    Uber is basically sales. People knock it, but $20 an hour guaranteed is a good deal.

      Especially when you can spend several hours in a row giving no rides and incurring no expenses, like RideShare Genius did in Santa Barbara!

    Since you had your name on the video, I Googled and found an article about the class-action suit in which you objected to the lawyer settling instead of going to trial with the lawsuit. "A quarter of the settlement ($100M) could be swallowed up by legal fees." So the lawyer got rich by selling you guys out - that should be illegal cause she failed to represent the drivers and gave Uber a huge victory.

      Sorry for not replying sooner! The case is still going on. The settlement was rejected by the court for being unfair to drivers. We'll see what happens! :)

    If you sleep in your car all day at work all day it doesn't make sense to pay rent for a place you don't even live at or stay at you mind just be better off living in your car.

    I referred a driver who is homeless and sleeps in his car. Drives every now and then when he needs money!

      It's sad that folks are earning so little that it's come to this...

    Great channel. Does your acceptance rate affect your trip requests somehow ?

    • @RideshareGenius
      @RideshareGenius  7 років тому +2

      Every app treats acceptance rate a little differently. With Uber, there is no minimum acceptance rate required in order to stay on the platform. Please note that cancellation rate is a separate metric and having a high cancellation rate can get you deactivated. Uber may put you in "time out" for a few minutes after a certain number of ignored requests and a certain acceptance rate may be required for certain Uber hourly / other incentives. But your acceptance rate shouldn't affect which requests you get. As long as you're online, the closest available driver at the time of the request should get the request first. I hope this answers your question! Thanks for watching and commenting!! :)

      Rideshare Genius man thanks for the very detailed answer!!!!! It's so hard here in Greensboro NC. We don't have any boost rates or guarantees

    • @RideshareGenius
      @RideshareGenius  7 років тому

      Think about it this way - boost is really just telling me where and when the highest demand is but it's still up to me to go out there and find a ride. Without boost, there would be surge instead. So since your Greensboro doesn't have boost, have you noticed any times when there is consistently surge? Here in LA we have waves of surge throughout commuting times in the morning and evening, bar-closing time, weekends and event-related surge. Being able to focus my efforts on the right times and areas helps to maximize earnings! :)

      That's good info ! I'll try to find out when is the best times. I can tell you though assuming the per mile rate is the same there as it is here without boost or surge I did a trip that was 90 miles and I got paid 50 bucks for it

    Have you ever slept in your car while driving for Uber or another app??

    • @JeffBrown518
      @JeffBrown518 7 років тому +1

      If I need a nap, I head to the airport queue lot and get 45-60 minute nap waiting for a ping. My experience is also that sleeping overnight in a car results in VERY poor quality sleep. I've done it a few times (not while driving Uber), and I wake up every 30 minutes or so.

    I pay about 1000 a month to Uber. So ya, don't really have a choice.

      Don't have a choice in regards to what, Drake? Thanks for watching!!

    • @drakenelsoncomedy

      My choice to pay Uber 1000 a month means, yes I sleep in my car.

    • @RideshareGenius
      @RideshareGenius  7 років тому

      I'm so sorry you have to go through that. I wish that drivers were paid more fairly based on the fact that we incur so many expenses and investments. It makes me sad to hear this, but trust that I will do everything I can to help drivers like yourself earn more so life can be better. Please let me know if there's anything I can help with or any guidance I can provide. There might be other or better opportunities out there for you

    • @drakenelsoncomedy
      @drakenelsoncomedy 7 років тому +2

      Thank you. But you don't have to be sorry for me. It's mostly my choice. I moved to LA to further my career in Stand up comedy. More money would be nice, but shoot I didn't move to LA to be comfortable. I moved to LA to be a comedian. If it was easy, everyone would do it.

    • @RideshareGenius
      @RideshareGenius  7 років тому

      I hope everything goes well with your comedy career! LA housing is so expensive that I have definitely thought about what it would be like to live out of my car, but I don't know if I'll ever try it. If you are ever frustrated with Uber, I'd encourage you to check out some other apps as well like Lyft, DoorDash, Postmates and Caviar. I find the delivery work to be more flexible, lower stress and I usually earn more than I do with Uber
