Greetings from southern Ontario Canada I really enjoyed the video looking forward to seeing this pickup here i haven't seen many of these here and when i do i have to look twice 😂
For anyone stating that the Santa cruz needs a "longer bed" or " needs to be bigger" your clearly missing the point of this vehicle and are in the wrong segment size. If the Santa cruz was bigger etc then it wouldn't be a compact would it?
This was my argument with the ford Maverick but good God this thing has a smaller bed than the Maverick. At a certain point you really don't have a truck or reason to buy these things. I think size wise the ford maverick is perfect. Smaller and potentially cheaper than a mid size truck but still enough room to use it as a truck. It's hard for me to stick with that argument with the Santa Cruz
@nrs10001 Ford has the worst service I have ever seen. On that alone I chose the turbo Santa Cruz and I love it. It doesn't look like a Flint stone truck but a cool vehicle. The Santa cruz out performs the maverick as well.
@@nrs10001 then go buy the $80,000 F150. Please go buy it. Your missing the point of the vehicle. They aren't TRYING to make a truck, but something you can carry some stuff and pull as well. My turbo Santa Cruz does everything I need. If I need a full size bed I'll pull my 8x10 trailer with my Santa Cruz which I do and I'm good with that. Bless your heart!!
@billbobagginsbonham9239 I have an f150 but that's not my point.. my first truck was a Nissan frontier and it was the greatest truck in the world. It was also a small truck so I'm not against small trucks. I'm just saying this thing isn't even a small/compact truck. What I like about the Ford maverick is its overall dimensions, not the fact it's a ford. I couldn't care less about ford. If the Santa Cruz had a foot longer bed I wouldn't be complaining. The size of bed it has though..at that point just buy a compact suv. Same size and cheaper
I actually didn’t know it shared platforms with the Tucson. I always thought it was the Santa Fe. A pickup version of the new Santa Fe would be really neat.
I bought a 2022 Santa Cruz. 41,000 miles on it now. The other day in the city (I live out in the boonies) I hit a curb HARD with the left front tire. The fact that the Maverick is only outselling it 3:1 amazes me. I expected at least 5:1 when they both launched, based solely on perceptions of Hyundai as a "cheap car" company and Ford being a "truck" company. Ultimately, while the two are competitors by segment, they have very distinct niches within that segment. I still absolutely LOVE my early '22 Ultimate after nearly 100,000km (60,000 miles) and quite like the updated grille and color options. Oh man, how I wish that Canyon Red was available on the 22s!! The interior updates address a lot of the early buyer complaints too ... rear seat arm rest and the lack of buttons/knobs/wireless CP and AA on the top trims. Hyundai and Kia should make actually relevant changes instead of an "off road appearance" package. Raise the ride height, change the AWD system, AT tires, skid plates and a rear locker.
Then when you get a $55K price tag with everything you're asking for everyone would be saying "I'll just buy a Jeep or real offroad capable truck (Tacoma) if I am spending that much!"

No hybrid, very small back seat and the bed needs to be a foot longer..
Tiny how? What are you, 7ft tall? It's plenty big unless you're trying to lay back in it. Rear leg room is the same as Maverick's.
Honestly, I think all the changes are either meh or useless. I'm glad there's less piano black. The Ford is just entirely better than this. It's cheaper, has a higher MPG model, a bigger bed, and the turbo isn't burdened by a fragile transmission. Hopefully Hyundai fixes all this with the 2nd gen.
To be fair the transmission in the Maverick was never designed for a small truck and it is operating just above its torque specifications. There are plenty of people who have blown that transmission up prematurely.
I don't like the look I'm getting 2023-2024 they look better
Father has a 22 non turbo. Very underpowered and he drives like a turtle and does not get above 23 mpg.
Can’t get into Hyundai new interior design. Steering wheel and screen is really bland looking
Hyundai ruined the front grill...FAIL
Same powertrain, same boring tablet instead of real instruments, and uglified exterior - nothing to see here.
No room inside. Back seat is tiny.
Let me guess, you'll be the first to say that the Maverick has more room................................when they literally have the same rear leg room.
@@invictusf5790 im just saying i have been in the back seat of the maverick colorado ranger frontier and ridgeline and the ridgeline has the most room and is the most comfortable.
I don’t buy korean cars in America. Only lcd screens
No Hybrid, No go. Lame.
Hyundai ruined it! Ugly wheels, ugly red (orange) terrible dash update. I will not be upgrading from my 23 Limited. Tuscon is just as bad! Who signs off on these changes?
A truck for women
It is not a truck.
I'm sure your mom has one then.
