I think Heathrow should keep one 747 next to the Concorde for the memories.
Ali Imz space is a premium at Heathrow.
Ian McGreevy nothing is more premium then an 747. 😂
I agree
how about g bnly
And manchester aswell
In a way it was quite fitting to see the old girl just disappearing into the mists of time!
Almost like England was sad to see her go. What an incredible airplane.
I use to be crew with BA on these 2 very JUMBOS for 27 years. Saying farewell has made me cry!
Sonya Smith- Hughes , been interested in planes all my life but never flown on a 747 , can understand your emotion , but as they say ‘ don’t cry cause it’s over , smile cause it happened ‘ , no one can take your memories eh !
@@swanwickmil THANK YOU, YOU ARE SO RIGHT!
Me also......loved working upper deck.....
@@stephenbland7461 Are you still there Stephen with BA?
I retired about 3 years ago. Happy memories but it’s different times these days so no regrets even though both Walsh and Cruz have gone now as well, and not before time. They both have ruined a once great airline.

The best airplane in the world!! The iconic Boeing 747! I love Boeing airplanes. The best made planes ever!
Never thought I'd be sad to see an aeroplane retire 😢
I remember The old British Airways in 1977 . I was little kid when i went on the old one
Farewell BA 747s thanks for all the happy memories
Hi Guys, thanks a lot for this from an ex BA crewmember who flew on these aircraft for many years.
I was down at the other end and got some distant shots with tears in my eyes.
Our queen ends her reign 👑 ✈️
1:03:52 - Flew to Barbados and back on these in 2019. Farewell 747, its been emotional 😢👏
Loved flying on the 400 from DTW to LHR - BA was generous to travel agents that produced - i got to fly on all cabin on the 400 , of course F was flawless with 7 course meal.
And R class was thrilling to just over way to fast at 3 hr 15 min JFK-LHR
Both missed and should be both on display nr Concorde - loved them both so it’s hard to say what was my fav - R was compact slim jet - deadly fast , 400 was great also just
8 hours from DTW with a quick stop at YMX …
❤ B747 ❤
A fond farewell to BA "Queen of the Skies" flew US and South Africa on her with pride and great memories. 👍✈️🇬🇧♥️
Thanks Big Jet TV. So well filmed 👏
So sad 😢
stunning BA 350k take off... what a beauty
The 747 is a Boeing masterpiece. Architectural Digest calls the 747 " the pinnacle of commercial aviation" - and so she is.
Well that was bloody emotional 😭 thank you 🙏
What a amazing airplane ✈️👍
Water salute for the last British Airways 747
Thankyou Bjtv great footage, farewell Ba747 😢
even the skies have been sad to see her go :(
Thank you Jerry and Gilly, I have read that Negus may be saved she could become a permanent display at Kemble. Fingers crossed that it happens.
Amazing to see you on BBC London Jerry, couldn't think of a better person to comment on the BA 747 farewell
We will miss you 747 400
ba 747 what a plane , had the pleasure of using this jumbo jet three different times , one time it was Nairobi Kenyatta airport, the second time was Miami and the third time Arizona . great memories.
Goodbye old friend. RIP BA 747😢😢
Myself Kathy. Collis and Hershey have shed a few tears and waved a last goodbyeGod Bless myfriends
I made a highlight take off video! thanks to BIG JETS TV! they are doing an amazing job by recording this historic moment! hats off to you!
😢 😢Has a child i was very luck to fly first-class from Jamaica to LHR .Was in love after that😢😢😢
Was lucky enough to fly many times on the BA 747 to Hong Kong. Will always be a good memory.
Going to miss the 747s YVR to LHR about once a year since around 1990
For the poll i’d go with the Landor livery, it was around when i was traveling back and forth to the UK, miss it so much. Never got to fly on a B747 so it was sad to see these two go 😢
Half a year, insane. I was crying when I first watched it and I am crying rewatching it now...
I saw both the BOAC and Negus 747s (parked of course) as we taxied for take-off last year on our way home from our trip to the UK. Was glad to have seen them!
Looks like the Renaissance car park.
We enjoyed 4 or 5 trips from ORD-LHR on these brilliant (BA) 'Queens of the sky' years back. Was lucky to fly one leg in the bubble, which for us was a real treat. I feel for all in the aviation industry whose hearts are heavy saying goodbye to these 2 today.
Great film lovely airplaine going to miss them all god bless
Wow beautiful channel and most beautiful channel and big jet tv live chat london airport
I am very sad to see my top favourite British Airways Aircrafts leaving for the last time I am fighting back the tears I flew on both to and from Orlando and New York Rest In Peace my special 2
last weekend met a top engineer on the 747 he is now 91 years old and still with it what a star.
Another fantastic show made better as usual by our hosts Jerry and Gilly. See you this afternoon.
Farewell queen of the skies. Love the RB211 spool up as well!
Thank you Jerry for this video. Unfortunately, I did not see it live on TV or on your UA-cam channel.
I had an Aunt who was a Cabin Crew member with British Airways back in the 1980's (I'm in my 40's now) and on her days off, she would take me with her to Heathrow and would spend a few hours watching planes together and my aunt would point out to me different aircraft types and airlines and on any further visits, would see if I remembered any, which I did.
I can remember seeing all of BA's aircraft (including Concorde) when they carried the Landor livery.
As my aunt lived in nearby Slough, I can remember hearing the distinctive sound of the Boeing 747 flying overhead especially in the morning.
It is because of my aunt that I have an interest in all things aviation.
Farewell to British Airways' Queen Of The Skies and thank you for the memories even though I have never had the opportunity to fly on one :(
Heathrow will never be the same without the presence of BA's 747s.
BA's Queen Of The Skies reign may have ended, but will live on in our memories (and on UA-cam videos).
Heartfelt.
Sad day heard pilot say thanks tower great moment for me
So sad to see these amazing aircraft being retired
Flew on these many times to both New Zealand and the USA. Amazing aircraft. Such a sad day
She flies away... 😪😥 Farewell
I’m 21 but never got to fly on the Queen of the Skies, should’ve flown on her on my way back from JFK to LHR this August but obviously due to Covid couldn’t carry out my trip and I was devastated to hear the news that BA were retiring her early
The Queen of the Skies will never be forgotten
I was convinced this was Jürgen Klopp until he spoke.
Jerry get's that quite a lot and as a big Liverpool fan myself it makes me chuckle!
BIG JET TV who do you think will win
Everton vs Liverpool
@@BigJetTV happy
Beautiful but sad day.. Watching from Port Elizabeth South Africa..
So glad you didn't talk during the take offs man brilliant work. Like all the commentary usually too was happy to hear them engines roar. Nice work!
A sad day indeed. How appropriate that the sky was crying.......
Will miss seeing the BA 747's on the ramp at Pearson!
Thank you very much indeed! An emotional event to see these two superb sister aircraft (one of which was only recently retro-repainted) off to a demise? I'll miss the validated safety and faster cruise speed of the four RB-211 engined 747, of both QANTAS and BA fleets... dismissed not for age, or safety reasons, but for fuel economy. Seeing that beautiful A350-1000 departing one wouldn't even notice it had trailing edge flaps extended. I'll miss seeing the 744s enormous, complex, triple-slotted flaps and its unusual combo of leading edge devices... not to mention its grace in all flight phases and that great hump :-)
The the BA 747 has been such an iconic aeroplane, engineering at it's best.. the pilot's enjoyed flying this aircraft. It's a real shame they have been retired, one for the aviation history books.
The speedbird under the cockpit window reminds me of a departing tear.
Good afternoon big jet
Love watching big jet tv, hi Jerry from st. Thomas ont Canada
Love this channel ! Hello everyone
thanks!!!!!
So sad with the BA 747 era coming to an end. They were in service for a few years before I became a plane spotter. When I lived near Gatwick I used to enjoy seeing Big Orange come over our farm during the times of Comets, 111's, HPR7, Caravelle, DC8s etc. I don't do so much now, but I often tune in to Big Jet TV and spend a while on FlightRadar.
Farewell Queen, very sad day, leaving in all her beauty and glory!
Glad to see better skies at Kemble for the landing
Morning Jerry I was in one of those to the middle east way back in the late eighties😢
London Heathrow Airport. Oh thou London, I will always miss you! I miss the comedy on TV, I miss the debates, especially the PM's question time, at the House of Commons, top of the pops every Thursday on BBC TV, and the list is long!
good morning from Vancouver
Thank you for saving this event for posterity, a sad day indeed.
R.I.P Boeing 747 1969-2020
Well said about the British made A350 wings. You could have added the British made Rolls Royce engines.
Hi Chris I’m good pal 😊❤
GoodBye Birtsh Airways Boeing 747
Wow.
The weather seemed to match the mood. Very drab and a sad sad day. At least BA came to their senses and did something for their 747s, but, not so good as Virgin. Thanks Jerry and Gilly for your great coverage.
Goodbye old girl.. loved flying you.
Great channel
Never flew BA 747 but did on Qantas and Singapore you always had the feeling of being on something special, you don’t have the same feeling on the 380
Sad day love the 747s
A sad day but that Negus 747 is now preserved and used as a party venue.
Never got to fly in the Queen of the Skies unfortunately. My daughter was Lucky enough to fly Virgin to Jamaica last year. I'm so pissed off. She will always be the Best Passenger Plane ever Made. 💯
Managing these for IAG was always a pain when compared to modern 777s. But god they look beautiful taking off
Sad to see such a beautiful jet fly off to retirement. I felt the same way when Air New Zealand got rid of their -400s and also the 737-300 planes. I had never been on the 747-400 but flew domestic on Air New Zealand's 737-200 as a child and later on the 737-300 sadly now replaced by Airbus A320s(sigh).
STAND STILL FELLA!
Who is cutting onions here?! 🥺😢
747 👍
Where does he stand to get such a good view of 27r???
BA took delivery this week of two new 777
A very sad sight, the BA Queen of the skies gone forever, very sad day for all 747 fans
hope most will be used as cargo next life , they been well maintianed
Last Rolls-Royce 747-400😥
Don't worry, Cargolux, SkyGates and SilkWay West still have some!
They will be on another airline somewhere im sure
Au revoir old friend
Rolls Royce have bought an ex-Qantas 747-400 and are converting it into a flying testbed for future engine testing
@@sharpley753 Ah yes, I forgot about that one! Previously VH-OJU!
They should put the corncorde next to the 747
best to ask first - mind if i use your video of the queens for some editing practice in adobe 2020 and vegas 18 please
Thanks for asking David! Yes you can. if you publish anything just remember to give credit to Big Jet TV :)
@@BigJetTV sure no worries. i am just practicing split screen software for my music videos etc. pretty simple thing but i will show you first if i plan to upload anything.
♥
I cant see this. It breaks my heart.
Sad to see them disappear into the fog, the weather over there was terrible for the occasion but quite fitting for the sadness of it. Did they do any special 'drawing' in the sky like we did when the last Qantas left Sydney?
Went for covid test other day saw them parked up by hangers Mrs couldn't understand why I got a lil emotional.
240,000lbs of thrust on take off. Never to be seen again with BA at LHR.
Jerry ‘the’ Dyer on BBC London 😂
