FMS hat👍😁👏👏👏 MY nx6, had to return it after 1st update, 2 yrs ago. 4th time, it came back fixed, with a FREE Spektrum cap!👍🤪! (I wear that cap EVERY fly day. & yes THAT CAP has made me the pilot I am today!!! My story & I'm sticking with it!)
I bought one of these for $389 back in May from Fair RC on Amazon. I figured it was a V1, but it was actually the new version and came with the Reflex gyro. Of course, I use Spektrum receivers with AS3X/SAFE so I didn't use the Reflex gyro. It flies great and weighs a lot less than the 90mm Freewing T-45 I just got. I had to play with the wire that operates the main gear doors to get them to work reliably. I would say it's one my top four EDF's..
Was it easy to swap out the reflex what did you replace it with ?and could a avian esc be put in it too, going to do it with mine went it arrives ,was it easy to figure out the wiring
I still feel bad for my 80mm FMS Bae Hawk. It was my 2nd jet from FMS and I bought the Futura v3 shortly after. The Bae Hawk became the ugly, cross-eyed, redheaded stepchild of the hangar. All it did was fly perfect, very steady, pretty fast and easy to land.
this is byfar my favorite rc jet. I've had one since its initial release and still love flying it to this day. I've cut the battery compartment out to push a 4500 flight pack 1.25 inches past where the original wall would be and it flies amazing with low rates. wheelie landings all day and great flight times.
OFF topic, but, I picked up an Eflite Prometheus last Saturday. Put 100a avian esc in, left everything else stock. Maidened yesterday in 15mph winds. Impressive is an understatement. Eflite NEEDS this 1 back!!!
@@memcrew1 Probably the CG being too far forward. We did some mods to the battery tray to move the battery back a few more inches. That'll get shown next time we fly it.
The Red Arrows paint scheme really pops in the Sun. Oddly, the RAF did an extensive color scheme study to optimize air to air visibility and they picked solid black for the Hawk T2. Probably because there is no Sun in the UK.
E-flite F-14 twin 40mm edf jet.......the missing birdy. Can you tell me and your other subscribers where the missing birdy is??? I know it's unrelated to this jet here. It's actually a real thing to. It was an aggressor out of Fort Richardson Fairbanks, AK along with the F-16 the aggressor scheme was a real thing. In Anchorage we have the F-22'S, see those guys daily and they keep the F-35's in Fairbanks now. They did the same with F-15's and F-16's when those were are front line fighters they kept them seperate. Anyway I'm now for sure a loyal subscriber... can you find the missing birdy? Eflite F14 twin 40mm. Thank you so much!
We don't work for HH and we don't have insider information that we can share. Even if we did have information, we couldn't share it because we would have signed an agreement stating such. We have no idea where the 40mm F-14 is but it's presumably coming out at some point. Like what happened with the F-15 from MRC, the jet probably got damaged in shipping coming to the US and a new batch had to be made with reinforced shipment packaging. That's our guess anyhow.
Veeery nice video. I´m considering one just by that great colour xD I have a second hand one 70mm FW to be maidened though... And that 105mm Hobbyking would be great but on the original red colour and not on phantasy scheme xD
Maybe a second jet or third, definitely not a first. The Rafale 64mm is much better choice for a first jet that you can enjoy as your skills improve: bit.ly/Rafale64
Hi nice flying, i have the arrows hawk 50mm, out of interest, how do they compare? Could you use this as low flight time beginner ish jet? Keep up the great flying.
No idea, we've never flown the Arrows Hawk. This jet would definitely be a good trainer jet if you're interested in a modern military trainer. It's not particularly hard to fly, and if you have some experience already, it should be a good choice.
This very nice, and as always great video presentation. I'm curious, the specs on the fuselage and wingspan are nearly identical to the FMS Futura 80MM V3. Which do you find most enjoyable flying between the two?
Hey Jon, Nice review. I just picked one up built but never flown. 1. Should I go with SMC 4400 or 5300? I have both. Best battery placement? 2. Would Reflex with the AR620 or unprogrammed AR630 work well? Or should I just remove Reflex? 3. What’s your final fix for the pesky gear doors? Thanks in advance!
It won't fly as long on the 4400, but won't stall anywhere near as easily and it will handle better overall with the lighter wing loading. Reflex is OK, but AS3X is significantly better because it can be customized via your transmitter. We'd recommend removing the weight and using AS3X. We highly recommend going with an AR637 for maximum signal quality since it has two antennae that can be placed away from potential RF interference sources on the aircraft. The 620 and 630 have internal antennae which can be prone to signal loss on complex models like the Hawk. bit.ly/AR637T We never fixed the gear doors. They really don't bother us much. What we did end up doing is adding a tailwheel to the jet because the 3600 packs we fly on allow it to wheelie with ease, which was scraping up the tail. The tailwheel prevents this entirely. ua-cam.com/video/GTf_cI0Sbtc/v-deo.html To keep in touch or ask questions easier, try joining us on Discord: bit.ly/TBRCDiscord

Hey guys! Just found your channel, and I think it's great. I'm not far away in Dunn. I want a fun cub, but they're outrageous. What would you suggest as a comparable STOL?
Hey Robert! You're definitely not far away at all. We'd recommend the FMS Kingfisher. Having flown it and a Funcub, the Kingfisher is very similar to it in terms of light wing loading: ua-cam.com/video/SaFHqlSE9h0/v-deo.html If you want one for yourself, consider getting it via bit.ly/FMSKingfisher at no additional cost.
@@TwoBrosRC thanks for the quick reply. I wish there was one identical to this with the T-37 airframe design. I think they would sell like hotcakes since almost every USAF pilot for the last 50+ years trained in a T-37.
I’m not sure I’ve had an EDF fly right out of the box as good as this one. I yanked out the Reflex v2 and went with a Spektrum 6 channel Smart receiver. I don’t think it’s ever been flown using AS3X and I’m sure it’s never been in Safe. That whole aeronautical engineering thing I guess skips a generation, so I have no idea why this jet could be the easiest of the 80mm’s to fly. Where I enjoy the Bae Hawk the most is on landings. It’s very similar to the Eflite 90mm Viper, or even easier. It’s only been 8 years, and I’m just now understanding how important Center of Gravity is on landings.
It did fly really well, but at low rates (tied to gear being down) the pop-out gear doors do interfere with the ability of the jet to roll. You'll see shortly!
@@TwoBrosRC you have problems because you don’t understand how nice it is to have a plane fly straight and level. (LOL!) And if you saw our short, tilted, cratered runway (imagine landing on an aircraft carrier that’s been bombed and at a 15% list) you’d understand why an easy to land edf is so valuable to me. (You got one shot, it better be a good one!) Reverse Thrust- This was a dream come true for me. It’s slowly going into all the Freewing 80mm single engines. And once you figure out how, it’s going into the 80mm a-10.
You'd have to use a Hobbywing reversing ESC for the A-10 with enough servo channels to support it. The Hawk was a fun jet to fly though, especially off-camera after Will left and I had to just tear ass with it to burn up the remaining batteries I'd charged. We just modded the battery bay to remove about three inches of foam and reinforced the foam on the bottom with wood and gorilla glue to get the battery further back for the next vid we shoot with it.

Good video! Hawk is great bird for sure. Some of the problems described are from the total weight of the battery and CG...
I need to move the battery back in mine because it takes way too much forward stick to keep the nose from dropping when inverted.
Jon last question What settings did you use for flaps? 20 and 40 degrees?
We don't have exact measurements - it's just full and half, so 100% flap and 0% (on a scale of -100 - 0 - 100)
What are your thoughts of lipo’s verses lithium ion considering price , flight times , power , lifespan ?
We don't really have any thoughts on that since it's not something we've considered.
I've seen some vids on ion's. Hopefully, some ppl will start testing the durability of those. Fly time & 'C' rating are ridiculous!👍
Hi Jon…thanks for another great video. Is there any issue using these LiHV packs with the stock esc in the jet?
Nope, no issue at all! This was shot on the stock ESC with a LiHV pack.
Love the videos, you’re a credit to the hobby. As someone that doesn’t live in the US, can’t get SMC packs. Would a Spektrum 5000 fit ?
Yep, a Spektrum 5k should fit no problem. Thanks!

It just needs the CG shifted rearward. We'll cover this on its next flight.
Yeah, those gear doors looks like it would hinder the aero. I know you don't like the looks of the Avanti S, but that one flies better, yes?
This one flies great overall. It's not a sport jet but it's got a lot of tendencies similar to one.

Absolutely! We fly ours on SMC 3600s and Spektrum 3200s. It'll fly fine.
Hi, may I ask which EDF aircraft has the best sound?
That's a personal question that you'd have to decide for yourself.
Try to Upgrade the freewing F-35 to 80mm fms edf and see how powerful it will be
That probably won't make much of a difference because the jet is designed for 70mm intake and exhaust
