When you was applying did you applied to multiple dental hygiene programs? I’m currently taking my prerequisites, my school have the dental hygiene program however I was wondering if I could apply to multiple programs just in case I don’t get accepted at the one at my school
When I applied to the dental hygiene program I only applied to the school I am attending now. I did my research regarding different schools. Initially I wanted to go to Concorde career college because I wanted something accelerated and I had gone to this school for dental assisting and liked it. I would suggest applying to different schools and accepting the one that accepts you first because getting into dental hygiene can be challenging. 🩵 I wish you the best and keep on pushing through .
Hello , yi personally believe that you do not need to be good at math to be in the dental hygiene program. You just need to know the basics of math, such as adding , subtracting, multiplying , mean median mode range, etc.. ✨ I did use math to calculate my dental anesthetics conversions.
I got accepted to both schools, but I cant decide to go to the school where my best friend got accepted too or go to the school that is closer to home where friends and family dont have to drive as far, plus the location seems safer. and the school seems better, but im not sure on that. I feel like going to a school where I already know someone to start would be fun, but do you think itll be fine to be further away from school to be with a friend?
Hey! That’s a very tough choice to make. I can give you some insight though. I am a DH student and my commute is something I’m absolutely dreading. Class started at 8am and I had to wake up at 5am to get to my campus. I got into the program without knowing anyone and that was scary at first but I made amazing friends. Take what u will with this info!!
Congratulations on getting accepted in the dental hygiene program. 🥳 I also agree with @pawwah1391. I used to live an hour away from school, my commute was fun at first but I had to leave the house 2 hours earlier because the traffic was unpredictable. Eventually I decided that my living situation was not ideal for me so ended moving back to my moms house. I personally would go with the campus that is closest to you because the commute can be exhausting. It is okay to not know anyone. Eventually you will get to know good friends 😊

Hello I would like to know, do you have to be good at math in dental hygiene program? Like do you have to use any kind of math to calculate things?

This is my 2 cents in life. Don't ever make a decision off of the fact someone is going to be there. Make a decision based on what's right for you.
@pawwah1391 5am is the time I woke up for grade school...no thank you nuh uh never again.
When you took the HESI test did it also cover physics and chemistry?
My hesi entrance exam no. I have not taken my dental hesi. I will take it soon 🥰
Do you work part time or full time anywhere? I want to go to Concorde but I still need income. What are the hours like?
I do not work, I have loans and a savings account. The hours vary each term. But definitely full time of school. I hope this helps 🫶🏼
Is it possible to keep a full time job while completing DH school?
Do you work while in DH school?
I do not work while in DH school 🦷
Are you doing Bachelor's in dental hygiene?
I am doing an associates for now, after I graduate I will go for my bachelors 😊
