    It's amazing how much more confident you appear in screen now vs then. Keep going Jordan.

      Thanks man. Its definitely been a process to get comfortable. Thanks for noticing. It's funny looking back at these early videos where I was still figuring out what the hell I was doing lol

    Very good tutorial! No nonsense, a lot of helpful and important details and a demomstration while rolling in just 4 minutes. Other youtubers talk for 4 minutes why they make the video (a bot exaggerated, but you good the point...)

      Thanks man I'm glad you recognize my efforts to get straight to the point. I learned so much BJJ off UA-cam back in the day and had to sit through so many people just wanting to hear themselves talk lol. Taught me how to not make videos haha

    Damn Jordan I’ve been watching a bunch of your newer videos recently and just came across this older one. So cool to see how much your video game has leveled up in just a year. Love your style and the videos you’re putting out. Keep up the good work!

    Jordan, thanks for this. I’m just starting BJJ and love how your videos clearly demonstrate things while also showing them in their real-world application after the demo.

      My pleasure man! Glad you're able to learn from them. BJJ is definitely the hardest when starting out. Hopefully I can help lessen the learning curve 🙂

    Went to my 5th class last night and was able to pass my partner's full guard and get the arm triangle after watching this video a few times. Was my first submission since starting and felt good. Bad news is that my old shoulder injury came back up and might have to miss the next few classes. Good thing theirs more videos to watch.

      Glad to hear I was able to help you land it! First sub feels the best. Sucks you hurt your shoulder though. I hope you heal up quick!

    Please more tutorials & videos like this for most moves for white-blue belts especially. They are very nice to watch and very helpful. Especially with your new style of videos and subs I imagine it will be even better

    Hey Jordan, arm triangle is by far my favorite choke; being a wrestler, that position came pretty naturally to me. Something I've been doing to finish is taking a d'arce/anaconda grip and using the non-choking hand to peel back the forehead. I found it exposes the neck just enough to focus pressure from the shoulder onto the corotid. Would you recommend this finish along with bringing the head closer and cinching the arm in deeper? Or should I do away with it and focus only on brining the head in closer?

    I've seen how Gordon Ryan likes to finish the arm triangle from a high mount.
    When finishing from the side, do you have any fear at all that they may be able to bridge and take your back?

    I know I am a bit late to this video, but maybe you or somebody can help me with the question. How to you secure the arm, when I walk my hand up I quite often lose the arm before I get it high enough and I have the feeling if I set my hand much closer to the body of my partner, they have way more strength. I feel like I miss something and don't reall know what it is.

    arm triangles are really hard to get if the uke even has any idea of basic defense or knows the babybridge... or even how to shrug the shoulders... its more of a power move - you have to practically overpower the uke to get it if they have even the faintest idea how to defend

    • @JordanTeachesJiujitsu
      @JordanTeachesJiujitsu  2 роки тому +7

      I'm not sure I agree. I get arm triangles all the time on people that are bigger and stronger. Just like any technique it will be harder on stronger opponents. The arm triangle is no different 🙂
