I feel so robbed that I only found out about this guy now. Thanks for the quality guests. I thought I understood the choke quite well but evidently, there's so much more to learn. Hell yes.
@@brassvulcher8207 Not at all. All his material is very technical and non attribute based. You're just a dumbass to perceive his teaching (clearly you don't listen and you only hear what you want to hear) material in that way. His crap! You have shit for brains and are projecting.
Arm-in Strangles are wrestlers favorites. And this gold right here is pure Catch wrestling all the way down to the Grapevine steerings of the body. Great stuff!
I was amazed at how easily Neil could make his training partner tap from a position where most grapplers wouldn't even feel they have a submission, but then I realized that he makes Bernardo Faria, who was a heavyweight and superheavyweight, look small by comparison lol. I like his style of teaching though. He thinks about moves in a very strategic and methodical way, where every detail has a purpose.
I submitted via an arm triangle at class tonight. I’m certain that little grapevine trick at the end and improved head position would have my choke much tighter. Can’t wait to rep this!

Those saying it's because he is so big...I have been doing the choke this way for years with a slight variation on head position. Works like a charm everytime and I am 5'7 175 pounds.
Nope. It works for me when I was 77kg on same size and bigger. The setup is key you need a start point to end point. Note: how he forced up the arm at the end to get his chin across on to the other side of the arm. Then hold the armpit with your free arm while also holding it with your head. Then do what he said as that's such a very very cool idea.
"dont let the crook (of your arm) rob you of your choke" - i will literally never forget that lol

Jiu jitsu never stops.. soo many details. Love our sport
Try his book
Ask three coaches about the arm triangle and you get three completely different opinions.
This may be the happiest I've Neil Melanson look! Fills my heart with joy. :)
That little detail at the end - awesome
That detail of using the legs to get the adjustment and then to turn him into the choke with the other leg, is submission wrestling IQ over 9000!
Pure gold. One of my favorite coaches to learn from.
This version has become the new meta of Arm-in Strangles. Especially at high level.
I recently saw Bo Nickal explaining the same concept.
The most underrated grappling coach in the world
Not really, all his crap requires strength and is not high percentage.

Beautiful arm triangle. Probably the best I seen, one of the most important subs in my opinion
single arm triangle might just be the most alpha submission out there
@Mark Berenger weak simps like you should stay out of bjj. You’re the kind of guy who think the mat is a safe space
This was my first successful sub. I did it from halfguard reaching to the opposite side shoulder
Love the hourglass analogy.
Whaaah. I wanted to see something from mount and when he said it at the end I was like a tiny school girl with excitement.
This is my favourite submission
Is the instructional going to drop soon? I'm anxiously waiting for this one and his shoulder pin instructional

Neil is the man !
So, what was the setup for getting that deep of an head and arm connection from side control? 😅 Everything from there seems legit
This is brilliant
This guy is a beast
I would like to see Rodolfo Vieira explaining this technique !
He can explain how to tap when in it.
WHAT did he say you’ll put them to sleep before u finish thas crazy
