- Starting a Family in New York City is crazy, especially without having a car or an actual house. I didnt grow up here, and learning what its like to have a family here is definitely a challenging experience each and every day, from the small apartment, to the lack of a backyard, to the smells of the subway we use to get places as its the most affordable option. Check out todays nyc vlog and tell me what you think of having a new york city family and living in new york city with a familiy. Definitly it is not for everyone that is for sure but perhaps this nyc vlog helps clear up what its like!

I, too, find myself living vicariously through this channel even though I'll probably never live in NYC.
Me neither; however, our 14-year-old daughter fell in love with NYC on a trip there in 2019, so living there is her goal. Therefore, I watch. Glad I found Cash Jordan--LOTS of good info!!

I remember being a kid & fighting it sooooo hard! I didn’t want to miss anything.
They do in cars. You must not have a car or a kid. There's hardly a parent who has never at one time or another plunked the kid in the car then just randomly
driven to quiet the kid down and put them to sleep. There's nothing like a midnight drive to nowhere.

It’s so refreshing to see parents with old fashion values regarding parenting. Putting a kid down for a nap is essential. Too many parents drag their tired kids around from store to store, place to place and wonder why the kid is screaming or misbehaving. Wishing you the best in raising Violet and anymore potential children.
I’ve been going to NYC since 1999, when my then fiancé and I went to visit her sister in Med school. Since then, I’ve visited at least 25-30 times, got married, had two sons (now 12 and 17), and sadly, lost my wife to cancer, after a 3 month stay at Sloan-Kettering on the upper east side.
We haven’t been back since December, 2019 (pandemic limited), but hope to visit soon. From the early days of staying with friends in a five story walk up (with stroller!), to staying with friends in beautiful and diverse Forest Hills, Queens, we always find something new to do and experience.
As a South Florida resident and teacher, I often tell my students to encourage their parents to go to NYC instead of Orlando. Plane tickets are relatively cheap, and the experience is a lot more authentic. I’ve been able to convince a few, and they love me for it.

There is nothing like seeing a daddy with his little girl. Brought me to tears because I was daddy's little girl many, many years ago. Give her as many memories as she can have. You would be surprised what a little girl remembers. A lot of it will come flooding back as a mature woman. Some silly, some serious.

Millions of children are born and raised in the city and survive to
adulthood just fine and are psychologically sound!
What kind of statement is it's so hard in the city and so far so good!? So they should try country living so a pig can chew off a finger or a nervous cow kick her in the head? Watching a squash grow isn't the be all end all of enjoying life.

Ah, I see you're learning the most valuable lesson in parenting a toddler/pre-schooler. Never let them get overly hungry, tired or overwhelmed. Always carry a few healthy snacks in your pocket/purse along with a book or easy activity. And at Violet's age, they've pretty much stopped learning by putting everything in their mouths however the 'looking by touching' continues until a child learns that they can learn/see with their eyes. Nice day out with the family...thanks for sharing.
