As an Italian-American born and raised in NYC, I’m so happy to see all these Little Italy videos. So glad you guys had the best time! NYC is such a great city
It is good to hear you talking so positively about ‘southerners’ -for too long in Italy calabrese or Sicilian or apuglian were treated terribly in the north but they are the nicest people !!!
@@Ariom76 Good for them, my parents were treated so poorly that as soon as my dad was able to get a transfer. They went back south. My dad was a state employee with a University degree, but he was still considered a " terrone"
@@Chet73 Don't comment on things you know nothing about. It has nothing to do with the tax system. It had to do with history, how the south was forcibly annexed to the north. It has to do with the north aiding and abetting the mafia.
My father’s parents were immigrants from Sicily. Both of my parents and I were born and raised in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Little Italy was a large, booming community! Italian immigrants lived and worked together, replicated their way of life- including food, trades, stores- in the Lower East Side of Manhattan! After a few generations, though, people moved into “suburban sprawls” to buy homes, etc. I’m so glad that I caught the tail-end of what was a glorious, authentic, Italian-American immigrant experience! I wish you could have experienced it too, Alessio. It was really, really something special. Glad to see Casa D’Angelo carrying it on.
You two are such a wonderful couple. You literally radiate joy and your videos are so uplifting to this western Canadian who had the pleasure of living in a small village north of Rome years ago. Grazie mille!
I have actually eaten here before. I’m in NJ so I’m super close. I can vouch for the food. My grandmother was from Naples and they don’t play about their food! The man difference, I think is that Italian Americans eat more frequently than Italian Italians. My family got together for a Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve at 7 pm last year, they continued eating on and off thru midnight and well about 5 AM Christmas day!
I live in NY and used to work 2 blocks from this restaurant. Have never tried, but I'll make a point of doing so now! I lived in south Brooklyn, the other little Italy! 16:30 When that car goes by, you know you're in an Italian district. 😉 😀
You should go to Little Italy in Boston- the North End! Heaven!
Thanks , is beatiful see italians there with competencies who works there.
Il Cortile is amazing too. They'll make anything you want, even if it's not on the menu. But the menu is huge.
This was a fantastic video!! Have you ever thought about teaming up with Carlo and Sarah, and doing a video similar to this? That would be so cool!
Lovely Italian People !! Lovely Other World Places People !!
The man difference, I think is that Italian Americans eat more frequently than Italian Italians. My family got together for a Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve at 7 pm last year, they continued eating on and off thru midnight and well about 5 AM Christmas day!
That was a holiday event, not an every day thing. Italians, like the Spanish and French, eat later in the evenings.
Can't wait to see the Carrabbas episode!
I live in NY and used to work 2 blocks from this restaurant. Have never tried, but I'll make a point of doing so now! I lived in south Brooklyn, the other little Italy! I always went to Villabate Alba for bakery, and L&B Spumoni Gardens for the grandma style pizza. They cannot be beat! Someone got shot over the sauce recipe a few years ago. If you go to either of these places, please make a video!
