How to Make your own magnetic rod holder for fishing rods

- I've been using a different magnetic rod holder for my tailgate for the last couple of years. I thought I would try to make an upgraded version of it, and here it is. It's not perfect, but it is an upgrade. I've already thought of a few things I could do to improve it again. So who knows, maybe there will be a third version. Hope you enjoy and let me know if you come up with some ideas of your own. @FishinNStuff could do better for sure.

I like it a lot. Great for running up and down the beach when surf fishing for perch or anytime you move a lot.

First of all, glad to see you’re still alive man. Second, no I think it could be a lot better. If someone steals it and sells it, I always have the date posted on the video if I wanted to make a fuss about it. If I come up with an even better version that I could market, I might consider it though.

Flip the magnets around on the original one and the bracket could sit on top of the tailgate and be less likely to slip down or fall off.
That’s a good idea, but I have a protective plastic guard on the end of my tailgate that inhibits the magnets. It doesn’t slip anyway, I added another magnet bar to the back. Thanks for the comment.
How big of a bed do you have? That is an awesome idea for fishing rods.
