Thank you for the review. I heard about the base game because of your first video. (Also Filcher, which I really loved) The game has a unique style with satisfying gunplay and an interesting world. As you said, the DLC sounds like more of the same, so I think I will enjoy it. For game recommendations; There are games which are among my favorites, like Sekiro, Read Dead Redemption 2, Baldurs Gate 3, Disco Elysium or Return of the Obra Dinn. But these are games which are quite different to your games you played. Your channel has more the vibe of immersive sims/stealth games to it. But you still covered with Anothers Crabs Treasure a actionsoulslike and with Hardspace: Shipbreaker a simulation game. So maybe from time to time you also tackle different genres. But to stick more the immersive sims/stealth side, here are game recommendations for you in that vein: Mark Of the Ninja (I played it, loved it) Aragami series (played them, enjoyed it) Ereban (didn't play) Republique (didn't play) Volume (didn't play) Counter Spy (didn't play) Invisible Inc (played it,enjoyed it) Sir, you are being hunted (didn't play) Evotiction (didn't play) CTRl Alt Ego (played it, loved it) Cruelty Squad (played it, loved it) Weird West (played it, enjoyed it) Eldrich (didn't play) Selaco (didn't play) Witchfire (didn't play) Hunt Showdown (played it, loved it) The games from Mimimi who created the stealth/tactics genre (played all of them, they are pretty much a masterclass in stealth game design- Sumerian Six this year was also a great spiritual successor) And of course, there are still the legacy series like Dishonored. Splinter Cell series Thief series Hitman series Metal Gear (Metal Gear Solid 5 specifically) Deus Ex series System Shock series Of course 2017s Prey (Maybe Bioshock, there arent really that immersive sims like though) But you said you want to focus more on the indie and AA sectors. Still if there is a time where there isn't much to play you still have plenty to talk about. So yeah, really excited about your coming videos. You are probably in my top 5 video game critics out there. Really appreciate your work and style. I personally also would agree that on average, the triple A games have declined. But I cant resonate with people who say "gaming is dying". Thanks to Indie and double A there are so many creative and nowadays also more and more polished games out there, so for me I have still around 5,6,7 games each year which Im really enthuse about it. The difference is, most of them arent triple A games. There are still triple A games each years which I loved. For example this years Metaphor Refantazio or last years Baldurs Gate 3 and Tears of the Kigdom. And Baldurs Gate 3 is one of my favorite games now. Great Triple A games still come out, its just rarer. However great Indie games are much more common. So its not the worst time to be a videogame enjoyer. In conclusion Im eager to see, which indie and double A games will surprise us this year and also Im excited for the few Triple A games in the future. (I have a skeptical and exciting anticipation for the Blade game from Arcane, Judas from Ghost Story Games the James Bond game from IO Interactive , Perfect Dark reboot from crystal dynamics the more double A looking Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream and Thick As Thieves and hopefully the 1,0 release from the indie game Gloomwood, the first impressions are strong, so It won’t turn out like shadows of doubt) Beside from videogames, "Cheers to 2025"!
Wow, thank you for all of those recommendations. I added quite a few of those to the list and will hopefully get to a few of them this year! I plan on doing some of the "legacy series" eventually because they're all staples in the gaming community to this day and will remain to be for years to come. It means a lot to me being one your top 5 video game critics, Truly. I hope I continue to entertain and lead not only you, but many others to titles that they haven't heard of.
well, out of all the games Hyperstrange has released, this is the only one that got extra content after the initial game release, so hopefully that means this will be a series, and not just a 1 off game like other games I really like from them (Postan Brain Damaged, Elderborn)
Since you already covered Dishonored and Deathloop, you should cover Prey 2017. Its one of my favourite games of all times, you probable already played it, if you didnt you should give it a try.
