    DO NOT GREASE the input shaft splines or throw-out bearing!
    When the grease gets hot, the oily vapor will get onto everything within the bell housing, including flywheel, clutch disc & pressure plate.
    A very very light coat of anti seize, dry slide or lubriplate on the input shaft collar is all that is needed.
    Flywheel to crankshaft bolts use blue thread-locker to seal.
    Other than that, good video.

    if you use grease to fill hole in pilot bearing/bushing, then use either clutch plate tool or punch same size as hole in bearing/bushing n just push it in bearing/bushing will slide right out. called hydraulic method. i also heard a slice of bread works using same method

    A couple of comments: ARP flywheel bolts come with thread locker AND a sealant. The flywheel bolts go into the crankcase. So it may be a good idea to apply some thread sealant near the head end of the bolts. If they leak oil it will run out onto the clutch side of the flywheel. On Mustangs with dual exhaust and an original style H-pipe, there will be an exhaust hanger that gets sandwiched between the upper and lower transmission mount.

    Great video. Hey for the upgrade to 10 1/2 clutch and flywheel. Did you have to change the bell housing also or is that the same to fit 10 or 10 1/2 kits?

    Hey Adam, i just getting around to putting T5 in, had wait for help with that part, but i have a question? The guy helping me is a mechanic and he knew i had the bell on, but here is my question because i did everything you did but i'm using hydraulic clutch and im paste what he said to me and i had forgot even though i bought brand new caliber. ( I hope you know you must dial in the bellhousing before installing the clutch and pressure plate. There are plenty of videos on youtube. The T5 trans has a tapered input shaft bearing. Any misalignment will burn out the bearing 0 Thats what he said, well i didn't!! Will i be ok??? Thanks Man, you helped me a lot!!! Rick

      Hi. I didn't check the run out on mine either. Being that it was the original bell housing on mine and not seeing any damage to the pilot bearing ect. I just installed. Your mechanic is definitely right, it's good practice for sure. If it was an aftermarket bell housing or some kind of swap, then I would definitely recommend it. So far no issues with mine. I'll keep my fingers crossed for the both of us..lol. 🤞

      @@AdamzGarage Yea the bell is from 89 foxbody, i did C4 to T5 swap, i installed new bearing, followed your whole video, i even bought caliber and was laying on table for 6 months just forgot that step, guess i'll take it back off, thanks for you help, have a good one, i'll let you know how it goes

    Getting ready to disassemble my clutch also, ironically on an 84 GT350 also that I've had since 84 and have driven it faithfully every year. Any chance you have information on the kit that you used such as where i can find it. I have a good feeling my flywheel is gonna be bad too. If you go to my UA-cam channel you can see the car and you'll hear that the clutch is done. Lol. Thanks

    • @AdamzGarage
      @AdamzGarage  3 роки тому

      Thats awesome that you've had it since 1984. Awesome cars. I've had mine for almost 20 years. I bought that clutch kit years ago when my clutch went. Then car sat for many years. All I can remember is it was considered a stage 2. I didn't want anything to extreme but wanted something that could handle the little horsepower I added . But I definitely recommend getting a kit with the new flywheel, mine was pretty bad. Good luck with your project , ill check it out on your Chanel.

    So I just did the clutch on my 83 convertible mustang and had the same slack in the clutch cable that you did. What did you do to fix that?

    • @Olds_Pwr
      @Olds_Pwr 4 місяці тому

      I know this has been one year but I do believe if you pull up on the clutch pedal, the clutch quadrant under the dash should then click to adjust the proper length of the cable.

    Hey I have an 87 Suzuki LT230s Quadsport that I’m working on. Do you have a website or place you recommend for buying bearings for a rear swing arm, rear axle, and front A-arms?

    • @AdamzGarage
      @AdamzGarage  4 роки тому

      Hi. I actually get a lot of my parts from eBay. But be careful they have some cheap bearings that aren't worth taking a chance, especially with the work involved. One brand I have used with good luck is "All Balls". Also I use Babbitt's for oem parts, believe it or not there are some oem stuff you can still get from them. Also a good way to search for
      " New old stock" on eBay is to put in
      "Suzuki 230 NOS" don't put in 230s or 230e just plain 230

    Do you have a Video for adjusting that clutch before you put the transmission in? Or do i just install it like you did?

    • @AdamzGarage
      @AdamzGarage  3 роки тому +1

      You just install it like I did. Your adjustments if any, would be at the clutch cable end where it attaches to the clutch fork, or firewall adjuster on aftermarket clutch cables. The stock oem cable doesn't have a firewall adjuster.
