    That too starter bolt sure is a bear. I’m doing this tonight. LMR sure is the best place to buy these parts. Thank you for the video 3 years later.

    Thank you !!
    The LMR video and the instructions that came with the starter didn't clearly show how the wires went on the starter.
    Very well done!!

    Hey, I like your videos. They are very informative. I noticed that on your sandblaster video, you had comments turned off.
    So this is regarding that video. I would like to see a follow up on the sandblaster with all the upgrades you made to it.
    Maybe you can list them so we can try to source them, and secondly if you still recommend the sandblaster with the upgrades.
    Thanks again and keep up the good work.

      Hi. Thanks for the comment. Since I made the original video the only thing I did was replace the valve with the hole in the side. Some time after that video I used it again and had my much larger air compressor up and running and that in itself made a huge difference. Still clogged a few times but nothing like before. Also I found out the final valve " the one that blew a hole in the side" should either be full open or full closed. All the adjustments should be done before that valve. So yes for the price I would recommend it, just takes a little getting used to.

    What if you have a 94-95 gt it’s the same starter but no solenoid on fender where does the red wire go to? Any idea?

    • @AdamzGarage
      @AdamzGarage  Рік тому +1

      I have to say, I'm not familiar with the 94/95's . I think they went to the solenoid being attached to the starter itself in 94?

    Just what I was after to see.. only one wire to thw starter.?

    • @AdamzGarage
      @AdamzGarage  4 роки тому +2

      Hi. Yeah basically you have the original starter wire that goes down to your starter , then your adding one more wire, what I would call the trigger wire. Good luck with your project 👍

    I wish that I could mount the real Ford starter on the left on my 04 Subaru Forester, and get rid of that wimpy sounding PMGR Subaru starter, but it would be a lot of work. I installed the biggest group size 24 F battery that would fit with all custom made 2 gauge battery cables, so it cranks over much faster and sounds less wimpy. I wanted to put in a 1,000 CA battery like in my 1990 Ford Econoline van, but it would not fit. Looks like there's a place on the passenger side where I can mount a 1,000 CA battery and now that I can make my own battery cables I will use 4/0 ought battery cables for everything even my lawnmowers. So maybe I can get it to crank over even faster and sound a little less wimpy.

    I am currently installing this very started on my 95 gt. Your video was helpful but there is no solenoid on the fender like yours. So where does the suppled red wire go. Not sure can’t find a video to see

    • @AdamzGarage
      @AdamzGarage  Рік тому +1

      I know starting in 1992 they stopped using the fender mounted solenoid. I don't think you have to use the included trigger wire. Your year should work without it.

    Trigger wire length?

    what are the dimensions of this starter were having issues because of header spacing

    • @AdamzGarage
      @AdamzGarage  3 роки тому

      Hi. I'm not exactly sure now that it is installed. But I can say. I have equal length headers and had no clearance issues. It's considerably smaller than the stock starter. Atleast on the 1984 mustang 5.0. I think 1992? They started using the mini starter oem.

    I would have cut that trigger wire to the right length and put a new end on it.

    how high do you have your car lifted?

      I actually built platforms out of 2x4's that got me an extra 5 inches and then the jack stand are like another 14 inches. So roughly 19 inches.

    Why couldn’t we just leave all the wiring the same and hook the original (black) wire to where you hooked the included (red) and then run the new wire they include straight to the positive? Then the only thing you’ll have to drill bigger is the I connector they include and you’d be able to that under the hood rather than lying on the ground

    • @AdamzGarage
      @AdamzGarage  3 роки тому +1

      I think guys have done it that way with success. The method I used is the preferred method from the manufacturer so I went with it. But good point. 👍

    • @tylervickers1361

      @@AdamzGarage update: I tried it that way, the manufacturer recommends it that way for a reason, the red wire is not large enough to handle the current and IT WILL MELT
