Just before I visited Cambodia in 2001 they installed the very first escalator in the country!! There were zero high rise buildings that I saw. It really has come a long way. Which is great as I love the Cambodian people for being so friendly and welcoming. Happy Travels
As an expat resident of Phnom Penh I thought this was a fun and informative travel overview of PP. It touched on the main areas and attractions that are available to a visitor. There is certainly a lot more to see and explore than what is in the clip but well done Alina and your dad for opening travelers eyes to what they could see if they visit Cambodia. A lot more people are coming here now.
Your Dad is such a good travel buddy! Thanks for sharing some of the history of the city. It’s so important to know the history good and bad of a location to get a deeper understanding of a country and it’s people! ❤
I really hadn't heard much about Cambodia since the days of Khmer rouge. Your first video in country shows a stunningly beautiful city with gorgeous palaces and temples. You present a vibrant and modern city. This is definitely moved on to my must visit list based solely on your presentation. A well done video, but then why would I expect less.

Dear Alina. With your Dad accompanying we can all see your inner glow. This is special. All the Dads watching at home are smilin'.... Its a real pleasure to watch your videos. Thank you.
I just love watching you & your dad. He's a real trooper; doesn't talk too much, enthralled by everything. How lucky to have a daughter who wants to travel with him.
Alina, another travel video hit out of the park! Fantastic videography, beautiful sites, interesting information, and awesome travel tips. Cambodia is a jewel! Thank you again for allowing me to tag along. I can hardly wait for the next adventure. God bless!
PP is expanding rapidly. More and more developments is changing the landscape every year. I went there last year and was quite surprised how fast things were changing.
I was born in the 80’s in a refugee camp on the Thai border, my family directly impacted by the Khmer Rouge. Finally making the journey home with two kids in tow. Thanks for the tips! Dad should have tried the snail!!
Good video, you sound calm and very polite. I am Cambodian myself. Thank-you for visiting Cambodia. I will be there in January 2025 for the first time. I've beening living in USA since the early 80s. You're open minded and informative. Your parents raised you well. Your pop is cool too...
I just discovered your channel! And I'm loving it!! I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia! My mom and I love watching you and your dad...He is adorable! 😅 I absolutely love traveling, but my mom does not... so we watch travel videos together. If my dad were still alive, I know he would travel with me! So it does my heart good to see you and your dad together. From one daughter to another, please hug your dad for me. Enjoy your time together. I can't wait to watch your next video! 😍
your travel doesn't only show the attractions of Cambodia and its cultural difference but it also reminds me of the country becoming one of the important facets of world history, thanks so much.
Yes. While in school, I don’t recall countries like Cambodia were ever talked about in World History class. Because of the genocide, it definitely should.
@@mikewhocheeseharry5292 genocide issue had become a part of debate discussion when I was in high school. According to a datum presented in one of the debates, I realized Cambodia is at par with Bangladesh genocide, and Nazi against the Polish in term of the number of victims which indicates at about 3,000,000. The country has regained its identity and integrity into the modern era which I also think is the reason why Cambodia is currently one of the most visited tourist spots in South East Asia.
Hello Alina! 😄🙏👋🌟 I hope your having a wonderful day! This is really a beautiful excellent super magnificent video! 😁👍❤️👏📹🇰🇭🥇💯💫✨🌟 The city of Phnom Penh looks so amazing! Just found you site! I was in Cambodia in 2010. You did a great job of representing the city and country. The Genocide Musuem is a “must”to see and experience. Thank you for including this place. That time in history has a huge effect on the people to this day. Thank you again!!
Very entertaining video! I’m cambodian but always lived abroad so you’ve taught me some very interesting facts, thanks for doing research and being informed about the culture 🙏 Very sensible
Catching up on your videos Alina and this one was an absolute pleasure to watch. Really nice area with a lot of rich history albeit some of it very sad. Thanks for sharing.
Alina, your description is very accurate about the Khmer Rouge. I am impressed by you young Lady. Well said. Oh my God I want some of that fish Amok, have not had it in a long long time. Can't find any in Chicago.LOL
Those birds that you saw at Wat Phnom are actually owned by a governor (I forgot his name). He owns 30+ of those birds and they’re often seen flying around the city.
Cant wait to see your Kampot video. It's my hometown. Haven't been there for many years but will be there end of this month. PS. Great channel and subscribed.
Beautiful structures as well as the delicious looking local foods in this video captivate my attention and interest. I like the content of this video a lot.😀👍👍
there's a quiet little fishing village called KEP, just south Cambodia, not far from Campot, some very nice resorts by the coast..and great restaurant's.
@7:00 i just wanna correct you a little bit. Cambodia is very cheap in general. Brown coffee is known for being the expensive brand in cambodia 😂. If you want cheaper coffee, try a local restaurant and it’ll be cheaper.
the birds are called Hornbill. One interesting fact about this bird is Hornbills are mate for life. They always fly as a couple and I enjoy seeing them do that when I drove my motorbike past Wat Phnom area.
Once again thank you for another amazing and wonderful video. You and your dad are such amazing people. I wish I still have my mom and dad to tag along with during my vacation. Unfortunately they both died during the Khmer Rouge time in 1976 one year after they took over and kicked us out of our home in Phnom Penh. Thank you I really enjoy you your dad and the video. Have fun and stay safe.
The great hornbill (Buceros bicornis), also known as the concave-casqued hornbill, great Indian hornbill or great pied hornbill, is one of the larger members of the hornbill family. It occurs in the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. It is predominantly frugivorous, but also preys on small mammals, reptiles and birds
Hello Alina, epic impressions well captured. Very good audio, partly cut to the well selected music. 👍🏻 16:23 Only 3 recognizable audio clicks at cutting points:) I guess either a very minimal fade-out or crossfade on the audio track would resolve it. Or cutting at points, where the very zoomed in waveform crosses the zero line. But this might be difficult because you additionally are constrained to the points where the video frames start. Best regards, Ralf
Correction: Khmer rouge regime started from April 17 1979 to January 06 1979. Also when Cambodia gained its independence from France. It was a Kingdom, not Republic.
