I COMPLETELY agree about having confidence. It makes all the world of difference. My classmates ask me “why are you so calm? Aren’t you nervous?” Of course I’m nervous. But being more nervous isn’t going to make me perform better. I may fail. I may not. But I’m going to do my best, with confidence. And hopefully that will be enough. (It usually is!) 💓🦷

Thank you for telling me to be in the moment. I’m in my second semester and I just failed my evaluation on exploring 😭 It took me aback so much and me think “man if I can’t get through exploring how the hell am I gonna do the rest?” I need to not be so hard on myself

Just began my 2nd year of hygiene school and..............it's getting harder and harder visualizing the end.
School has NEVER made me feel like this before. I hate it lol.
I'm stressed.
I've never cried because school and this thing is putting my ducts to WORK.

do you have any suggestions for starting to study before you get into the program? Are there certain topics i can start looking over now to help me in the long run?
I highly recommend not studying at all before the program. Enjoy time with your friends and family before starting the program. Nothing you study in advance will get you very far ahead. Try to relax and enjoy your free time while you have it. Good luck!
I didn’t even get in I’m still trucking away at my prerequisites but I will be able to apply to the program fall of 2022

I have a question- how much are newly grads supposed to ask for starting off?! I know some of it’s based off of the state you live in but I’m so nervous on how much to ask for
It honestly depends on your area, I would talk to some new grads that you know and see what the starting rate around you is
Are the pre req classes you took on human anatomy any different than the classes you took in the hygiene classes? I'm currently taking pre reqs and feel like I'm learning a lot of random stuff. Random question! Lol

I’m taking my written boards in 2 months. I got the studentrdh review book. Just wondering if you think that studying that book alone is enough for boards ? ThAnk you
From my understanding the StudentRDH book is meant as a supplemental material to the online course, I would definitely recommend getting the online course to be sure you’re fully prepared. how much work difference are there between dental hygiene school and high school?
DH school is a lot more intense in my opinion

Was the entrance exam hard?
I just had to have SAT or ACT scores to apply, they now require the TEAS but luckily I didn’t have to take that when I applied.
