That's what's really funny about him is how he slips these little lines in under the radar of ppl he talks to -- often the person doesn't even notice he said anything unusual. So you aren't missing a joke exactly, it's more in the delivery. Well, and the absurdity of saying he wasn't familiar with an entire country.

there was just this summer such a case in Finland, in my country, where a woman teacher was beaten live by her husband over video call which showed to her pupils and he did not get jail time.
our maximum for a crime is 12 years. but overwhelmingly most are on probation. as a first-timer, if you sit, you only need to sit 1/3. and you get a free lawyer paid by the state as your defense lawyer, with no cost roof. and it can be a private lawyer, that is specialized, with all the time in the world for you, if you don't have money.
the more feminist country is, the less harsh prison sentences you get, fewer people in jails. most foreigners can't stomach it. you actually need to be pretty metal for feminism.
