3. And thank you for commenting
I like your way of reviewing (Leica) cameras. To understand something you need to know its history.
EDIT: I didn’t know the Q was a countryman’s work. Cool!
I agree. The history of something is incredible important to understand why it is and where it is going.
Endlich, Ich kauftete ein 43. And now I must wait for it to be made and shipped from B&H. I like the APO images. It seems almost a small X2D + XCD55V. Re-watching your video was quite helpful. Tak.
Thank you. A comparison and review of the Leica Q3 43 is coming as well 🙂
Great video. Many thanks 🙏
Thank you for the video!
Welcome 🙂
As an aside, the perforation pattern that the moving picture industry was settling on at the time was designed by Thomas Edison. There were others, but his was being adopted as standard. So, with Edisons perforations and Barnacks doubling of the frame area, we have the 35mm film of today.
Nice video, thank you. 😊 🤝
Thank you 🙂
I pre-ordered your e-book 'Artist Guide to the Galaxy' and was curious when it will be released? Not impatient but just excited to read your newest e-book.
It is being written. I often end up writing longer and more than originally planned. So hopefully you will love it ❤
@@MagicOfLight_ThorstenOvergaard I look forward to it! I have bought 4 of your book already and excited to read this one!
Scanning film to get the best of both worlds, the retro “film look” instead of the brittle digital look, especially apparent in large prints…M4-P.
Mr. Overgaard, I see Leica is now producing a Q3 43 with a 43mm lens. I am very interested in your opinion on how it compares with the Q3 with the 28mm lens? I am saving for a Q3 and was wondering which one would be better for me. Perhaps you can do a comparison video sometime in the future. My preference is 50mm, but I understand since the Q3 has such great resolution, there is little noticeable difference if I crop the 28mm image closer to 50mm. Thanks, Adam
It has been recorded and will be coming soon 🙂
Thank you sir. I very much enjoy your videos.
do a video of how have you set up Exposure metering for the Q system
It's in the video masterclass www.overgaard.dk/Thorsten-von-Overgaard-Gallery-Store-The-Leica-Q3-Know-All-eBook-The-Art-of-Loving-the-Leica-Q3-Monochrom.html but also on the Leica Q3 Menu setup here: www.overgaard.dk/Leica-Q3-digital-rangefinder-camera-the-perfect-menu.html
Good evening, this is a wonderful story, full of humanism.
Thank you 🙂
Hello, I can't seem to download the Capture One Presets. Is there something wrong with the web
page?
Should work. Try again.
My understanding is the original Q is not weather sealed. Don’t know how much that is an issue? Also, Q3 can be charged via USB chord which is convenient over Q and Q2.
The original Q was ok weather sealed. In fact, I never had an issue with any Leica and weather, and I never spared them for any action in rain or snow (or sand). Much of the weather sealing is on paper, meaning that they can fundamentally stand anything, but a manufacturer can't write or say that.
great video !
Thank you 🙂
Very disappointed the Q3 course I bought back in February has not been fully delivered. Of the promised 7 video tutorials only the first overview video has been delivered. This is over 5 months after purchase. I hope it’s delivered soon.
Most of it is there now if you log in. Still five videos being finished
People who pay for courses on how to use a camera deserve to be screwed over.
Any rumors about Q3M?
Q3 is a great camera. I came from the Q-P, Q2 did not have enough advantages for me to upgrade but the Q3 has all the needed goodies like better AF
The 24 MP of the Q was enough for me though but the Q3 at 36 is great(and gives you an extra stop of DR.
Love the Macro combi Leaf Shutter lens feature for e.g. shooting flowers and mushrooms close by.
I would LOVE it, if they would build a Q3 with a 50mm Summi, that would also sell like hot cakes.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Happy shooting !
One day, we may see a 50mm. Good point on the extra DR with downsizing
I would LOVE it Q3 -43 for Macro and Leaf Shutter lens for shooting flowers in Macro with a Flash.
@@ecawwgroup got mine the first day it was available 🤗
Leica Q3 is the gateway drug to Leica M...BTW I speak German so I know what "Üngefahr" means but others might not :)
Every Leica is a gateway to another Leica ;)
You need to smile 😂
This is as smiley as it gets 😂
Weimar was a sad time for Germany. Workers paid at lunch and when they went home after work. We had bills printed 10 million marks and overprinted 100 million marks usw. Postwar Allied WW I reparations were insane and the foundation of WW II. Remarque's The Black Obelisk spells it out for those who want an easy to read catch up on the subject.
Barnack built the 35mm film camera prototype and showed the way forward. Bauhaus and good engineering. Would others have done it? Perhaps. But Barnack did and so it is. And as much as I get my feathers ruffled by Leitz "Wir sind besser als Dich" I still shoot with three old M bodies because they work. The M8 and M9 color is Kodochrome, the M240 Agfachrome. The Pixii A2572 is competitive and the X2D outshines the Wizards of Wetzlar. But for a "you know it will work" camera these M bodies and their close relatives are go to's.
Thorsten, thank you again, tak, for a well done, well presented, thoughtful and knowledgeable presentation.
Thank you for watching and pointing this out 🙂
