We used to live in Crawley. So many times we seen the Pretty Lady coming in through the fog for landing at Gatwick. It was our favourite night ride, plane spotting under the flight path. Such a magical experience. We will miss here dearly.
A touching tribute to a craft that has moved more people than anyone could have imagined. A very special lady and a very poignant goodbye from the VIrgin staff, and i think maybe Jerry too. A very special show, and a touching one, with some fascinating new knowledge too. Great show.
There is something about that aircraft that transcends thru and brings forth all the elements of life and science, love and pain and joy and flies away into the sunset leaving a sweet remembrance in our hearts.
How lovely
How appropriate was that wing wave into the clouds. Fantastic coverage Jerry, on all the departures. The Virgin 747’s will be sadly missed.
It brought a tear to my eye...
Very symbolic image but sad there were grey clouds because it meant she disappeared from view quickly when we would of loved to have seen her just a bit longer
I’m not crying, my eyes are just sweating.
I flew the wonderful pretty woman to Orlando, I miss the virgin 747s immensely
Those aren't tears in my eyes, the music and editing makes me fell like I lost my best friend. As a kid I would dream of flying on a 747. I was fortunate enough to be able to many times. It was such a beautiful plane. It would gracefully make turns as if it was a small jet. As an American, I'm very thankful that although these beautiful planes fly into retirement, that the new American President will be flying on the last of the new generation 747-800's. So we will still be able to see them fly. To all the Captains and crew who took care of us plane enthusiast, well done.
She left London in such a admirably and stoic way,, l do hope the Americans appreciate England's last Passenger Lady 747
You guys at JET ✈️ TV are absolutely fantastic. I love this show on here. Thank you and to VIrgin Atlantic for allowing the TV cameras into offices pilots briefing. Keep up the work. All the best from Dan Newitt. I love the 747. I fly in flight simulator too since 2000 😁
Those wing waves get me every time. 😢
MY HOME COUNTRY
I was very fortunate to fly on every Virgin 747. Going to miss them !! 😪😪😪😪😪
Superb job BJTV, and thanks to Virgin for showing how a retirement should be done! Virgin you should be the the British Flag carrier, not that other lot.
Am so sad to see this plane go :(, I remember as a child I took this plane from London Gatwick to it was either monetego bay Jamaica or Kingston not sure, but I remember taking this plane always to my home country, RIP virgin 747, you will be remembered
Got emotional watching the end because I’ve been on them so many times them memories going to Orlando amazing aircraft 747
From young man to near pensionable age the 747 has flown me all over the world. What a graceful bird.
Brilliant job, well done mate, brought a tear to a redundant dispatcher who has cried many a time over a piece of metal haha
Man can create wonderful things some times, she was a beauty bye bye pretty woman, sad watching it again now, sniff sniff
What a sad day to see the last Boeing 747 leave the Virgin fleet. An iconic aircraft that was the trademark of an iconic company Virgin Atlantic. During my time at Virgin Atlantic Engineering (April '89 to March '20) I worked on all the Virgin 747's right from the first G-VIRG Maiden Voyager to the last G-VROC Mustang Sally. I first saw G-VROY Pretty Woman when she was just a set of parts awaiting final assembly in the Boeing plant at Everett WA, and now sadly, she's left the fleet. Thanks for the video, brought a tear to the eye of an ex VAA engineer while watching her disappear into the sky with a wave of her wings!
Wow, what an amazing story, thanks for sharing that with us.
A special privilege from Virgin Corp to allow this to be documented by BJTV. Well done Jerry and Gilly to score this coup for us aviation heads! A special treat. Nervous energy was building up towards the end in office. Brilliant insight.
She’ll always be the queen of the sky’s !!!!!!!!! Thank you BOEING!!!!! Thank you Joe Sutter !!!!!!! Thank you, for the team of incredibles!!!!!!!!!!!!
Flown on Pretty woman a long time ago from my home in Miami to Heathrow. Excellent recording Mr.. well done

Virgin did you proud Jerry and Gilly, access beyond anything I ever thought possible today you have documented the loss of the greatest aircraft of our times. Thank you Big Jet TV for letting us all see this historical moment in a true Big Jet TV way. The end of an era. Thanks for filming a moment we will all go back again to watch.
Wow what a tear jerker when Zane shut the door. Fantastic coverage of a historic event and an end of an era. Well done Jerry, Gilly and all the Virgin Atlantic crew.

Lawrence v. Didn't realise the Lockerbie conection. I have lost sight of vroy over N. Canada
Excellent show from BJTV & Virgin Atlantic. Thank you so much to all involved. Rather poignant that she (747) is flying over Lockerbie on the 21st of December.

Godspeed Virgin 747
Great show - thanks for covering it, and to Virgin Atlantic for giving you such great access!
The name Hickinbottom are you ex Monarch or Lufthansa at HBG ,only the name seems familiar could be anywhere from cargolux 1990 DHL MUC 92 Or even TLS 95 ??
Nope - i've got nothing to do with the aviation industry at all im afraid
Sorry Andrew Hickinbottom just Andrew first and then your surname l AM probably thinking too much in my past. Once again l apologise.
@@martincawley4031 Its ok - no need to apologise :-)
@@andrewhickinbottom1051 Apologies Andrew l began my aviation career in 1980 apprenticed to Monarch l did a ad hoc job in Shannon August 1988 with Aeroflot back to Luton with Monarch and when my ties ended l worked for Eastern at MIA in 1990 and then on to this that and the other, you understand in life you come across all types of recognizable names l trust. Only now l AM in West Cornwall with my nagging wife and kids and my dear friend my staffie 'Skooby ',

Remember years ago going down to Ozzy via Singapore to see my brother. I faked a limp up to the boarding gate and was met by a lovely lass who was also Concorde check in. She took pity on me and bumped me up on the Qantas Longreach to BC, I got a taste for it after that! Wonderful aircraft the 747 she will be sorely missed across all carriers.

Super job! Great footage with many interesting interviews!
Went to Vegas on one once, loved flying over Greenland.
Hi
Absolutely fantastic footage Jerry! Great crew, Captain Zane is a really nice guy 👍
Was a passenger many time on her mostly to America on Holiday, Great Aircraft.
I used to work her at LAS a few years ago. Sad to see her go.
Went to ca on one of those great plane comfy ride
We didn't catch this live unfortunately. What a privilege for you .We have flown on Pretty Woman many times. Were the itv crew making a documentary.?
My First ever flight on a 747 was with Virgin Atlantic all those years ago. 3 years ago I flew on
a VA flight to Las Vegas but I'm not sure if it was this very aircraft. My teenage daughter,
although not into aviation, still raves about those two flights on a Virgin Atlantic 747 - the best airline
EVER she always says. Wonderful aircraft. Sad to see them retire carrying passengers.
My first ever time on a plane was with Pretty Woman, Manchester - Orlando, I'll never forget it
lol Zane with the Biget stickers
How to make a grown man cry
Great footage this 😊
Hi Chris I’m good 😊
Three captains, wow.
