Great review! I still remember how excited I was 3 years ago when Ford revealed that they're releasing a brand new hybrid vehicle for 20k! Cheaper than a Corolla! Then I found out that you have to wait for years to get your order fulfilled or pay several thousand dollars in dealer markup. No thanks!
You can restart the infotainment system. Instead of whining about it, RTM. They put them in cars for a reason. Then there’s Google. I guess you can’t be bothered with that. Yes, you need to have the car on to release the electronic parking brake under typical operating conditions. Welcome to 2024. That is common with all cars with electronic parking brakes. No need to be extra about it. The key won’t break. You’re special. Maybe your mother should’ve bought a vehicle with options so you can stop complaining. You seem to complain about the sun rising in the morning. Maybe it’s you who has the problem. I wondered who bought a mirage. Now I know. Had to leave early because I couldn’t listen anymore.
True, I didn't look up how to reset it, I was driving across the country and didn't remember to read it. The screen kept fixing it's self, it just took a long time. I restarted the truck several times, that doesn't fix it. But after 8 hours it just randomly started working. I'm not saying the key will break, it's just alarming how it's loose it feels. It may be fine, it may not be. I don't know. It just doesn't feel strong. The parking break thing is fine, it's just annoying because I can have the truck in drive, and the break won't turn off. Need to sit there for a while. I know it's normal, just annoying. The door panels are very rough, like sand paper. On a huge trip it tore the skin off my elbow. To add to that, the blower motor isn't working properly, the transmission is leaking oil, door seals aren't installed right, it just isn't that good. I'd expect better for a new car. I'm not saying it's a bad truck, it's just things I dislike about it. I want to like it, just several things I dislike about it. The truck is more luxury than my car, that can be a very good thing depending what you want. The truck gets amazing MPG. The truck is great down hills. The truck has plenty of power, you don't hear the engine. The truck has good seats. It's just the quality of it, and the door panels, and the screen not working, and parking break not turning off some times, that bugs me a lot. As well as all the messages on the gage cluster when you start the truck.
Yes, and no. I do like it tilted up a bit, but not far. In my Mitsubishi Mirage, which is slightly tilted up, it has never been a problem at all with glare. So a little tilt wouldn't hurt.
Lots have said it's invalid.. But the leaking transmission, door seals falling off, AC fan not working properly, screen lagging, crashing, and getting very hot, parking brake being stuck on, driver side window getting stuck and squeaking, plus now the tire sensor monitor is broken.. I don't see how my review is invalid. This is my experience with it. It's $7,000 more than my car, and isn't $7,000 more large. And definitely not more quality.
Good review lock. I've had a number of pickup trucks and cargo vans. Pickup trucks are about the most useless vehicle I've ever had and cargo vans the most useful. Whether from a security perspective or the weather, you can't store anything in the back of a pickup. Can't understand why people buy pickup trucks. Leaking transmission fluid already. This one seems like a piece of junk.
I think it's transmission fluid. I can't tell though because there is no dipstick for the transmission. It is supposedly sealed which is really just a way to have the truck break so you buy another one I really don't understand why people buy Dooley's and F-150s and lifted trucks just to daily drive them. Then when they actually need a truck to go and rent one. I find my car which is a Mitsubishi Mirage to be more practical. Only a few situations I find it would be good to have a truck. I got a swamp cooler a while ago and it barely fit in the car. But I still got the swamp cooler home. Probably one of the most practical cars you can get is one of those k cars. Like the small cargo vans. The ones where the crimple zone is your legs. But they are tiny slow that have air conditioning and can hold a huge amount of stuff.
I also don't understand suvs. They don't usually have that much more room than something like a station wagon or a sedan. They use a lot of fuel. Or at least most of them do. And they also usually sit up higher and they roll over easier. And to add to that they are more dangerous for people on bikes or walking that you might run into. Can do just as much with a Subaru Impreza which is a station wagon then you can in a Cadillac Escalade or something. Except the Subaru is cheaper and uses less fuel and it's safer for everyone around.
@@slumy8195 Even towing wise, the cheaper cars can tow a lot. Like, again, the Impreza, it tows 2,500 pounds. That's enough to tow a tiny camper, or a boat. The Mirage can't tow as much, only around 400 LB. But overall, even a truck for towing isn't really needed. A van can tow just about as much as your average pickup truck as well.
@@extralock1045 I don't see anything about towing for the Impreza on Subaru's website. But even the base model Outback is rated to tow 2700 pounds. Not bad for under $30k. They say 5000 pounds for other than the base model Ascent but now you're getting up nearer $40K. For some reason base model Ascent is only rated for 2000 pounds.
Lol you're expecting a little too much for a cheap truck. Trucks can up to $100,000 and you have a Ford Maverick XL. If you're looking for a good quality vehicle, Maverick is not it LOL
I'm not looking for good quality. I'm just expecting more out of it. I daily drive a Mitsubishi mirage. It is literally the cheapest and most basic car you can possibly get in the country. And it has more features and has things done better than the maverick.
For context the Mitsubishi Mirage has electronic mirrors, software that works better and not glitchy and slow, better backup camera, and things are not falling apart.
I'm not saying I expect tons of the base model of the truck. But the Mitsubishi is $6,000 cheaper or more and it has at least the basics. And the Mitsubishi in comparing it to is also the base model.
mad disappointment, the style is great aswell the mpg. You guys are not the only ones dealing with these issues. Alot of yt'ers are posting how theirs flopped from electronics to transmissions. Your mitsubishi 3cylinder has been fine for years, even overseas cheap vehicles are better than a "top american brand", tells us how bad planned obsolescence is in american products. Dont get a gm or chevrolet product either huge POS's cam lifters dropping at under 15k miles on average for 2024 models thanks to active fuel management deactivating the cylinders which is a stupid design made to fail. Edit: check out the cali lemon law. If the vehicle is going to continue being problematic just file for this and force ford into a buyback. Cant imagine the problems 5 yrs down the road.
I might need to do the lemon law thing. Hopefully not. Right off the bat I don't like the Maverick, simply because it's a pickup truck. But I can still review the comfort, and the reliability.. The seats are nice, door panels are super bad for your elbow. (: What is your favorite over seas car?
@@slumy8195 you can make the CVT in the Mitsubishi Mirage and Nissan Versa last a very long time if you change the transmission oil and filters on time. Do not go more than 30,000 miles between transmission oil changes and make sure to change the filter inside the pan and clean the magnets. And also change the cartridge filter which is behind the driver tires. Lots of people don't know about that filter.
It's a car, pretending to be a truck, so it's OK to call it a car! Unibody car/truck thing, not a bad concept, that's why car manufactures are all making one now.
What am I whining about? The issues it has had so far is quite long. Those are genuine problems. The screen sucks on it, and the door panel mold is very rough and tears the skin off my elbow on long drives. I'm giving my experience driving it 7,000 miles.
This is my personal review, not the experience from others. The MPG the truck gets is amazing, so there is that. The seats are good. But I'm not going to lie and say the truck is perfect, when to me, it's not.
In this review I might have came across wrong, and I'm not sure why. Usually my reviews/videos are pretty liked. But this video I have the most dislikes I ever got, 36 likes, 21 dislikes. If you know what I did wrong, please let me know. Thanks!
My 2024 Maverick eco boost is great. I like it the power is great it’s AWD and I have the XL it was $24,674 out the door. I got a great deal.
Awesome!!

My dad waited about 1 year, not good. I think you should go for a Corolla, I mean, we waited a year, and they didn't even build the thing right! LOL.

Say hi to my brother in Clearwater! 😊And be safe driving back.
I would but don't know how to contact him. (:
I do have the 2024 and the radio screen gets incredibly too hot and going to let the dealer know.
Good idea!

what the hell the cybertruck was so random 🤣
It's perfect timing! I think it's one of my neighbors. I've seen it go up and down the street one other time recently.
That's hilarious about the manual mirrors, which is from dinosaur days when I learned to drive. 😆

Weird

First thing's first.... Not a truck... it's a car/crossover with a bed.
To me, anything with a bed is a truck, even a Subaru Brat. Is it a true "truck"? Nope. But it is to me. ;p
Wow! The timing on that cybertruck! 😆
Yes!!
i will keep my 2003 ranger thank you very much :)
I think your choice is good, as long as gas mileage doesn't bother you. (:
I'll keep my 2024 Mitsubishi Mirage as well over the Ford Maverick.
Production value just went up 500%
What do you mean? I'm confused.
