As a Cambodian American that has spent absolutely 0.0 seconds in Cambodia, welcome!! Haha!!! Also I will mention, China is getting its hands into everywhere in the world, including the USA! Buying farm land, building stuff, etc. Cambodia is one of the fastest growing and advancing countries on the planet, not because of China though, but rather the shift and recovery from the old regime (khmer rouge). Along with
Haha well thank you for that welcome anywho haha and it was crazy to see how much work was ongoing and we could definitely see Cambodia being a huge place to visit in year's to come
As a Malaysian, we are familiar with the bird. The bird is called Rhinoceros Hornbill, they are commonly found in the rain forest of Borneo. In fact, it is the national bird of Sarawak, Malaysia. ☺
Don’t be put off by the scare mongering. We have recently spent just under a month in Cambodia and loved it. Don’t get me wrong you won’t come away mind blown but the laid back pace of life and the warm, friendly people are the best we have come across so far. Yes it’s slightly more expensive than it’s neighbouring countries but eat street food and stay in hostels and the costs come right down. My personal highlights of Cambodia are as followed. Learn the brutal history of the Khmer Rouge regime in Phnom Penh (this will give you more respect for the people of this country more than anywhere else). Head to Bokor mountain on a scooter in Kampot. Spend time on both southern islands Koh Rong & Samloem and see which one you prefer. We loved M’pai bay for its chilled vibes and local way of life. Although long beach on Koh rong is stunning. White sand and clear waters there is more action on KR. Ankgor wat at siem riep. Bamboo train and sunset bat caves in Battambang. Rare dolphin watching at Kratie. We spent a wonderful 3 nights at Koh Trong island opposite Kratie situated within the Mekong river. Enjoy guys 🇰🇭
Thank you so much for all of this!! We realised how time went on that we could find ways to keep down our overall spend… there’s always a way haha but we also really enjoyed our time in Cambodia and super glad we decided to go despite what everyone was saying
They are common in South East Asia. I spotted a few when I was in Pulau Pangkor, an island off the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Huge bird and they make a loud baritone-like voice. Yes, very impressive indeed.
Hey guys, thanks for this video - really helpful as we are sat at an airport in Thailand right this second about to fly to Cambodia! Totally not sure what to expect but just like you want to check it out despite what some people might say. Given you a subscribe and looking forward to seeing more of your journey! 😊💚
Another upbeat vlog, despite the construction. I love Siem Reap and hope you are heading there next. The border from Thailand was an issue for me in 2018 too. I hope you like our geeky new channel name. We are rebranding to fit better with our mission to promote environmental and cultural preservation on our upcoming carbon-neutral UNESCO world tour. Cheers and keep up the fun. - Turtle
Thanks Turtle! Thankfully we had no issues leaving Cambodia but on the way in the border crossing was a disaster!! And yes we did go to siem reap but we visited some islands first for a bit of relaxation time 😎 love the new name it's very fitting for yous 🙌🏻
@Eoin and Aisling dear brother and sister from Ireland. 500 plus malaysians were forced by gangs in Myanmar and Cambodia to scam others online. 50% were rescued or escaped. Some beaten, some succumbed to injury and died. Some committed suicide to avoid torture. You have no idea. They recruit people for 'jobs' via job scams during pandemic and after pandemic. Online scam hq is myanmar and Cambodia.

Thanks Paul!
Enjoy trip
Happy happy 🇰🇭🙏🏻
Thank you! 😃
If you still in Cambodia, try to eat salad korko with catfish or pork ribs. That's a real cambodia food.
Try going to koh Kong province the cardamon mountains often missed but brilliant
Thanks for the recommendation!

When we started thinking we actually seen much smaller versions in Langkawi when we were visiting the highest point on the island

The bird is called a hornbill. It is also the national bird for the state of Sarawak in Borneo Malaysia which you see it on the state’s coat of arms..
It was such an impressive bird! We couldn’t believe the size of it and the noise it made haha
